Positive Review
Got this 2006 with low miles and it is so fun to drive. I especially like the hardtop feature. No more ragtops to replace. Car is solid and drive smooth. A lot of features on the car but a little disappointed in the phone feature. Has controls for bluetooth but no bluetooth installed. Going to buy one off ebay for like 200. The car finish is excellent and the paint looks great still. A few rock chips but it is 10 years old now. The interior has held up great with no signs of wear or tears. Especially like the heated and cooling seats in this car. Power everything on this baby. The sound is solid when you rev it up. Brakes are excellent stop on a dime. The tires are going to be replaced but for old tires pretty good ride. Going to go with performance tires V or W rating. Yokahamas look good right and the prices are fines for replacement tires.
Critical Review
I've had the car since new, maintained by MB dealer entire time. Has 133,000 mile and is starting to cost major $'s. I drive 100 miles/day, this is the 4th vehicle I've had in the last 20 years [1st MB], his has been by far the most expensive in terms of upkeep costs. Having said the above, its been a great car from the stanpoint of sheer driving pleasure but durability...not impressed.

Great size, retractable hard top makes it safer.
It is low to the ground compared to my SUV.
Love the retractable hard top. SOund system is great. It has a single disc cd and we added a 6 disc cd changer. Comfort package - 8 way power fronts seats, auto dimming mirrors, neck level heating and heated seats.
Big car ride.

Fast and fun to drive. Rwd is phenomenal. 100 mph easily performs. Love the convertible hard top and heated head rests.
Handling. Handling and Handling
Very bad acceleration during overtaking maneuvers
This was my first luxury car. It offers a great open top driving experience -especially for first timers. It's steering and handling at ALL speeds is exquisite. The interior is very beautiful with heated leather seats. The occupants of the car will find themselves in a very roomy environment. In my opinion the car's carrying capacity in the rear is adequate - shopping has never been a problem. The most beautiful thing about the car is the sound of its V6 engine. It makes you feel a million dollars. The chassis is very rigid and very low slung with large tires. As a result, the car does not roll in turns and is also very stable in those turns. The seats can be lowered to a very low level, very close to the chassis. This gives you a very good and sporty feel when driving the car. The steering wheel has a retro 1950's look. The car is so solidly built that it does not buffet when other cars pass you on the highway. I have extracted 32.1mpg on long drives. On city roads the mpg can be low - 25mpg or lower. The car computer generates a lot of information. The downsides come from the fact that the hard-top is retractable. When the top is on, the hardtop is not an integral part of a monocoque. As a result the top and the car generates DIFFERENT vibrations - the ones originating from the top shaking the whole structure when the road surface is bad. In most cars bad roads make their presence felt through the chassis. In this car you can feel it both through the chassis as well as from the top. This can be VERY annoying when driving on bad roads. It is an experience you can only have in a hardtop convertible. Maryland has very bad roads. The drive experience can be very bad. The car's 0-60mph performance is very bad. The car's acceleration at highway speeds is also VERY bad. I never aspire to overtake anyone on the highway. The car simply cannot achieve the acceleration. The car also has a pseudo manual transmission. Once you get used to the system it can provide some excitement on a drive but it is nowhere as a good as a real/full manual system. This car introduced me to performance cars. I am very happy with the car. I will never buy a hard top convertible again. I believe a Cayman or a 911 with a manual transmission will offer a better drive.
Magnificent chassis, Wonderful engine
None yet!
After multiple Miatas, I decided to up the ante with more of a Grand Touring machine. I'm not disappointed. The engine has a fantastic tone with the top and the pedal down. The top deploys like Rube Goldberg is smiling. But the AirScarf feature is probably the best for this bald man. My wife calls the car, "a bit douchey". She's not wrong. But I don't care. I think it looks great. And my mechanic hasn't had any bad news...yet. Just a transmission service so far. No repair expenses. Oh, and it gets 28mpg on the freeway...not bad at all for a very heavy car with plenty of pep.
Reliable, safe & fun
It's too small to shop in
I bought mine used in 2012 and still love her today. I wish someone would have told me an oil change costs $180 on sale at Benz. I bought mine with an extended warranty & just extended it again. I absolutely love this car & so does my grandson..
Great styling and performance
Gas milage could be better
Perfect car if you don't need cargo space or seating for more than 2. Step on the gas and it goes! Great styling, better than the newer ones I think.
People bend their necks to see it.
Minor defects like small paint chips, etc.
Hard top automatically goes into the trunk for being a convertible. It's automatic and manual. All scheduled maintenance has been done by Mercedes.
