Positive Review

"Great car and value"

Very solidly built car; excellent visibility (much more so than on many newer cars); very smooth ride. Easy for older people to get in and out of. Steering and brakes seem "loose" by more current standards. Finish has held up so much better than on the other two GM cars (Malibu, Impala) we've owned more recently.

VS

Critical Review

"It aint a Toyota!"

Ford Motors seems to think that a few routine problems aren't worth compensating owners. All Crown Vics and Marquis have the same $$ problems: Intake manifold cracks, blend door actuator motor, power window motors. Otherwise, the car is pretty good. Good power, smooth ride, quiet, good motor, really good brakes. MPG is okay for a car this size. I get 18 in town and 22 Hwy.

Terrible car from Minnesota or wherever it snows
Pros

It is a tank nobody will mess with you

Cons

Bad mileage horrible on ice and snow very dated

I test drove this car for quite a while little bit of ice it's terrible on the snow I got stuck over and over and over and over in the car brand new tires on it I wouldn't recommend this card anybody that lives in the snow areas like Minnesota. That's an old car seems okay engine light was on 167000 Miles $2,200 had somebody issue is nothing too major the windows work but one or two of them very slow and whiny air condition I don't know because it's winter heater works well there were some light leaks in different areas but nothing major it did have one problem when I stopped at a garage and they checked it and they said that it was something clogged up concerning emissions what cost $100 so that's okay the guy said he would take 2000 but it's been on Craigslist now for weeks with the price of gas at four five six seven dollars we don't know one day to the next you wouldn't be able to go anywhere I passed it up . If you live somewhere where it doesn't snow and you never get ice on the road and you like the huge cars and like constantly adjusting your steering like every tenth of a second then it's the car for you. It's just too old and the rear wheel drive is what sucks really bad. Years ago all I had was rear-wheel-drive this one is the worst I've ever driven. So there haha forget it go home and have 2 beers and you'll feel all better.

First Year For New Styling
Pros

Gas mileage, Smooth comfortable ride, Lots of room

Cons

Poor fit and finish, Power windows all failed

My Mom and Dad's car. Low miles as Mom didn't drive much after Dad passed. The car is a joy to drive on the highway and gets amazing gas mileage (26-30 Hwy. 22-25 City) thanks to the early 4.6L OHC V-8 (281 cu.in.). These V-8s were very technically advanced at the time and variants of this engine are still produced. There are some very hot versions of this V-8 in Mustangs and the like. The aero body lines were new that year I think, and you can see faults in the fit and finish typical of Ford. Lots of fiberglass panels to get the weight down but still a 5200 lb. vehicle. The cornering is surprisingly good for a boat this size. Had to learn to be careful parking it as I've never had anything this big before. Power windows have all failed over time and were pricey to fix. Some cheapness to the interior plastic typical of a lower trim level. Dad was frugal. He should have bought that Lincoln Continental he always wanted! KBB prices are ridiculously low on these so if you can find a Grandma car it will do you right.

You NEED A Grand Marquis in Your LIfe
Pros

RWD, V-8, Ample space, Comfortable

Cons

loose suspension, doesn't shift hard

Grand Marquis combines the iconic styling of the P71 Crown Victoria with the comfort and luxury of the Lincoln Town Car. The RWD car features a 4.6 Liter V-8 that gets exceptionally good gas mileage. If your personal Grand Marquis gets poor gas mileage, that's YOUR fault. It's not about the car, it's about the driver. Don't blame your car for your bad driving skills. Of course, the gas mileage is affected by the car's weight factor. The 18-foot long car weighs an average of 2 tons. Its comfortable cabin features bench seats in the front and rear. The seats themselves are extremely soft and wide. One is able to fully stretch out and cruise in ease and comfort. You can't do that in the shapeless blobs people succumb to these days. The car also boasts an average 20 cubic foot trunk. Some of them even come with keypads, eliminating the fumbling with keys when all you want to do is open your car. The Mercury Grand Marquis is one of the last real full size V-8 American sedans. It carries on the legacy of the well-loved Crown Victorias and luxury Town cars that so represent American history. They are affordable, fun, stylish and sporty. Sporty and Luxurious. It's even in the name. Grand Marquis LS. Do yourself a favor. Buy a Grand Marquis today.

I ADORE GRAND MARQUIS
Pros

V-8, 25+ MPG, ample space

Cons

not loud enough, weight factor

I absolutely adore my 94 Grand Marquis. Its superior in every way from its understressed engine that is capable of 25 mpg on a V-8 to its wide bench seats in the front and rear. Do not hesitate to buy yourself one of these AMAZING cars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Solid, quality car
Pros

comfortable, plush interior, quality built

Cons

quite large, takes up all the garage

This was originally bought new as a company car so the miles racked up pretty quick. All maintenance was paid for so all were done on schedule. When I retired, I was allowed to keep it. The miles dont add up so fast but it still is put to good use. Very, very few problems, nothing major. Minor annoyance, wipers are inadequate and have always been. Im looking forward to 3K miles before much longer. Great vehicle, its been great all these years and miles.
