Positive Review
The GTS is by far the most exciting and comfortable 4 door sport high end sedan I have driven. Having driven Bentleys, Mercedes, BMWs, Porsches and others, this car captures performance and luxury. Handling is incredible and overall appointments as expected. The one takeaway I would leave you with is the audio system and navigation interface is lacking. Taken from Chrysler, they diminished the ultimate statement that could have been made. Audio quality is terrible and I am looking how to enhance it without losing the interior original look.
Critical Review
I hope no one here has to go through this ! Just providing some info that I believe is relevant to owners and potential owners! I purchased a 2014 Maserati Quattroporte with 29,154 miles on Sept 21, 2017 which was still under the manufactures warranty. · On Sept 27 2017, I brought the car to the Maserati dealer due to a loud knocking sound in the engine that started Sept 25 2017 · The Maserati dealer was unable to locate the source of the noise and contacted Maserati of USA for further guidance · Maserati USA requested the vehicle service records and stated the engine needed to be replaced since the noise could not be located · Maserati USA approved a complete motor replacement under the manufactures warranty which covered the full cost of parts and labor on the vehicle with 29,479 miles · The Maserati dealer disclosed a 1 year parts warranty on the engine and one year warranty on labor On June 15th 2020, My newly manufactured engine provided by Maserati abruptly stalled while driving and forcing the car in Neutral. So towed to the dealer. · The Maserati dealer contacted me on June 16th 2020, indicating that the Engine that was just swapped out a bit over 2 years ago and only been driven for 14,265 miles (Current odometer = 43,744) has seized and is need of another replacement · The dealer advised that I will need to open a case with Maserati USA since the engine was already replaced once under warranty, but is no longer covered under the manufacture or extended parts warranty provided during the first replacement · Service records were once again provided indicating the engine was serviced on 10/12/2018 with 36,492 miles (7,013 miles on new engine) and then again on 7/6/2019 with 39,750 miles (only 3,258 more miles = 10,271miles on new engine) · Maserati USA is approving a second engine Swap at 43,744 miles on the car, but only 14,265 miles on the Brand New Engine and has committed to covering the cost of the new Engine, but Labor costs approximated to be $5,300 would be my responsibility To summarize – Maserati was unable to identify the source of the initial engine noise in Sept of 2017, which resulted in the first motor swap at 29,479 miles. The defective motor was replaced with a BRAND NEW (not refurbished or used) motor from the Maserati production line. After ONLY 14,744 miles of drive time on a BRAND NEW engine, it has now failed. Maserati is willing to provide a replacement motor at no cost which is being considered a “good will” (as if I somehow contributed to a failed engine at 14k) replacement and since the original parts warranty has expired, I ( the consumer) will need to cover the Labor cost. I am not however understanding how there can be 2 engines go bad, (the 2nd at only 14k) and there is no investigation into the cause. Can there be an underlying reason for the engine failure that was not found during the initial investigation in 2017? Does Maserati have a service assurance department that completes RTF repair analysis to find any manufacturing defects? Is the Mean time between failure (MTBF) numbers of the parts used in Maserati Engines not rated to sustain a Maserati engine for more than 14K miles and this is considered normal AFR (annual failure rates)? As a manufacturer, I would expect these to be a concern and evaluate the root cause instead of considering a car engine failing at 14K miles BAU, and asking the consumer to pay for the labor costs to replace the engine. The bigger concern is, how can a consumer be asked to have any confidence in a car manufacture, and the safety and reliability of its product with 2 engine swaps. What assurances would be given that this will not happen in another 2 years’ time, out of warranty and considered out of pocket costs. + Update Feb 2021--- Had to get a lawyer to recover the money for the labor costs, and after months of back and forth with Maserati, they finally settled on reimbursing me the labor fees, but I still have no reassurances that their wont be a 3rd engine failure and also had to sign an agreement that waives my right to another lawsuit against Maserati. The sad reality is, I feel that selling this car is now my only option, but just making it someone else’s problem.

Power and response and a big enough car for my 6'4" body. and people can sit behind me! Interior is amazing...who puts velvet on the ceiling of a car - who leather wraps handle on the ceiling....Italians do! Amazing Leather interior...and there are so few on the road....Feel like a rock star....

This is my absolute favorite car that I have ever owned and I have had a few that I enjoyed! I was in the BMW 7 for 8 years but I was always ready for something new and then.... I have the Nerissimo package that uses a black chrome instead of the shiny stuff. This car is larger than it feels and will get up and go with superior handling. It is a 5 star Automobile in every category and the only car I have had that I wanted to keep!!

Auto is 2019 1 of 50 special edition models that has special paint and interior as well as chrome calipers and special wheels. B&W sound system. Interior is Emilio Zegna and hand stitched seats. Executive super car with the muscle power to go with it. Ferrari engine. Last of a breed of finely crafted super cars. Car is also coated in Xpel film. Best part, low miles and highway driven (high-speed) miles at 8,300 total. That's less than 3,000 miles per year. Garaged and covered at all times when parked. Detailed professionally monthly. All service records by Maserati.

Finally bought a 2014 gts with 37k on it from second owner. Wow I should have got one a decade ago! The nicest best drivers car I have ever driven, and I've had about 40 cars. I actually love that fact that it has some Chrysler parts and is low tech. The repair and maint. Cost are much better than the 2013 end older. The car is very very very smooth and comfortable on the hwy.. I drove 1100 miles home with an average of 27.5mpg! Going 72 mph. The exclusivity is why you buy the car, the driving experience is way you will never buy a lesser car again. I already want an sq4 for my winter car next. The car is near 150k new, but I bought at 6 yrs old with 37k for $27000. And the 4 or maint. Was already done. First owner lost 100k in 3 yrs. Second lost 30k in 2.5 yrs. I expect to own 5 yrs and sell for 20k so my cost should be about 12k for 5 yrs with maint. That's cheaper than a Camry or accord. I will consider a cpo as I did this time, but wanted a gts and could not find a cpo for under 60k. The sq4 at 3 yrs old as a cpo with 30k in it is about 40k with 3 yrs unlimited miles warrant. That's hard to beat. And at 6 yrs old as worth about 22k so 6k a yr to own one with warrant is great. My advise, GET ONE! Shop well. Get a well maintained one. Service records. Find one that was garaged, the windows will not be delaminated and the dash will not be cracked, both the most common flaws in found while hunting. City mph is bad 13-15 mpg. But who cares. Btw the easiest car to wash. The way the lines flow its so nice to wash it by hand. Even the 21" rim's are designed to be easy to clean.

The Maserati is a fun car to drive. The Ferrari engine and exhaust sound is unbelievable. Wonderful exterior and interior lines. This is a drivers car and not a car for techies. It's also the least expensive way to have a Ferrari engine.

Higher maintenance costs
This car is a great combination of luxury and power. Most enjoyable luxury sedan I have ever driven. Leave the radio off because the exhaust notes on this car are all you need to hear. Driving a Maserati is truly exclusive and fun.
