Positive Review
This is automobile perfection as far as I am concerned. Having owned multiple C6 Corvettes including a Z06, I give this car a very good grade on performance and handling. This car is rock solid, air tight, smooth as silk, silent and every square inch of the interior oozes with world class quality. Combine those things with the amazing performance level and this car really rocks. I have had zero problems. I smile from ear to ear every time I settle into the driver's seat and hit the start button. The seats are amazingly comfortable. The electronics are simple to operate if you just spend a few minutes learning the routine. The safety features lead the industry. The Harmon Kardon stereo is top notch. Styling is awesome. This car turns heads every time it goes down the road. Zero complaints. Buy the car if you are considering it.
Critical Review
Satisfied with ride, handling, power but car has been to dealer for 4 plus times for several days at a time for electrical problems. The car's beauty is not worth the poor NAV system and even worse reliability

My 2014 CLS 550 4 Matic is a dream to drive, and has never been in the shop, except oil changes…Car parks itself..
Fast. Sexy. Reliable. Comfortable.
It doesn’t come with the Batman costume.
I’ve owned both the 550 and now upgraded to the 63 S and I have to say, that AMG performance and sleek style and class is in a league of its own. This baby gets more compliments than a BTS appearance! You can choose to drive in comfort mode, sports, or ludicrous speed (sport +). It handles corners better than batman’s bat-cycle coming out of its shell, without a need for side boosters to force directional switching. With this car, you might as well be Batman yourself fighting crimes! Each time I go through a security checkpoint through a military base, everyone, and I mean every single time, I get a “I love your car,” or, “wow, what a ride,” compliment. My ride is Renntech Stage 2 tuned, so I’m sitting on 716 HP, but you don’t need that much since you start stock at 577 HP. Unless you’re out there trying to do a race with The Flash, keeping your CLS63 AMG S stock is enough to satisfy your need for power, speed, and enjoyment. The only downside to this car, same with any other coupe, is the trunk space. There is a drop-down back seat option if you need more space for the trunk. Also, as with any cars, I suggest you find yourself a friend that can help you with maintenance because going to the dealership (even with their loaner option) will cost you big bucks. But hey, if you can afford a car like this, you can afford to maintain it. Another problem I’ve encountered with CLS is the O2 sensors always going bad. Aside from that, the beast is exactly what it is…a beautiful monster!
The only thing you need to watch when buying is make sure that you check to see if the car is a 4 matic mine isn't so when the snow comes I don't think this rear wheel car is going to make it halfway up my block in Philadelphia. So besides that it's a real head turner..
Beautiful!
Expensive to maintain
Looking for a mechanic to take care of my car instead of the dealership because the dealership is very expensive!
Styling comfort reliability
Nothing
One of the finest most flawless cars I’ve ever owned. Every option offered and a rare full Designo interior and exterior car. This car has never needed to taken in for a single issues.
Love my car. CLS550 best car I have ever owned. Fort washington dealer where so great.
Style, comfort, luxury and sporty
Slightly more expensive to maintain .
This is the 2nd CLS I have bought from a Mercedes dealer under their certified program. First was a 2015 CLS-400 and current is a 2018 CLS-500, both 4MATIC. I highly recommend the 4MATIC option if you live in any area with occasional snow or wet and cold weather. Benefits to buying certified are additional 12 months “bumper to bumper” warranty, full 166 point inspection with required replacement of any parts (tires, etc.) that do not meet certain specifications, and generally low miles. If you have the time, you will eventually find a 3-year old car with very low miles (< 20,000) that looks and runs like new, and at about 60-65% of the new car price. The extra 12 month warranty provides peace of mind, and is transferable. As for performance, styling and “class”, this model is exactly what I was looking for in a luxury 4-door...not to big, not to small and plenty sporty. I was past the “executive 4-door” phase of car ownership and this fit the bill perfectly.
Everything
Needed the 2014 infotainment upgrade
This is the most loaded CLS550. It’s a rare full Designo (which is a very rare car to find) The Designo interior is worth the upgrade. Full S Class all the way. The car has been tuned to out perform a CLS63 and is just about the sexiest 4 door car out. Worth every penny and still as perfect as the day it rolled off the showroom floor.
