Positive Review

"A good solid car"

The Lincoln LS with a Jaguar designed V8 is a fun car. When its working well. It's really a car that needs to be run long and hard. It does best when that promise is kept. Drive it 3000 miles and it will smile and thank you. On the highway it gets 26-27 MPG @ 80 MPH. Not bad at all. Around town this drops to 14 or so. I have owned it since 2008, so I know it well. Here's the rub, if you just drive it to the market and back for a year or so, you start getting ignition coil failures. I do not know why, maybe they get too hot. Hard to say. You end up replacing all the coils and the plugs and usually its good to go for another couple of years, but you can extend to goodness by driving it long and hard. It has wonderful leather seats and great air conditioning. The windows are nice and thick so its quite. If you buy one of these, be a good mechanic or expect to pay big bucks for coil changes. Do it yourself and save. Warning though, its not that easy. That being said there is plenty of help on youtube and the internet in general. I would stick to the so called 2nd generation which I think is 2004 thru 2006 (the last year made). Mine still looks good as I keep it in the garage. Happy driving.

Critical Review

"Reliable vehicle"

Got a used 2001 LS v8 bought with 35k and now have 105k, only had 1 major repair problem, coolant resivor starts to leaks around 80k. Gas mileage 18MPG, pass CA smog, done all my maintenance, fluid flushes and tune up at 90K apart from that oil changes every 3,000 with mobile one synthetic. Plastic interior is cheap, buttons brake, door light lense brake, center console kinda cheap.

V8 power and handling to spare.
Cons

I have none!

This vehicle has been an absolute joy to drive. Plenty of power and drives like a sports car. Doesn't even breathe hard driving through mountain terrain. Took out the premium sound system and had a new system installed with the backup camera in addition to all Sirius/xm and integrated phone system. It is black-on-black and still draws compliments wherever we go.

Poor judgement on price

In my opinion I think that my car’s value is way more thin the blue book offers on the private party offer well I know it is because I just sold mine for 5k no problems listed for maybe a week so just wanted to leave a review other thin that the page was easy and I liked it but I believe that whoever owns this site really ant car people and don’t appreciate the true value of a vehicle.

LEM0N
Pros

Lincolns are great cars until the repairs.

Cons

If buy a lincoln, know the work history 1st.

After I perchance this car in 2017 it became a lemon just about every time I've it was used. I tell you it became a headache going through the problems.I spent just about twice what I payed for in parts and labor. I do have a list but I just bracket down in general speaking. POWER STEERING UNIT, SPARK PLUGS & IGNITION COIL, AIR CONDITION UNIT,NEW TIRES AND L.F. WINDOW BROKEN AND R.F. WINDOW MOTOR that I took care of it myself and not mention the rest of repairs UPPER TONE ARMS BOTH SIDES. Now I decided to sell it knowing that needed a BREAKS AND A TRANSMISSION so I can get revealed from this. I drove to Car Max in Modesto,Ca. to sell my car.r that car.

Great car

Bought my '06 LS in 2011 and still going strong. Every few years have to replace the ignition coils & spark plugs but other than that it's been pretty low maintenance. It's been my favorite car, sadly I'll have to eventually get something newer.
