Positive Review
My Mazda 6 I touring 170 hp is more than enough power for any condition...very quick and super regular gas milage. The seats lack long trip comfort. MY ONLY COMPLAINT: My M6 HAS A MELTING DASHBOARD! Due to the small number of complaints MAZDA CORP has received;they will not recall or repair the condition, since it is out of the 36,000 mile warranty! A really good car.
Critical Review
I bought my 2009 Mazda 6 i Sport used as a Certified Pre-owned Vehicle with about 34K miles. The deal I got was too good to pass up. Unfortunately it really was too good to be true. This dealer did a poor job of inspecting the car and Mazda did a poor job of enineering it. I have had the car for less than two months and it has been to the dealer six times for several different problems. The keyless entry remote died and was replaced, then the new replacement lasted one week before it died. The steering column had a rattle that required the intermediate shaft to be removed and lubed. The headlights and taillihts all fogged up and were replaced. While at idle the engine makes an intermitted squealing noise. That was found to be a "Characteristic of the vehicle", but the mechanic found that my refrigerant was low because of a leak in the air conditioning system. The latch on the center console door fell off and landed in the cupholder. Currently the volume switch on the steering column will sometimes change the radio station and the tire pressure monitoring system will give a warning of a flat tire while all the tire pressures are set perfectly. The driver's seat isn't particularly comfortable and if you put the front windows down when they are wet, then back up the inside of the windows will also get wet and smeared. Iv'e had 16 cars as old as a 1980 model and none of them ever did that. Also the 4 cyl. engine is very noisy. It sounds like valve knock, but apparently that is also "normal" for a Mazda. My car now has 39k miles and I will be looking forward to getting rid of it in a couple months. You might as well ignore reviews from people who have had their car for a short time and whose cars have less than 30k miles unless they have had problems. I've spent several years in the auto service industry and I know a piece of junk when I see it.

Bought it with 215,000. Now 218,000 problem free. Bought for $3000. No regrets. Looks good, plenty of power. Tranny and engine excellent. Ac ice cold. Very stable. Only good things to say
Very cheap offers by KBP. It does not value the car properly! The cut the price to more than 30% of the private selling.
Safe, reliable, really fun to drive.
Keyed entry, headlight bulb replacement
I owned this car for 7 years, it never once left me stranded. I loved driving it (it was a 6 speed manual) and maintenance wasn't too expensive. I say "second best car" because I bought a Mazdaspeed 6 a little over a year ago, which is definitely the best car I've ever had, but the Mazda6 was a close runner up. I gifted this car to my daughter when she turned 16, knowing it was a safe and reliable car. It proved it. Two weeks ago, an 18 wheeler merged on top of her, totaling the car. She walked away with a few bumps and bruises, and of course some whiplash, but considering what the alternative could have been, I am so grateful for the safety features that saved my kid. We are looking to replace it with the exact same car. My only complaints are a couple of the designs that I consider flaws. There is only a keyed entry on the driver's side, there isn't even a keyed entry to the trunk. Meaning, if the dash button to pop the trunk doesn't work, and you don't have the keyless entry key (which we didn't), you have to take the backseats completely out to access the trunk. This wasn't an issue until, you know, it was wrecked and the trunk release button didn't work. That was an adventure. The other design flaw is the headlights. It was ridiculous trying to replace the bulbs. You either have to jack the car up and take the wheel completely off, OR remove the bumper. Thankfully, my hands are smaller, so I could manage by turning the wheel completely to one side and removing the wheel well cover, but it was still a pain. I eventually just started taking it to a garage to have them do it for me. Even with these drawbacks, I highly recommend this car and this brand. I am a loyal Mazda fan, I intend to keep my Mazdaspeed 6 for as long as possible (until I can't find parts for it anymore), and I am hoping I can find a replacement for the car we just lost.
This car has treated me so well throughout the 7 years of driving it! Sadly, somebody pulled out in front of my beautiful car which resulted in the cars totaling. This car saved mine and my dogs lives. Some things you cannot control, it's best to just be prepared. Buying a safe vehicle just might save your life someday. I would 100% recommend Mazda to anybody I know!
It handles like a bigger car smooth ride .
No GPS built in. Side mirrors fixed and don't move
My first Mazda was a super nice Millenia and really loved the car but I eventually traded it for the 2010 Mazda 6 model with sun roof and leather interior in tan. The exterior color is Black Cherry and this color has people still making positive comments asking what color is that? Both front have power seats with heated bottom. Big trunk . Good gas mileage. My wife drives this car now and just today she went to the full service car wash and the attendant made a real fuss over the car and condition. He asked her if she would consider selling it LOL. She quickly answered absolutely no way. I have this car serviced regularly and got 2 recalls for it over the years and Mazda took care of what needed to be corrected. I have no intentions on selling or trading it in as long as it gives us pleasure to drive . I also no have a 2015 Mazda CX-5 in the Grand Touring model in Black with Taupe leather interior. I love how it handles and performs. If I am in the market for a new car in the future I will look at Mazda first before other brands. I am a Mazda 100% fan.
Had problems but it was chill still…car is really fast and a cheap alternative to a more expensive sport car
Beautiful color, drives great.
No cons
I am very pleased with this car. It had only one recall and that was the airbag recall. It performs great and looks beautiful. I had the belt changed and antifreeze, just your normal things. Eventually I will buy a newer model, lol.
Very reliable with plenty of pickup for passing.
The road noise is noticable & tiring on long drive
I've owned my 2010 Mazda6 since it was new. Incredibly reliable at 190K miles. I have replaced the serpentine belt to avoid failure and only had the "check engine" light up once. I bought and used a spray cleaner for the oxygen mass flow sensor located by the air filter. Problem solved. Took care of recalls including a new dashboard free when it got sticky. Regular oil changes, 4 sets of tires and 3 batteries. Still getting 23 mpg around town and 30 mpg on the highway, most always exceeding the speed limit. I will hopefully have it for a couple more years before I get a Mazda SUV.
