Positive Review

"Excellant vehicle"

Have owned this vehicle since 2008, when I purchased had 6000 miles, now has 77,000. Recently had new brakes installed (first time) also had drivers side arm rest recovered. Paint has had three blotches appear (about size of softball. However mechanically has been outstanding with no problems. Had alignment year ago and that is basically all I have done to this vehicle. Car has plenty of power, gets good gas mileage, in short has been a superb car.

VS

Critical Review

"This is my first car, pros and cons"

I bought this car because it was cheap and looks good. The tricky part is the mileage of the car 101000. The reason is that you need to change a lot to make it run smooth. I have done with transmission oil and coolant system, not yet with fuel deposit, it may not be necessary. The car has poor interior with noisy parts when moving around. Chairs are not really comfortable. On the highway, it was less balance.

2006 Mazda 6s Sport Wagon
Pros

handling, reliability, fuel mileage,

Cons

no sunroof

I bought my 2006 Mazda 6s Sport Wagon in early 2008, for $14,500 with about 40,000 miles on it. It had the Ford DOHC 3-liter Duratech V-6 and a shiftable 6-speed A/T. 2006 was the last year Mazda offered a Mazda 6 wagon in the US. I put another 90,000 miles on it, and it was running perfectly, until fall, 2023 when it got rear-ended by a full-sized pickup truck and was totaled by the insurance company (got $7K for it). It was my second favorite car (first was a 4WD '86 Nissan Stanza Wagon) of the 30 cars I've owned over 60+ years. Other than two sets of Michelin tires, one full brake job, a set of shocks/struts, a couple of wheel alignments, and routine Castrol full-synthetic oil changes, everything worked perfectly for 131,000 miles. No rust anywhere. Never needed plugs or any seal work, or any other maintenance. It would cruise all day at 85 MPH and get 27MPG while doing so. My only regret is that it didn't have a sunroof. Wish I could find another one!

Repair needed
Pros

Nice looking car

Cons

Has lots of repairs

It has a hole in muffler that will need replaced. That means I will have to replace entire exhaust system in order to pass emissions test. And that may require additional repairs.
