Positive Review
I've had this car for 8 years now. I absolutely love it. Aside from the stalk and NAV issues (which are correct, but you adapt) the car is well designed and exudes a solid and stable feel. I drive it up I 70 from Denver to go skiing 40 to 50 times a season and it eats up the inclines and mountain passes with it's twin turbo V6. The car is comfortable for four people and their day ski items. I have a Thule roof box for extended trips to Telluride, Aspen or Steamboat. The car is quiet and powerful. Never been stuck or had the engine not start even in -20F temps. The downside is that it is expensive to maintain, especially off warranty. I track expenses very carefully. I've spent $17,800 in 8 years on direct mx. That works out to $2,250 per year. That's for scheduled and unscheduled mx. The car also eats tires. I have gone through 4 sets in 120,000 miles at a cost of another $5,000 (19" wheels and 2 sets Pirelli Scorpion Ice & Snow and 2 sets Continental Contact. BTW I find these tires to be a perfect fit with this car). If you can afford the mx then you will not be disappointed with the power and solid feel of the ML 320CDI. Also note that the 2007 and 2008 were the only two years that MB did not use Blue-Tec (Urea) to reduce emmissions. The Blue tec has it's own tank and needs to be replaced every 10k miles, which will add to mx expense. I have never failed an emmissions test in CO with the 2007 and it does not exhibit any smoke, nor 'diesel' noise. The only way you know you are in a diesel is when you hit the 'gas' and are thrust forward under the twin turbo's 398 ft pnds of torque. I've averaged 30 MPG and get a little over 600 miles per tank. I'd buy one again, but I'd also buy an extended warranty with the purchase.
Critical Review
I Purchased this car in 2006 brand new with 10 miles, it was my dream car , I thought. within 6 months on Christmas night, the transmission went out, thank god it was under warranty, then a year later the power steering went out, again thank god , it was still under warranty . I started to wonder if I should trade it in. but I really loved my car and felt like all the kinks was out. Well , the A/C vents broke, power seats stop working, had message about the airbags not working , took it to the dealer and all this was not covered with my warranty. spent over $3500. to fix all . the next year the radiator went out , $2,000. the power driver window button snapped off, and the lights needed to be changed , which I have had to do every year. I can't understand why the light bulds don't last because apparentely there is a back up bulds. spent $450 just to change 2 parking lights/fog lights/ 2 back lights. now we are in 2014 , the timming chain broke , $6,000 to fix !!! can't do it !! I will put on craig's list an hope I can get a decent amount for it. I can't even get $6,000 from the dealer to trade in , they offered $5,000. the worst purchase of my life !!! never again will I buy a MERCEDES BENZ !!!

interior is great
cant work longer fora couple months at a time
have owned the car for 6 months and I have had at least 7 to 8 different issues. Car repairs are out of this world expensive. did full service to repair then a month later black oil was leaking out of engine. Cost me another $600 to fix for filter and O rings. What a joke never get a mercedes!!!!!
4Matic, Comfortable, Roomy, Design never gets old
Gear Shift Slow and Rough when cold.
First of all, I was worried owning 10 years old Mercedes as second owner but never had a major issues. I owned this ML350 for 2 years now and drove 31k miles and I never experienced oil leaks, engine or transmission problem or overheating. It’s not also that expensive to maintain the car and plenty of options for quality aftermarket parts. Lastly, 4Matic is amazing. With 1.25inch lift and 31inch AT Tire, I go almost everywhere I want to!
Great car to have.
2006 500 engine so it drinks lot of gas
Great reliable vehicle as long as you keep gas in it. Gas hog but this car makes me feel really great. Classic legendary SUV that deserves to be up there with the Legends when it’s all said and done.
Heated seats navigation top notch stereo in it.
Sits two low and doesn’t have enough power.
Just a overall excellent car I’ve got compliments all over md about this suv from the ladies I bought it for my mom it had 110000 miles 2 years later it has 2300000 miles on it just a tuff vehical goes threw 4 foot of snow like it ain’t nothing off roads good and handles excellent very comfortable hood but of power and will run 164 mph all the way out stock lots of extra features and for a cheaper luxury suv u can’t beat it very pleased since I only spent 10 thousand for it on the road.
its not top of the line but its a great car
fast big comfy and nobody drives these. cost like 80-100 to fill up with $4 premium prices right now but it cost to be the boss. drove it 15,000 no issues just oil change. sturdy. fun and easy to drive. great steering. aux is standard. somebody ran a red light into an intersection and i t-boned her. the car was totaled and the front caved in a few feet. i didnt have on a seat belt. smacked the shet out them ladies and they was all hurting leaving in ambulance. i got some bruises and and smacked my head but i was good for real; got up, walked away & did felt safe the entire wreck. 40mph. i still need to go to the doctor though cause i smacked the shet outta my head and i definitely need to be checked tbh.
Safe engine brakes you got to watch out for that.
Noisy engine yeah sounds like you're rattling.
I'm reviewing diesel diesel has substantially different than gasoline diesel is for long-haul gasoline is for short. The motor is a Dodge truck EcoDiesel not Mercedes-Benz. It's a dog around town and when you have to replace the two catalytic converters you're not going to like it sooty on a lot of short trips around town:(
He just ready to get rid of the car too high getting work done on it
