Positive Review
I have driven many cars with being a mechanic. The Diamante LS is by far the most enjoyable car I have driven and owned!! The "put you in your seat power" and take off is none comparable to others in it's class. The handling is that of a BMW or Mercedes. The controls layout is user friendly minus the "clock controls". However, parts are hard to find and most are only "dealer available". Servicing the car is also saved for the mechanic shop.
Critical Review
It is fully loaded leather, sunroof, all power. and drives well for the year and mileage. And has never left me stranded and very reliable for seven years.Nice stereo system Infinity it is factory.still holds the get up and get go when needed.

Very comfortable, awesome pickup on hills.
Slight electrical issue
Most comfortable ride ever. Have had 15 years now. I to wish they would start building them again before I wear this one out. Huge trunk & my huge dog rides in the back with ease. Only slight issue I ever had was a weird electrical issue which makes my locks, lock so fast that I had to make sure I rolled my window down if I stepped out of the car, so that the dog didn't get locked in & it made my headlights fluctuate slightly. Nothing so huge that I would give this car up. I read only a few had these issues after research. Whatever, the small hassle has been so worth it. My favorite & best car I have ever owned.
Can't beat it for the money
Parts hard to find.
This is my 3rd Diamante and my last. Why? Well They don't make them any more. If they did I would buy another when this wears out. But at 99K miles it has many years left. These have a good V6 and if you don't do your own maintenance it can be expensive. For instance to change the back plugs you need to partially remove the intake manifold. But the plugs last 50K miles. I can do it in 1/2 hour. Only other problem is the water leak which is fixed for 3 hours work and a $1.25 O ring. Once fixed there are no other problems with this car. They drive nice, Plenty of power. Quiet and has features found only in the posh luxury autos and then only at extra cost. duel power seats, ski slots, great radio, heated seats, sensing intermittent wipers, etc. I own two and probably won't sell either because they are hard to find. I'd rather drive this than a 750 or 525. Seems built better than both.

Maintenance cost
I own 2002 LS 3.5L. It's awesome but got a heatercore leak. The labor cost to fix it is approximately $700.
it is fast,comfortable,and looks awesome!!
none
This is the best car ever,if I could I would drive it forever.I love it:-)
Great for long trips; comfortable cabin
Gas mileage; interior workmanship lax in places
Bought new, and except for the usual 'major' issues due to age (trans re-build, timing belt, etc) has been a joy to own. Heavy which is great for snow, yet responsive enough to make driving - even long trips - easy and enjoyable.
Just spent over 2,3000 getting it in top shape
Don't need a second car-husband can no longer drive his.
Totally reliable
Paint on hood has faded in AZ sun
Vehicle is in great condition--have only had to replace tires and battery. Have regular oil changes. Low mileage since we only drive car around town or to towns close by. I'd give this car to my grandkids but it's a 4-door and it's older plus they are all back east 2500+ miles.
great price, reliability,quality and comfort
No mp3 input
Have driven this car all over the country from California to Colorado and Ohio with high mileage and never had a break down. Car has only required minor repairs (some owner's fault and some wear and tear). Car is extrememly reliable and has plenty of power with a V6. Still offers decent gas mileaage on the highway. This was my first car and I still own it 7 years later. I have no desire for a new car as this one runs perfectly. Has great internal design as the engine and transmission have needed no repair. Only maintenance repairs for this car have been for the steering shaft and muffler. You dont see many of these on the roads but they are a hidden gem.
