Positive Review
I have NEVER owned a vehicle that has been put through so much and lasted so long. I am having some transmission shifting issues for 175,000. I had an oil leak in past (due to it being treated like a 4WD when it wasn't). I always used synthetic oil and it got driven with no oil for too long and STILL running. I wish I had another one. Everyone says don't spend the money on the transmission but this SUV has seriously been through the mill and always got me home. I'll admit it is getting really bad and is having trouble shifting but I will be spending the money to replace the transmission. But what do you expect when I put all but 12 miles of it on there. Only complaint would be make the seats more comfy. I wish I could buy a newer one, I hate that they aren't made anymore.
Critical Review
I WOULD RECCOMEND THIS VEHICLE TO OTHERS.BUT ALAS THEY DO NOT MAKE THEM ANYMORE. THE SISSY BAR LOCATION IS IN A BAD LOCATION.TOO CLOSE TO THE WINSHIELD. tHE TRANSMISSION HAS WENT OUT AT 52281 MILES.I READ THIS IS COMMON AND THE MANUFACTOR WONT REPLACE. BUT I LOVE MY SUV

Love this car, I just replaced the transmission, rack n pinion all new parts on it’s front end new fenders and paint. The engine has been well maintained oil changes.
Fun to drive
Quiet ride
This SUV needed work with tires and muffler I see a lot of them for sale but they don't last.buy one if you can
Stylish, economical great running car.
None.
Great car with many comfort features. Good on gas and no maintenance problems. 100300 miles and on the third set of tires and second battery. Always drives straight and brakes good. Still on original brake pads & shoes. I will never find a new car as good as this one.
exceptionally reliable
not the most comfortable, but far from the worst
I bought this SUV new off the lot 15 years ago, I have only had to replace the battery 2x, starter once, and alternator once. I have replaced all 4 tires recently for the 1st time. I had to replace the rotors and brake pads, but nothing that was a major repair. I did all of the regular maintenance, this kept it in excellent running condition. I have traveled across country more than once and was never left stranded, my 05 Mercury Mariner has been exceptionally reliable. The seats are a bit hard, I would have liked them to be more comfortable, it rides like a truck.
Good solid, 4x4WD, hearted seats,
head liner is beginning to seperate small area
4x4, suv, good tires, power steering automatic with OD, V6 in good condition
Great gas mileage, very reliable, easy to drive.
Humming sound from rear.
This 2006 hybrid averages 24 - 25 mpg; pretty great for a 13 year-old vehicle. Love options for flat folding down seats to accommodate more space for 'stuff' in back. Has been very reliable and looks sharp. Of course, that takes some investment of taking care of it too! Wish I had the premium sound package. Does make the Ford humming sound from the rear, which is 'normal' but makes me a tad nuts. A friend's Escape did the same. Handles nicely and turn ratio is amazing; doesn't take much to get out of tight spots. Fog lights are very handy up here in northern MI. I would buy it again!!
Long life. Comfortable, reliable
To small for a family of 5, exhaust material.
I bought this right before my son was born 7yrs ago. It had 120,000 then wanted something bigger and safer than the car I had. During my ownership I haven’t had to many issues. I have replaced an alternator, both front CV axle‘s, a battery, spark plugs and their coil packs, and an exhaust. Northern winters can be hard on them.. Other than that just oil changes. I still avg 21mpg though 75% of my driving is hwy. currently pushing 235k on and still runs like a champ.
Very reliable!
Don't like the tan interior. Put seat covers on.
Owned this suv since new. I only had to replace the battery twice and tires once. It has a lot of power. I have the oil change every 5,000 miles and that's about all I have done. .It only has 48,000 miles on it so will probably be the last vehicle I will own. I have driven the 4 cylinder but not enough pick up. I would recommend the 6 cylinder! I love it!
