Positive Review
Going on our third year and my wife loves this car as much as first day she drove it. We were tired of the same dull SUV everyone else drives. As you would expect this Mini is quick, easy to park vs a big truck and has amazing amount of room inside even for driving teens around town. People are shocked how roomy the inside is for such a small car. The quality isn't like a Toyota regarding some of trim pieces and doors sound thin when you close them but it isn't as dull as a Toyota or Honda either. If you make a car payment might as well have something fun and unique to drive.
Critical Review
I've enjoyed my Mini over the past few months until I had an issue with the auto lock. While I was packing up the car after a hike my keys, phone and dog got locked in the car. I was on a rural road in 98 degree heat. Luckily a trucker came by and was able to break the back window to get the dog out. I contacted Mini who asked that I bring it to my dealership which I did. They did not find an issue with the system and said that it may have been caused by interference from my cell phone. That was 4 weeks ago and I've still not heard back from BMW/Mini that they are addressing the issue. I've made a safety complaint to the NHTSA and hopefully they will be able to get a response. In the meantime I've had all auto locking features disabled. Overall very disappointed in my customer service experience.

Fun to drive
No CarPlay
My daughter’s 2015 got totaled in a wreck so we replaces it with a 2019. So much nicer. Lots of pep and fun to drive
Always love the look of the Mini Countryman. its the best size for me and one of my favorite vehicles to drive and hae owned. Spunky and grounded and distinguished. Great exceleration as I had Cooper S ALL4 4dr Wagon AWD (2.0L 4cyl Turbo 8A) with the 189hp. The run flat tires to me a not smooth. but I understand havingthem since Mini does not offer a spare tire. To be honest, there is no where to put it. LOL. You have the ability to program the car so that you make it unique to your needs. Great entertainment system. it was a little difficult at times and wasnt as user friendly. The gearshift is linteresting to use. putting it in neutral has its challenges, when going through a car wash or even in general. its a fun car to own. keep up good maintenance on it. Once thing I did notice is that the motor mounts became an issue early on, which I think Mini already knows about. after they changed them no more issues. probably used a more sturdy set. Handles the road really well. I will note. because the SUV side low. the windshield gets beat up from larger vehicles in front of you. there probably should be a more sturdier windshield that what they are using. you will need to get it replace about 4-5 years in. its got hard to see out of after 3 for me. other thatn than. I loved this ride. I wish I had not traded it in. but you live and learn. Now tht I am in a position when I have to go into the oofice multile days. I am gonna have to rethink trading or getting a side vehicle for that 1.5 hour commute to and from work. maybe get me another Countryman. LOL
Smooth handling
See review. Not reliable. Door latch failures,
2018 Mini Copper Countryman All 4 S Problems prior to 60,000 miles: Door Latches: All four door latches failed (at various intervals) requiring the doors to be tied down to the headrest until repaired. The passenger door latched failed twice. Service manager was unable to offer an explanation as to the cause. Battery Replacement: No indication/warning light given that the battery was getting low… It just stopped functioning. Replacing the battery requires removing support bars and engine compartment panels. Somewhat time consuming compared to most cars. Engine Coolant: almost all of the engine coolant evaporated causing the car to overheat. No warning light that coolant was low. Car had been serviced by Mini of Bedford two weeks prior and had been consistently serviced by the dealership. Decals: Decals around the headlights bubbled and needed to be replaced. Tires: Run flat fair weather tires needed to be replaced to allow for inclement/snow conditions. Service/Technicians: There are very few shops that work on Mini Coopers and most are as expensive as the dealer. Overall: The Mini Copper is not a reliable vehicle and owning one in North America is costly unless you have the time to perform the repairs yourself.
Very reliable
Exterior black plastic trim
I love Minis, this is my third one and will definitely buy again. The Countryman is a very fun and car to drive. the interior is very stylish and luxurious. I've never had any mechanical issues with any of the Countryman's that I've owned. I could go on and on about how great of a vehicle they are, love them. Unfortunately there is one issue , I dislike all the black plastic trim on the exterior of the vehicle, it fades very fast, other than that I love Minis.
Unique, Fun to Drive, Roomy, Sporty, Classy.
Few Mini Dealerships in Each State (maintenance)
My wife and I have owned 3 regular Mini Coopers and now a 2022 Mini Countryman for myself (my bucket list car ;-) . We also currently own a 2016 Mini Convertible. I absolutely love the fact that you can design your own car online with very unique options, colors, etc.. My 2022 Mini Countryman Cooper S is roomy, sporty, classy, and unique all at the same time. Currently leasing the vehicle but may decide to purchase at lease end for $26,000 in May of 2024. I ordered my Mini Countryman fully loaded with all options except for the sport seats. FWIW, I am 6'4" 250 lbs. and the car fits me fine and is very comfortable. Again, avoid the sport seats if you have a broad back.
Fun to drive
Not noisy
I have leased this car for 4 years and really love it. It has leather seats heated. Great amount of room in back, have been able to use it for everything.
Fun to drive and economical
Run flat tires make to much road noise
Love the car, I have an interested buyer so I just want a resale value for my JCW Edition
Fun! Roomy when seats folded. Great in traffic.
Tight backseat. Noisy on highway.
I love this car. Makes me smile. Cute. Parks easily. A lot of pep. Well made. A ton of room with seats folded down. A little noisy on hwy because of run flat tires. Otherwise, perfect car.
