Positive Review

"The Proof is in the Reviews"

I have been driving for over 35 years and owed well over 100 cars. With that said, from the top end a Rolls Royce to the bottom end a Chevrolet Vega (a car that GM would like to forget)My Town Car is head and shoulders above them all...a ride like the Rolls, reliability like a 1960's Dodge Dart and all for a modest price. If you can find a relatively low mile example...BUY IT. These engines will go for 400,000 miles...possibly why they are used as Taxi's, Police cruisers and Limo's. The Town Car is a very under appreciated and touted vehicle. This is my second one and can't imagine going back to a Mercedes or Jag after the faithful service that these Lincolns provide. I would strongly recommend this vehicle to anyone looking for trouble free motoring and luxurious comfort. I think an effort to get Ford to bring back these wonderful cars is necessary. Wouldn't buy anything else!!

Critical Review

"second LIncoln and last one"

First Lincoln valve seals leaked, cost to fix huge. 03 Lincoln Transmission out with 140000 miles. Never owned a car before this that had a transmission go out. Over head control panel for garage doors quit working, cant find replacement. rear alert system quit working, wheel rims dont hold up.

Most reliable Car I’ve ever owned
Pros

The ride is very plush the styling is clean professional and confident

Cons

Issues with front end suspension Ball Joints are a weak point

I was very surprised by this car being a Japanese car lover more than American I never thought I would ever say this is the best American Car to own. Ride is plush smooth and responsive reliable maintenance is about average anywhere from $500.00-$1000.00 for moderate maintenance $50-$300 for minor maintenance I purchased my 2010 Lincoln Town Car 4 years ago with 374,000 miles now I’m at 471,300 miles I’m just barely looking at valve guides going out but with the age of the engine and the amount of idle hours which is 5,970 idle hours it puts the engine true miles past 650,000 miles so I’ll end up dropping a remanufactured engine into and keep this car another 600,000 miles for my future kids. Today you don’t hear cars going anywhere near a half a million miles cars are made cheap and to break I’ve put some money into her but that’s to be expected with this many miles but I’d highly recommend buy any Lincoln town car from 2007-2011 these were the best years and the long wheel base will last twice as long due to being built with heavy duty parts

The same vehicle with more miles in the same condition are selling for $13,000. KBB says its worth $2500. Good luck finding a 1998 Lincoln town car signature with 45,000 miles in excellent condition for 2500 bucks. 😆 🤣 😂

I bought this baby used with 42,000 miles on it. Now it has 176,000 miles on it and it is the best car I have ever owned. The air ride makes this a very comfortable car for traveling. Ride all day and get out the car quite fresh. My son didn't believe me until he drove it about 650 one day. He said that he didn't feel beat up like he had in other cars. I have replaced the cruise control switches and the driver side door controls for the locks and windows. One issue (appears Lincoln tried to save $) is with the heat/ac. There are a few doors in the dash which directs the air flow (heat,ac, defrost ) and they used cheap foam which deteriorates and they don't open and close as they should. Thus, driving in hot weather and all of a sudden hot air comes pouring out of the vents. The repair is expensive. So I figured out how to work around it. The EPA mileage rating is way lower than it should be. I believe the lowest I have ever seen on a road trip is 25 mpg and have seen 29 mpg at Interstate Hwy. speeds. This vehicle has a low rolling resistance which contributes to the better than reported fuel ratings. Forget about braking where you normally would and drop you foot off the accelerator earlier because it will coast and coast. As long as I can repair it, I will keep driving it. I smile every time I get in this car!
