Positive Review
This is my 3rd AMG and my 7th Mercedes. It is by far the best of the batch so far. Uncompromising, intoxicating performance is the only way to describe it. If you want performance this is it. The key to any super car purchase is to get ANY used car inspected by a Mercedes dealer before purchase, it is money well spent. I paid out about $1000.00 to various dealers before purchasing my CL. All used cars have issues but if one is properly maintained and serviced it should give years of satisfaction. I have heard the complainers stories about the ABC system for example and in most cases they have not followed factory service and maintenance (IE the reservoir on the system has a low and high mark, the low mark is the fluid level WITH THE ENGINE OFF the high mark IS WITH THE ENGINE ON. Over fill this system and it will fail!) just take it to Mercedes and have it serviced as needed! It is probably wise to avoid "boy racer" or modified cars as this car needs NO additions (except maybe paddle shifters instead of buttons)
Critical Review
Ok I have had my 2003 CL500 Sport Package for 9 years now and these are my experiences both good and Bad. 1st thing to remember if you count on someone else to Fix and Maintain your vehicles you will find Significant dents in your savings account Continuously. First large issue "ABC Suspension Package" It is not if, but when it will fail... The average cost to fix a basic problem at the Dealership will average 1,000 to 2,000 per visit with no guarantee they will permanently fix the issue. Arguably there is Replacement standard coil over suspensions The best one that I have found is a permeant solution I have also been able to cross reference front and rear sway bars and this has made the suspension much better then the flawed ABC. Luckily that is the only super Huge issue everything else is fairly simple solutions. Crankshaft position sensor 75 for part less then 10 minutes to fix. Gearshift Locking in Park approx. 250 solution and a 3 hour DIY job. Trunk AKA Boot auto close and open Approx. 50 dollar fix and 3 to 5 hour leak trouble shooting. and last but not least tires wearing out in 15,000 miles that is just a mercedes issue. Otherwise This car is absolutely a blast to drive and if you eliminate the Speed Limiter you can easily get to 160MPH and and Faster with Z rated tires on a Track. The motor Trans and Rear end Are Bullett Proof with Average to Below average maintenance. Fun cars that can be had for under $4,000 USD with Minor issues. But only worth it if you are a DIY type of person. PLenty of parts as they share parts with S class but also some extremely rare parts due to low production

Fast, fun luxurious, and a decent size trunk.
Rube Goldberg cup holder.
I bought this on a whim. Had been in storage for years… only 54K mileage. Believe it or not it stickered for 122K in 03. I bought New tires, battery, driver side switch plate, trunk opener “stuff.” The car now really works. I would take it cross country. My kids laugh because I have an iPod hooked into the audio… but it works. Germans back then weren’t into cup holders, that’s for sure. But, driving this car is a blast. Incredible detail, fit and finish. I won’t say what I paid, except it was 4 figures. 150mph, high luxury, still a “looker,” my wife even likes it. Very cool car!
Stylish love driving it

Best dollar buy on the market, today
If 12 mpg is too expensive, don't buy this car
Hit the the accelerator at 60 and you are at 100 before you know it. This is one killer of a car. Not dangerously killer, but excitingly killer. luxury touches everywhere, You will not believe the quality of craftsmanship that is exhibited in every nook and cranny of this car.If you can find one for sale, buy it. you will not be disappointed.
Best car
Fast, powerful, and luxurious
May be too much car for the those not familiar
They only imported 52 of these cars in the 2006 model of the CL65...THEY ARE VERY RARE.The 6 liter V-12 engine is the same one used in the $300,000 Maybach. Excellence is the key everywhere in this car. What other car has a suede leather headliner?
Perfect combination of performance and luxury. The power is breathtaking and the options and features just make this car such a pleasure to drive. It blows your socks off, then, neatly folds them and puts them away in your sock drawer.
Style, luxury performance vale for money
none so far.....
