What Owners are Saying About the 2022 Mercedes-Benz Mercedes-AMG E-Class
"Astonishing V8 Icon - Yep, 10 out of 10"
"Car and Driver gave this car a rare rating of 10 out of 10. I'm just a regular guy who raised his eyebrow at that expert opinion but was persuaded to go for a test drive and immediately discovered their rating was not hyperbole. That test drive dramatically changed my frame of reference for what a car can and should be, and I began hunting for an ultra-loaded CPO. This rocketmobile is for people who want supercar performance in a highly sophisticated and luxuriously comfortable daily driver. Its sporty exterior styling touches are attractive, but casual observers might overlook it in a parking lot while admiring other more aggressively sporty-looking cars that significantly underperform the AMG E63 S - which has the advantage of not especially attracting Officer Friendly. The interior is super-special and refined in many ways, a delightful place to experience the unique joy of driving this amazing car. Yes, it’s expensive, but as a total package of performance, technology, and quality, this car is a just-right “Goldilocks” of incredible excellence and minimal compromise in every respect. In the case of the 2019 AMG E63 S, you DO get what you pay for, which is a truly world-class automobile. A very high level of fit and finish quality is displayed everywhere in the 2019 AMG E63 S. The heated Alcantara and leather steering wheel is a pleasure to use - this is what paddle shifters should feel like. Massaging heated and cooled front seats that responsively hug you in road curves are a revelation. The relaxing heated back seat is fine for two average-sized adults, or three for a brief trip. Attractively modern dash displays are a flashy representation of the impressive technology almost overflowing out the windows of this car. I’m very picky about audio but I could type for a long time about the marvelously exceptional "High End 3-D Surround Sound" Burmester audio system. I held out to find a CPO with the upgraded audio and it was worth the effort. The acoustic package’s window tint, optional sunshades, and the nicely effective HVAC system kept the interior comfortable during a southern August; the cold weather package is ready for the winter. The carbon-fiber interior trim is a slick and sporty look that pairs nicely with the dark Alcantara headliner. My car’s obsidian black metallic paint looks great, and I prefer this “pre-refresh” exterior. The aggressive front styling and the trunk badges are more of a giveaway, but from the side, this car looks like standard sedan fare as long as the person next to you at the stoplight can ignore the quarter panel badges that say, “Try me and look silly”. Night package is available; my car has the metallic window and lower body trim, a nice match for the forged cross-spoke wheels with grey accents. The Performance Exhaust, a must-have option on this 600+ HP beast, extends the metallic accent theme to the rear. The carbon-fiber engine cover looks sharp, and I love the “One Man, One Engine” builder’s signature plaque. How great is a German engine built by a guy named Dieter? Beyond incredible, in this case. Subtle touches like rain-sensing wipers, soft-close doors, and automatic LED high-beams that look like an opening theater curtain in front of you when engaging in dark, close surroundings remind you this is a really special car. The AMG E63 S's power and handling are among the very best in this class of vehicles, so it can be extremely tempting to drop your foot in the right situation. There are plenty of numbers published like 3.3 seconds zero-to-60 and experiencing them in the car makes them even more mind-boggling. When the car is set to maximum insanity, the total sensory experience can only be described as video game-like. Work the paddles throwing it through curves and find your jaw in your lap at the performance of a car this size and weight. The laughably massive carbon-ceramic brakes, sure-footed 4MATIC AWD, and fat Michelins inspire tons of confidence. Drop it into Drift mode and hoon like a high-school loon. Try a launch and it'll pin you back in your seat and take your breath away. Really. What’s under that sexy AMG hood is arguably way too rowdy for responsible use on public roads. Choosing between listening to the godlike audio system and the uber-glorious engine is a mighty struggle, especially in Sport Plus mode - or create and save your own Individual mode. The engine’s power and sound are truly spectacular and can quickly land you cheek-down on Officer Friendly’s hood getting fitted for shiny new bracelets if you’re not careful. The thrills are non-stop, and I can’t wait to take it to a road course track day – where all my data can be monitored and stored in the dashboard’s track app. Really?!? It's got a dizzying depreciation trip ahead and a higher-than-average total cost of sedan ownership, but it's also one of the very finest cars of its type. Go drive one."
"Sleek stylish, great handling car."
"Got this car after years with MB station wagon and at first I was taken back with how small it felt. But like a hand in a glove, I got used to the sporty feel and very nice driving experience. Great mileage. Incredible sound system. Easy to use radio. Never figured out navigation to this day..use my phone. The only draw backs are the car is low to the ground. I wish Mercedes would make their chases higher from the floor. Its not good for rainy days with deep puddles. I do like that the Mercedes has proper door handles for safety unlike some cars like the Tesla that in an accident trap passengers because others cannot get them out of the car due to their flat handles. Mercedes is safer and better. I would recommend the Mercedes as a nice handling safe car with good gas mileage."
"what a great year 2017"
"I almost had given up on Mercedes, i have been driving Mercedes for the last 22 years tried variation of same model, AMG, 300,350,400 and 500. The AMG was rear wheel drive - 500 was too heavy on gas and the 300 and 350 had no power and then i discovered the 400 and it met all my criteria! the E Class as always as been an elegant car with all the bell and whistle and the handling is distinctively Mercedes but the E 400 4 Matic put it all together and made it magic. This car is going to be a keeper it is so beautiful and great to drive, i plan on keeping for a long time and hopefully pass it on to a family member."
