What Owners are Saying About the 2005 Mercury Montego

"Very reliable and safe daily driver"

"I have owned many high end cars, BMW, Mercedes, Range Rover, Volvo, Audi and the list goes on. Without doubt, this is the most reliable and economical car that I have owned. Timeless styling, roomy, comfortable interior, and excellent reliability. Only CON is that it is a little slow off the line, but for a safe, AWD daily driver, it is the best automobile that I have owned. Highly recommend."

"Excellent, dependable, comfortable car."

"I bought the Montego in 2006, I purchased the vehicle because of the perceived build quality and dependability. I have not been disappointed. After 62000 miles, I have changed the oil (5000 miles), replaced the air filter (12000 miles), replaced the brakes once, and one set of tires. The car is very well built and now she is five years old and looks great, too include the paint and interior materials. The Montego drives very nicely, both in the city and on the Highway. The engine is a bit under powered, the car prefers to cruise at about 68 on the highway, but it can easily handle higher speeds. The midsize vehicle has more interior space than larger cars. I am 6' 4", I can sit behind myself in the Montego and have plenty of leg room. The car lacks an exciting exterior design, subsequently it is not in demand, I will not sell my Montego because it is extremely undervalued in the used car market. If you should be lucky enough to find one, and are looking for quality, dependable transportation, buy a Montego, probably the best used car for the money in the market. MPG is better than the advertised 19/29. I have reached 33 MPG on the highway (ave speed 68)."

"Best car I have ever owned."

"I purchased my new 2005 AWD/CVT Mercury Montego in Sept. 2005. Here it is 2013 and I am still on the original battery! I did replace the tires. I love this car, from the extra large mirrors to the hooks in the trunk -- features not found on many new cars today. I have serviced my car every 3,000-4,000 miles and have kept her nice & clean. I have more than enough power and the CVT transmission has served me well. I will never trade this car."
