The Maserati Quattroporte is one of the more exotic choices in full-size luxury sedans. More mainstream rivals like the BMW 7 Series, Mercedes-Benz S-Class, and Audi A8 use much more conservative styling, while the Quattroporte has the aesthetic flair of an Italian sports car. With a choice of two Ferrari-derived turbocharged engines under the hood, it has the performance to match its appearance.
Once you get past the visual and audible excitement of the Quattroporte, it has a few flaws that hold it back from being a class leader. For starters, the quality of the interior is not as lovely as one should expect from a car in this price range. Also, the back seats and the trunk lack space compared to the expansive back seats of most flagship luxury sedans.
The main virtues of the Maserati Quattroporte are the look, the sound, and the ability to say you drive a Maserati. If you’re looking for the highest level of luxury in a big sedan, the most modern tech features, or even the best performance, most of the Quattroporte’s rivals have it beaten.
2022 Maserati Quattroporte pricing starts at $32,417 for the Quattroporte GT Sedan 4D, which had a starting MSRP of $100,395 when new. The range-topping 2022 Quattroporte Trofeo Sedan 4D starts at $64,236 today, originally priced from $149,595.

The Kelley Blue Book Fair Purchase Price for any individual used vehicle can vary greatly according to mileage, condition, location, and other factors. The prices here reflect what buyers are currently paying for used 2022 Maserati Quattroporte models in typical condition when purchasing from a dealership. These prices are updated weekly.
The Maserati Quattroporte is a car that lets you choose your level of performance based on your taste and your budget. However, no matter which one you go with, you’re getting an exciting sport sedan that’s a thrill to drive.
A twin-turbo V6 engine powers the base GT model. The standard Skyhook adaptive suspension makes the Quattroporte agile around corners for such a big sedan and comfortable in long-distance cruising. Upgrading to the Modena model adds more power and torque to the same V6 in the GT trim, and it’s available with the Q4 all-wheel-drive system.
If you’re looking for peak performance in a Maserati sedan, you’ll want the Quattroporte Trofeo. Not only is it powered by a 580-horsepower twin-turbo V8 engine, but it also includes a Corsa drive mode that unlocks its true potential.
The Quattroporte is never a boring car to drive, but be warned: It’s not very good on gas.
The interior of the 2022 Maserati Quattroporte is unquestionably luxurious. However, when judged by the standards of a flagship luxury sedan with a starting price near the $100,000 mark, the interior quality is just okay. There are some clear cases of parts-bin sharing with cheaper Stellantis products from brands like Chrysler and Jeep. Typically, that’s forgivable, but when you’re spending this much money on a car, you expect a level of exclusivity.
We like the variety of customization options in this interior. Just a few options include Zegna silk, Pieno Fiore leather, an Alcantara headliner, open-pore wood trim, carbon fiber trim, and more. Whether you want the interior to feel sporty, luxurious, or something in-between, you can have it in the Quattroporte.
An available Executive Package upgrades the back seats, making them heated, ventilated, and fully power-adjustable, including reclining. However, there isn’t that much room to recline. The back seat space in the Quattroporte is pretty roomy but not as expansive as most rivals like the BMW 7 Series and Audi A8. The trunk is also a bit small for a sedan this size.
The exterior styling is one of the main selling points of the Maserati Quattroporte. The name “Quattroporte” means “four doors” in Italian, and this design is a classy execution of a 4-door Maserati. The body lines are elegant but still hint at the brand’s racing pedigree. The same goes for the bold front end with a massive trident emblem in the grille.
The look of the car changes a bit depending on which trim you go with. The base GT trim emphasizes a premium look, while the Modena model has a sportier aesthetic with a more aggressive front fascia. The high-performance Trofeo model has a darker look with dark chrome accents, red portholes, and unique wheels.
The size of the Maserati Quattroporte is in line with most other full-size luxury sedans. Its dimensions are similar to the BMW 7 Series, Mercedes-Benz S-Class, and Audi A8.
FERRARI-DERIVED ENGINES
The turbocharged V6 and V8 engines that power the Quattroporte deliver satisfying power and possibly the most exquisite exhaust notes you’ll ever hear.
SKYHOOK SUSPENSION
This adaptive suspension system makes the Quattroporte satisfying to drive on winding back roads, straight highways, or in other driving conditions.
Since it’s a flagship luxury sedan, the Maserati Quattroporte is pretty well-equipped, even at the base GT trim. The standard powertrain is a turbocharged V6 engine mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission sending power to the rear wheels. Other standard features include Skyhook adaptive suspension, a limited-slip differential, adaptive full LED headlights, LED taillights, a sunroof, leather upholstery with accent stitching, open-pore wood trim, heated front seats, a memory driver’s seat, a heated steering wheel, power rear sunshades, 19-inch wheels, remote start, wireless charging, and an analog clock.
The standard Maserati Intelligent Assistant infotainment system has a 10.1-inch screen loaded with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Amazon Alexa, and navigation. A Harman/Kardon 10-speaker premium audio system also comes standard.
Standard safety tech includes blind-spot monitoring, front and rear parking sensors, full-speed adaptive cruise control, a surround-view camera, automatic emergency braking, Highway Assist, and traffic sign recognition.
As you work your way up the model range, the performance and aesthetics of the Quattroporte get sportier. The Modena model uses a more aggressively tuned version of the turbo V6 that powers the GT trim. It also has a sporty appearance package, a sport steering wheel, and high-gloss piano black wood trim. This is the only trim with available all-wheel drive.
The Trofeo model sits at the top of the Quattroporte model range with a mighty 580-horsepower V8 engine. Other upgrades include a Corsa drive mode, carbon fiber exterior accents, high-gloss carbon fiber twill interior trim, Pieno Fiore leather upholstery, an Alcantara headliner, ventilated front seats, Inox sport pedals, and more.
There are many packages and individual options available, allowing you to customize the interior and exterior of your Quattroporte. For example, the Nerissimo Package adds a darker look and a GT Sport Package for the GT model makes it look more like the Modena trim.
The Executive Package brings significant improvements to the back seats. Rear-seat passengers are treated to heated, ventilated, and power-adjustable seating with reclining. However, most rivals offer even fancier back seats with entertainment systems and more room to recline.
You get your choice of a turbocharged V6 or turbocharged V8 under the hood of the Maserati Quattroporte. These excellent engines are derived from Ferrari engines, and they have the performance to back up that claim.
The turbo V6 is available in two different tunings. The base GT model makes 345 horsepower, and the Modena model improves that number to 424 horsepower for more excitement. The heart-pounding V8 in the Trofeo model makes 580 horsepower.
Rear-wheel drive is standard on most Quattroporte models, but the Modena trim is available with the Q4 all-wheel-drive system. All Quattroporte models are equipped with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
