Positive Review
I took delivery on my 2020 Aviator (custom order-out) in November 2019. I consider myself a very educated, conscientious vehicle shopper and have researching the purchase of a mid-size, luxury SUV for the past year. I need to admit that I've been a very loyal GM customer having purchased 13 New GM vehicles within our household over the past 30 years. Let it be known that my reason from turning away from GM was NOT because of any bad experiences with their products. Simply stated, I've become increasingly frustrated with GMs failure to seriously differentiate the designs between its product lines which include Chevrolet, GMC, Buick, and Cadillac. With the exception of some simple exterior/interior cues, GM seems to insist on sharing one common parts-bin amongst all of its product divisions. As a result, many of the GM products seem to look alike and appear very "dated". I sincerely was searching for a vehicle to "wow" me and absolutely stand-out from the crowd of Mid-Size Luxury SUVs. I eventually decided to focus-in on the two major domestic luxury brands; Lincoln and Cadillac. Having been a lifelong (hard-core) GM customer, it was a pivotal point in my life when I realized that all my comparison research (which included test drives) as well as my common sense, was screaming the obvious fact that these two vehicles were not even close! I can only imply that if you are considering the Aviator versus the XT6 for purchase, it would be a regretful mistake not to choose the Lincoln Aviator. This is how I arrived at my conclusion: First, GM has demonstrated some serious neglect in the XT6 engineering by fast-tracking its production. As a result, the XT6 became a stretched version of the XT5, which limited its development, therefore forcing serious comprises in its design, quality, comfort and ultimate luxury. Key points where the XT6 falls short when compared are, the use of the C1XX (stretched XT5) front wheel drive platform, use of the 3.6L naturally aspirated V6 engine, no option for a Hybrid variant engine and a base MSRP that is already within 2K of the Aviator. Ultimately, the XT6 is a well-dressed and rebadged Enclave, Traverse or Acadia that presents itself with the simplest differences in grills, tailgates and dashboards. In sharp contrast, the new Lincoln Aviator is truly a redesigned luxury vehicle that cannot be mistaken for the 2020 Ford Explorer (which shares the same platform). Lincoln did some serious homework and accomplished some serious engineering goals. Not only has Lincoln separated itself brilliantly from its Ford brethren, but it truly put a lot of distance between itself and the Cadillac XT6 as well as every other in the same Class. The Aviator's exterior design, stance and interior are far better executed. The fit and finish is simply on par with the finest European brands. The powertrain, with its “in-charge” base Twin-Turbocharged 400 HP V-6 engine is more capable and efficient. Additionally, there is a Hybrid option. The interior is comprised of materials and detail that exhibit higher quality and comfort, which will surely put the other brands on-notice. The digital instrumentation, infotainment, sound system and safety features are outstanding. It is obvious that the Lincoln Aviator was meticulously designed from bottom up, while not being rushed into production. More personally, as I approach the 3K mile mark on the odometer, my Aviator has experienced some relatively brutal Wisconsin winter weather. The AWD system has demonstrated confidence and reassurance. I have yet to have had ANY occurrence of mechanical or “tech” related issues with my vehicle. I am exceptionally pleased with its comfort, quietness and performance around the City, on the multi-lane Interstate Highway System and on the back Country roads. With my opinion aside, only future sales will definitively dictate who will come out ahead. I simply encourage careful research and common sense before you buy!
Critical Review
Bought a Black Label Grand Touring (hybrid) in May 2020. In 5 months, it's been in for repairs 4 times, and I've had to execute a warranty claim on the charging cable twice. The car will randomly not charge, not start, or a combination of the two. I could not be more disappointed in this car, and I would strongly recommend that if you are reading this review, you avoid Lincoln at all costs. The Lincoln Aviator is one issue after the next.

Roomy, Luxury feel, 400hp engine, Exterior looks, Sound System, massage seats
smaller 3rd row
We absolutely love our 2025 Lincoln Aviator. It is so comfortable and luxurious. We love the interior set up, the storage, the ride, the finishes. We love how it looks, and the v-6 400hp engine. This vehicle makes trips to the store not such a chore and trips are fantastic. We have not been disapplointed at all with our Aviator and highly recommend it as a luxury SUV to take a look at. We looked and test drove many. The Aviator had more to offer and the ride was just so good. So if you are looking at a BMW SUV, Volvo, Audi or Cadillac...give the Aviator a shot, it will surprise you.
Pretty much everything is fantastic, but the interior is stellar, and the performance is fantastic. Plus, she looks great.
Can't think of anything at this time.
I have owned my new to me 2023 Lincoln Aviator Reserve for 7 days, currently. It has the Luxury package, Elements package, and Jet package. It is in the stunning Red Diamond Metallic with the ebony interior. In the luxury car realm, the Aviator truly has one of THE best interiors. The 30-way perfect position seats are perfect. It isn't cluttered with buttons or screens for everything. All of the climate functions can be controlled with simple buttons and so can basic stereo functions. It is clean and easy to use and classy. The screen is of the perfect size without overpowering the interior. Everything you need is easily found. The Revel 28-speaker stereo is simply amazing. It is consistantly rated one of the 2 best in the industry, with the difference being personal preference. All of the materials are wonderful to look at, and touch. The 400hp/415lbft twin turbo V6 really gets this thing moving, and the handling, in Excite, is pretty amazing for a 4900lb SUV. Frankly, there is nothing that I dislike about it. We purchased it with 25K miles on it, and with the Certified Pre-Owned Lincoln warranty.............. so there are no worries for 100K miles. Frankly, after having owned the 3.5TTV6 in my 2013 Explorer Sport, with ZERO issues in 163K miles, I have no worries about it. Just a great cruiser that can get the blood flowing when you want to.............. and for me, that's often. Yes, I driver spiritedly.
Love everything this car has to offer. Styling comfort and reliability.
Have not yet discovered any cons. I guess you could say with all the features and technology there is the potential for more things to go wrong in the future.
Purchased about 3 weeks ago and have no regrets. Very comfortable and fun to drive.
Would not purchase this after 9 break downs. Look good but constantly in need of repairs. You will also have to wait weeks for a loaner car due to to many customer with break downs.
extremely comfortable
a little stiff in the suspension (SUV)
Did my research and was impressed with the Lincoln Aviator Reserve. The cabin was extremely comfortable, and well equipped. However, I didn't drive it. My significant other did and I was a passenger. I knew it had the get up and go, since it was a twin turbo with a 6 cylinder. What I'm not thrilled about it the noise in the cabin. You can hear the shifting of each gear, and also the vehicle rides stiff. I think I'm spoiled with my other SUV, which was the large model, instead of the scaled down Aviator. I keep telling myself I'll get used to it, because I can't even imagine telling my partner, I would like to trade it in for something else. :( Hopefully I'll get used to it..... It is a beautiful SUV and I love the 3rd row seating.
Good looking, fast, and comfortable
Tons of electrical issues
From the beginning, had issues with electric windows, camera glitching or completely not working, parking lines disappearing, indoor dome lights coming on and not being able to turn off, wind shield wiper timing off or at times, going full throttle with barely any rain, loose connections, air conditioning not working, had to have entire info center replaced due to glitches, and there is something off about the hood. I've had several luxury suvs and this is the only car where the hood isn't tightly attached to the frame causing the hood to visibly shake when going over 75 mph. It is already not very aerodynamic due to front being bugger but wow, during windy days, I seriously pray as I drive hoping the hood doesn't just rip right off. Out of all the luxury cars I've owned and the dealerships I've used, Lincoln is far the worst due to lack of parts, service taking the longest of all dealerships I've dealt with, shortage of loaners, and bad quality repairs. Even the quick trip (whatever it is called) oil is bad. It's too bad it has so many issues because it's a beautiful, powerful and very comfortable.
Great MPG
Price
The Aviator black label Grand touring hybrid is the best hidden secret in the SUV world. If you don't drive more then 20 miles to work this will save you a lot in gas. I am getting around 40-45 MPG which this vehicle. Best hybrid on the market for the size and power you get with this vehicle.
styling, comfort ,
reliability
Bought it new starting having electronic problems at 12,000. Kept taking in for repair. Ford could not fix the problems and ended up buying the car back but charged me $10,000 for usage which I think was not right!!
