"A Pragmatic American Luxury"

I had 5 criteria to shop for our SUV, 1) 2nd row captains chair with pass thru, 2) Usable 3rd row for long drives, 3) Panoramic moon roof, 4) AWD, 5) Drive-feel like a car and not intimidating. I have considered BMW X7, Mercedes GLS 450, Infinity QX80, Toyota Sequoia, Landcruiser, Lexus LX 570, GX460, Cadillac Escalade, GMC Yukon, Chevy Tahoe, Ford Expedition Limited and Lincoln Navigator. I ended up buying a Lincoln Navigator Reserve, which best serves my 4 criteria. I was very close to buying the Ford Expedition Limited, but with all the options the price seemed high enough which prompted me to look into the Lincoln. Although the Lincoln was more expensive, the styling and the features steered me (pun intended) to the Navigator Reserve. I have been driving the Navigator Reserve for a month now, about 800 miles. Everyone in the family loves the car (feels like a car). It is certainly the epitome of American luxury, but in a very pragmatic sense. The car is designed as such where everything is nicely done, nothing feels an afterthought or excess. The drive is quiet, relaxing, plenty of power, easy maneuverability with short turning radius for a car of this size. The ride is comfortable, roomy and pleasant. The overall technology both mechanical and electronics feels like updated with time.

VS

Critical Review

"The car is different from what you expect."

The car's acceleration is very different from the announced numbers and is not at all within this specification. In addition, the engine gets a bit hot on long trips. The base model does not have a button to close the back door.

Please save your money
Pros

Looks cool

Cons

Everything

We bought a 2018 navigator about 2 years ago with 50k on it. Seemed in really good shape, one owner, no accidents… what a pile of garbage. Water pump, wheel hub, panoramic roof, hood hydraulics, suspension, multiple coolant leaks, turbos, you name it.. it broke. Please save your money and never buy Lincoln again. Ever.

Pros

Beautiful color, nice finish

Cons

Very unreliable

Simple and clear: technical failure 5000 miles the engine fail. 7000 miles the computer fail. 7500 miles the transmission fail Service deplorable Brand new Blak label Lincoln Navigator top of the line. Delivered with…scratched paint and with shoe prints on the white leather seats. They fixed the scratches after we complained. Two flat tires in 3 years. We called Lincoln concierge for assistance and they never answered. Thank you AAA they are always available and fast! Oil change… driving on interstate we saw white smoke coming from our exhaust pipe. The service didn’t fix the filters and gaskets. We lost a little oil … This car stayed more in the shop for repairs than we enjoyed driving it.

Pros

Luxurious

Cons

Poor motor

Beware. After 50,000 miles, our luxurious 2019 Navigator needs a new transmission. Ridiculous. Ford gave us a 10 day rental - it’s going to be 4 more weeks before we get the car back.

Family Perfect
Pros

Amazing looks, solid ride

Cons

Older technology

I am second owner of 2020 Black Label Long version. After 6 month of ownership, I’m satisfied with everything this vehicle has to offer. I was looking to get Escalade but they were priced very unreasonable so I went for Lincoln. I had no issues so far and family feet perfectly for long trips. I like front seats with heat and massage option, it is very comfortable for me. The only dislike is suspension, I wish it was more smooth and more comfortable. Technology is definitely behind Cadillac or German rivals, but that is why price is not as high.

Nice but missing what you would expect
Pros

Seats are where it's at, they're fantastic.

Cons

Not a kid car, no cup holders. Gas mileage is terr

Very nice car but leaves you scratching your head at some of the ways they threw cheap accessories in to the car. Cup holders are non-existent for being a car that's obviously designed to ferry around kids. We drove a Yukon prior to this and I think there were three cup holders to every one person in it, this one you're lucky to have one cup holder and the middle row barely has access to them since they're on the floor. Gas mileage is atrocious but who cares, you drive a Navigator right? Wrong, you might as well reserve your own pump as much time as you'll be spending there.

Converted me back to American Luxury

Incredible vehicle. Comfortable, spacious, smooth and well-appointed. Performs well (mainly mountain driving) for its size. Love it. After several Land Cruisers and MB SUVs, I am happy to have found Lincoln.
