Positive Review
I have had this car for 6 months, I sold these cars new and Learned by factory training that this is the Best Value, Lincoln Mercury has ever produced, It was a joint Effort and Designed by Not only Ford Division But By Volvo for Safety as well. The seats as you get in the Car set up higher as you get in, so you don,t sink in, or drop down to get in. You slide right in . Air bags every where and If Ford Lincoln Mercury had promoted this car Better, this would have been the Car that Pulled Ford out of the Slump they were in. Very High reviews on this car, and has a 5 star rateing on it, in every Category. I get about 20 to 22 MPG on it, as a Average. The gas mileage is really Not the Big story( although it does run on regular Fuel )But the amount of Room and Comfort of this Vehicle is beyond any other Vehicle on the Market Today ! The Trunk Space is Huge, and the Rear legg Room is By Far the Most in the industry. No Other Vehicle will Compare. I have a Montego Premier, 2wd (front wheel drive car) and If you EVER can Find one, IT will be at a Much lower price than it was sold New for, which is about 29,000 dollars(NEW) I have recently Looked at the New 2009 model Lincoln MK-X and its Design is very simular to the Montego Prmier( which was only Made and sold for 3 yrs. 2005-2007. With the 6 speed Automatic Transmission and a 3.0 V6 Engine, it does have enough power for the average Driver, this is really a good Family car ,and very safe one as well!!! Because they are in such Short Supply in the Used car market, its seems like a Hard Vehicle to Find. WHY, you ask ? They did not sell Many New ones ,The ones that did buy them will Keep them a very long Time, because This vehicle is hard to Replace and People get Spoiled with the Room the Car Offers. This Vehicle was Designed to run about 200,000 Miles without to many probles to it. Like VOLVO. There are NO Tune-UPs for the First 100,000 Miles, Just Change the oil and Rotate the Tires every 5-7000 miles, 60,000 on the transmission Service and You will be very Happy with the Low cost of Maintance on this Vehicle---- BEST Value
Critical Review
LET ME FIRST SAY I DO LOVE MY CAR, BUT! FIRST AT 15,000MILES THE BRAKES NEEDED REPLACING UNDER A RE-CALL..SECOND THE A/C WENT OUT AT 30K MILES. UNFORTUNATELY MY WARRANTY HAD RUN OUT FOUR MONTHS PRIOR. I CAN SAY HOWEVER THAT FORD WORKED WITH ME ON REPLACING IT DUE TO THE FACT THAT MY CAR WAS SUCH LOW MILEAGE. AND THIRD THIS WEEK I NOTICED MY TAIL LIGHT WAS OUT. ONE WOULD THINK THIS IS NO BIG DEAL RIGHT? (NO) THE ENTIRE ASSEMBLY HAS TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE THE TAIL LIGHT IS LED... FORD DOESN'T MAKE REPLACEMENT BULBS FOR THESE. SO $432.OO FOR A REPLACEMENT ASSEMBLY. NEEDLESS TO SAY I AM VERY DISCOURAGED. I WANTED TO KEEP MY CAR BECAUSE IT IS SO COMFORTABLE ON THE ROAD. AND I ONLY DRIVE IT ON WEEKENDS, HENCE THE LOW MILEAGE. BUT I AM STARTING TO LOOK FOR A REPLACEMENT VEHICLE. I CAN ALSO SEE BY THE OTHER REVIEWS THAT MY EXPERIENCE SEEMS TO BE ISOLATED.

My grandparents bought it new in 2007 and I got in 2018 and it has been such a blessing. I’m at 199k and the engine and transmission run perfect! The only major thing I’ve had to fix is struts a few months back. Unfortunately the leather in the driving seat have started to crack/rip in a few places (probably due to lack of maintenance) I’m confident this car will make it 250k-300k and just took a 450 mile round trip. The only thing that doesn’t work is the drivers side heated seat.
Comfortable
AWD is gone
One of the most reliable, practical, and spacious cars I have ever purchased. Got my monies worth for 5 years.
comfy and large trunk
AC compressor and rebuilt Transmission at 70K
I have owned this vehicle since Jan of 2007 (34K), Jan of 2021 now has 178K. I really like this car...that is why I have kept it so long. The major problems I have had are: at about 70K the transmission needed replacing, where the dealer wanted 5K+, I got it repaired for 2400. The A/C compressor went in Aug 2017. I got 2 years out of it (thank goodness it had a 2 yr warranty), so it was fixed in Aug 2019 but failed again in Aug of 2020. Right now I am debating whether or not to fix again or buy another used car. The passenger side tail light was out in 2019 and I had to replace the whole unit...found on ebay for about $175. Unfortunately, in this vehicle you can't just replace the bulb, you have to replace the whole tail light assembly, but it was easy enough to do myself (senior lady). I get about 23 mpg mixed highway/city. My driver side heated seat went out in 2011 and I found a place that puts in a new one for $150 (I never go to the overpriced dealerships) and it has been working fine for over 10 years. Other than that, just maintenence. Brakes, battery, tires, water pump, air filter, etc.
Virtually everything
Slightly under powered performance
I have owned many high end cars, BMW, Mercedes, Range Rover, Volvo, Audi and the list goes on. Without doubt, this is the most reliable and economical car that I have owned. Timeless styling, roomy, comfortable interior, and excellent reliability. Only CON is that it is a little slow off the line, but for a safe, AWD daily driver, it is the best automobile that I have owned. Highly recommend.
Well Built, Lots of Space, Great Family car
Getting about 14.6MPG/ No AUX port
I have owed the car now for a month. Love how much space there is inside and in the trunk. Very stable car on the highway. For the price has very good options besides no AUX port or cassette player. Nice Luxury vehicle with comfy leather seats. Could have more power from a stop.
Great buy with reliability. Looks NEW.
None. Asking 3000
This is my wifes car and is in excellent condition, garage kept. Less than 5K on newer tires, no dents or scratches. Full leather seats are black and carpets are as new. All power options. Top of the line model. HWY 30+ MPG, Town driving appx. 24 mpg. All maintenance records available.
Great car!
No longer made!
Too bad it is no longer made!
Good gas mileage, very roomy inside, good riding
Rear quarter panels rusted, original paint weak
I have owned my 2007 Mercury Montego since new. I currently have 315,000 miles on the original motor and transmission. The motor still does not use any oil and runs good. I have the six speed automatic transmission and it also still works good. I have used full synthetic motor oil since new and changed the motor oil and filter every 5,000 miles. Also performed all maintenance per factory recommendation. The car gets good gas mileage, rides great and the back seat and trunk are very big. Overall I have been very happy with the vehicle. Yes, I have some parts replaced along the way. On my third alternator, 2 EGR valves, 2 Mass Air Flow Sensors and normal maintenance items. Overall I have really liked the car.
