What Owners are Saying About the 2005 Mercury Monterey

"Best value vehicle I have ever owned"

"Just put new tires and battery on it. Handles great. My wife won't give it up."

"Think Twice"

"I bought this Van new off the showroom floor in 2004, received employee pricing before it was available as a sales gimmick through the sales manager’s girl friend who worked for Ford. Next day, drove the van cross country from Virginia to California and back (Approx 7500 miles) only one thing broke, the back lift gate handle. Had oil changed in Idaho at 5000 miles. Since then, the 6 CD player has been replaced 3 times; rear senor replaced once, rear sliding door motor replaced once, all under warranty. Rear brake caliper and rotor replaced for approx $450.00 at the dealer. Currently, these are the only problems to date with only 75,000 miles on the van. 4.2 liter engine gets about 16 to 17 miles per gallon. Oil changed every 5000 miles, transmission fluid replaced once."

"Think Twice about a Ford Product"

"Took the van on a trip to Boston from Virginia and back and on the way back Transmission light went on, Torque converter code was read....internet has several postings of the same type of problem for Ford Freestar. The van has 81000 miles on it to date so buyer beware Ford hasn't been able to fix there transmission quality problems yet, just like their Ford Taurus...... "I bought this Van new off the showroom floor in 2004, received employee pricing before it was available as a sales gimmick through the sales manager?s girl friend who worked for Ford.
