A common theme in full-size luxury sedans is conservative, restrained styling, but that’s not the case with the exotic Maserati Quattroporte. It has a distinct Italian flair setting it apart from rivals like the BMW 7 Series and Mercedes-Benz S-Class. This luxury sedan sounds as good as it looks with its Ferrari-derived V6 and V8 engine options, each of which features a pair of turbochargers. The Quattroporte is an Italian sports car with 4-door practicality.
The Kelley Blue Book Fair Purchase Price for any individual used vehicle can vary greatly according to mileage, condition, location, and other factors, but here's a general idea of what buyers are currently paying for used 2023 Maserati Quattroporte models when purchasing from a dealership.
The Maserati Quattroporte doesn’t disappoint from behind the wheel, living up to the brand’s storied name. In testing all three Ferrari-derived engine configurations, we never got bored with any of them.
It starts with a twin-turbo V6 rated at 345 horsepower. It hustles this big sedan with quick acceleration and no shortage of passing power on the highway. Upgrading to the Modena models nets a sportier tuning of the same V6 yielding 424 horsepower and adding the option of the Q4 all-wheel-drive (AWD) system. The Q4 model has better traction and shaves 0.2 seconds off the 0-60 mph time.
Finally, there’s the V8-powered Trofeo model. This 572-hp beast is for drivers craving muscular performance in a 4-door Italian sports car. It sprints from 0-60 mph in 4.2 seconds and boasts a top speed of 203 mph.
The Quattroporte comes with what Maserati calls a Skyhook adaptive suspension system. The suspension has a nice level of firmness, and the steering is nicely weighted in a way that enthusiasts will appreciate.
It’s hard to talk about any Maserati without mentioning the audible experience of the engines. Both the V6 and V8 deliver intoxicating exhaust notes that make us want to rev it to the redline at every opportunity.
The interior of the Quattroporte is nice by anyone’s standards, but the quality is a bit mixed for a luxury car with a 6-digit starting price. We have high expectations for interior quality in this class, and we can’t help but notice some parts bin sharing with cheaper products in the Stellantis family from brands like Dodge and Jeep. That’s forgivable in value-oriented luxury vehicles, but nobody buys a Maserati because it’s a bargain.
That being said, the Quattroporte benefits from comfortable seats, quality leathers, and several customizability options. A few premium interior material options include Zegna silk, an Alcantara headliner, Pieno Fiore leather, carbon fiber trim, and more.
The seating space is pretty roomy in the Quattroporte, but it’s not as spacious as some rivals in this class, like the BMW 7 Series and Mercedes-Benz S-Class. The rear seat legroom is closer to a midsize luxury sedan. The trunk is also a little small for a sedan this size.
The exterior styling is a strong suit of the Maserati Quattroporte. It forgoes the typically restrained aesthetics in this class and instead uses the curvy, exotic styling you’d want to see on an Italian luxury car. Maserati calls this a “race-bred” sedan, and that’s exactly what it looks like.
Thrilling engines
The Quattroporte offers two exciting Ferrari-derived engines. The base engine is a V6, or there’s an optional V8, and they’re both turbocharged. These deliver exciting performance and are some of the best-sounding engines in this class.
Exotic styling
The relatively sedate styling of most of the full-size luxury sedan class is suitable for flying under the radar, but the Quattroporte is a classy sedan that turns heads. This Maserati won’t blend in with a crowd of German luxury cars.
Q4 AWD system
The Q4 all-wheel-drive system available on the Modena trim improves the traction of the Quattroporte while making the acceleration a bit quicker compared to rear-wheel drive.
Skyhook suspension
The Skyhook adaptive suspension system makes the Quattroporte more comfortable on the highway and sportier in the corners.
Sportivo Package
The Sportivo Package available for the Modena trim makes the interior more like the V8-powered Trofeo model. It includes sporty 12-way power seats with memory, an Alcantara headliner, and power-adjustable Inox sport pedals.
Maserati Intelligent Assistant
The Maserati Intelligent Assistant infotainment system uses a 10.1-inch screen with an Android Automotive operating system and Amazon Alexa voice assistant. It’s mated to your choice of a Harman Kardon or Bowers & Wilkins premium audio system.
The 2023 Maserati Quattroporte lineup features two excellent, aurally addictive engines.
The standard twin-turbo V6 in the Quattroporte is available in two different tunings. The base GT model makes 345 horsepower, and upgrading to the Modena models brings a pretty significant boost up to 424 hp.
The GT model is RWD-only, and the Modena trim is the only one available with the Q4 AWD system. Every Quattroporte uses an 8-speed automatic transmission.

The top Trofeo model offers peak performance in a Maserati sedan. The twin-turbo V8 under the hood cranks out 572 horsepower and comes with other performance upgrades like a Corsa drive mode. It uses the same 8-speed automatic transmission as the V6 and comes exclusively with RWD.
