Positive Review
Pushing 100K miles now after 6 years with this vehicle. It has been a great car requiring a minimum amount of maintenance. Better build quality than the Chrysler 300, much less $ than the Avalon. Huge back seat and trunk. Best move I made was replacing the original Dunlop tires with a set of Hankook Optimas four years ago. This improved the handling (especially on wet/snowly roads) and reduced road noise tremendously. The seating position is elevated and the greenhouse area is huge giving great visbility, I have driven the 2014 Ford Taurus and it feels so confining inside, even though its the same basic car underneath it was a big disappointment.
Critical Review
We have had this car for almost three years and have brought it back to several dealers to try and figure out the "clunking" noise coming from the front end suspension. Still after replacing both strut assemblies the problem lingers. We were finally told, that after one dealer contacted Ford directly, they are stating this is a "normal" condition.

Very reliable vehicle. Fun to drive and to take on
All times that I have on this vehicle I've never h
Best vehicle I've ever owned. I changed the oil every 3 to 4000 miles or when needed. I love this vehicle I need to upgrade to use at Uber because of age.
Beautiful and very clean. Low mileage
Dead battery .Some rust on the left side of hood
I am a senior snowbird. We bought the car in 2008. It was a demo with 6000m. It is beautiful. Nice leather beige interior, still in perfect condition. We used it only 5 months per year. When my husband died I used it even less but I always kept it in very good condition. We live near the ocean so I detected some rust and 2 years ago I had the car repainted. Covid prevented me from coming for 18 months so at the moment the battery is dead. I am not sure about the air conditioning. I’ve reluctantly decided to part with it but it could be a good buy for someone.

Reliable and well built
Some typical American plastic finishes
My second one and easily the best vehicles Ive owned. Very reliable, well built and virtually no issues after 190K miles between the 2 cars. AWD is seamless and necessary here in the Big Sky country. Sorry they dont make the Mercury any longer. One of Fords best values.
Great gas millage.
I hit a deer, and cannot get a new hood for it.
GREAT car, I bought it brand new in 2008. We have taken several trips to Dallas Texas, in the last four years.
Fun to drive,Great gas mileage, comfortable,
none
This is the first mercury I have owned. IT has been an extremely reliable car, get good city & highway mileage. It is very comfortable to drive, especially on a long road trip. I am disappointed that Ford decided to discontinue making the mercury line, because if they had not, I would definitely considered buying another Mercury Sable.
Looks like a show room car.Extremely clean.
No thermometer is the only thing.
