Positive Review

"PERFORMANCE, SAFETY, LOOKS & SUPERB CUSTOMER SERV"

I've had my 2015 GLA for over a year. I drove it across country and back three weeks after purchasing. It is just a pleasure to drive - handling like a sports car, with interior comfort, great on gas mileage with plenty of room. The exterior/interior are gorgeous. The features are so easy to use - navigation etc. Mercedes Benz customer service is unbeatable. I feel I'm taken care of in every way possible through Embrace, road service, etc. I don't feel like "oh you bought your car, now good luck." When I drive this car I feel confident that if I needed help, I'd get it right away. Everyone compliments me on this vehicle.

Critical Review

"Terrible wind noise"

I cannot express in words my disappointment and disgust in my recent experience with Mercedes-Benz. I will never own another model. It is certainly not what I would expect from a luxury car or a first-class dealership. I researched for several weeks before choosing to purchase and finally deciding on the GLA. The fact that it was a “Mercedes” made the decision easier for me as I knew it would be a car that would be flawless and have unmatched resale value. I purchase a new 2016 GLA 250 on July 18, 2016. After driving my brand new GLA for only 2 weeks, I took it in for an unusual wind noise coming from the driver's side window. The service manager, salesman, sales manager and others, all concur that it is a "factory defect" and "something I will have to live with". They have made no attempts to remedy this situation. I have started the process to cancel my extended warranty and I will be selling my GLA as soon as possible. I have since read countless other reports of the same wind noise from other owners. DO NOT PURCHASE A GLA!

Problems!
Pros

Nice size, handled well,

Cons

All problems listed

I leased this 2020 brand new from dealership. It had many problems from transmission to gasket to switching into Sport mode. Over the 3 year lease it spent many weeks in the service dept. Was happy to turn it in this month. Would not recommend.

Love it but its small
Pros

Handles great

Cons

Small

I bought this unicorn of a car for a great price - single owner, always dealer maintained. When I went to the dealer for service the service guy tried to get me to sell it to him - that's how lucky I was. Anyway this is my first luxury car and now I think I'll be stuck buying MB going forward because I love it so much. The good: handles great, super fast, universe blue metallic color is rare so it really stands out. I've put about 12k miles on it and have had no concerns or problems. Loaded with almost everything except sunroof (this was a base model). The less good: its small for sure. the cargo area is very compact so you can't pack a whole lot in it. I often double and triple check before switching lanes because I feel like I can't see easily (even though it does have lane sensors)

Pros

Fun to drive and less mileage

Cons

Nibe

This car is amazing and drives well. The great thing about this car is it is relatively new, has all teh features and comforts you can ask for. Everything works well and has been serviced correctly so far. It is also very nice looking on top of all the other positives.

Nicely balanced SUV, er car
Pros

Driving, styling, comfort.

Cons

Space use, maintenance costs.

I have had two GLA’s, the GLA45AMG and this one a GLA 250 4Matic. The good points: 1. Styling. I like the cross between hot hatch and SUV. This is my favorite size to drive. I like the interior which is classy and sporty but not stuffy and dull. 2. Utility. The car is sporty, drives smoothly, uses space well and does multiple duties from picking up groceries, to carrying kayaks and today was Home Depot where a box went through the back seat pass through for skis. With all weather matts its a true summer and winter car. 3. Comfort. For me, the perfect blend of sporty but absorbing bumps well and good sound proofing for a car this size. Seats are a hair on the hard side but adjust well. 4. Mileage and driving. The car is fun to drive and I often get 38mpg or more in the mountains here. Not sure why as I got lower mileage driving to Florida but with reasonable driving you get good performance and efficiency which reflects great engineering to me. Drawbacks 1. Space usage: The center console is small. It uses a dial which takes space and dexterity to use the screen while dialing through a hundred spots on the screen. Touch is much easier. On the plus they do not have the gross waste of space with silly trackpads like the GLC and other models. The bins in the door are a hair too narrow and things fall down and hard to get your hand in there to retrieve them. Limited glove box and need more cubby holes in the valuable middle spaces. 2. The electronics are a bit hard to use. The menus are not clear, Apple Car Play disappears and is not easy to find and bring back. No icon for it. You hit the TEL button twice and spin a dial. Crazy. The USB’s should be up front under instruments but are deep in the console. That’s very outdated but it’s not terrible. 3. Maintenance costs at dealerships will bring tears to your eyes. If you buy a Mercedes find out how much the A and B services are. They approach a grand for a B service in my area and no, you don’t get new tires with it. You don’t even get new wipers unless you add $200.00. A normal thing like a dead battery replacement was $636.00 and another $223.00 if I wanted a diagnostic hookup (I took a chance it was only the battery). From now on I will go to independents or at least price different dealerships if you want to buy one. Independents really bring the prices down from my research. If your car is out of warranty that is how I would go and even in warranty for services.

I could not drive in Dallas stupid what’s left off

I could not drive it home, and I had no idea what it did not have….no heated seats, no push button for entrance, no fx radio….that, was the worse…..love driving smaller car, no large gloveboxes…not enough storage….just feel squshed up….my last mb had it all….my Cadillac had it all….very disappointed…could let go back, but 300- miles away…didn’t know what to do..now stuck. Love my 2018 besides that. Too much junk to read just to get music, phone, etc. .wish I could trade….disappointed in heated seats, and especially radio…..had one month….

Most Dependable car I have owned so far
Pros

Great performance, great all wheel drive

Cons

A little small in trunk and back seat

I have owned the car for over 5 years and it has been trouble free, only needing wear items such as tires, brakes, and oil changes.
