"Solid hybrid, some room to improve"

I bought the Lexus UX 250h with premium package back in February. The main thing I wanted was a hybrid vehicle with AWD. While I haven't tested the 'limited' AWD yet, so far the vehicle has provided a pleasant experience. Exterior: Sharp lines and handsome headlights Driving: Smooth ride with plenty of pickup to not make you feel like you are struggling to get on the highway or pass somebody in the left lane. Not as zippy as some vehicles, but you don't feel you are lacking power either. Handling is responsive, especially in sport mode. Interior and cargo: Nice details including the ribbing on the seat backs in the front. It is definitely a little tighter than my previous vehicle (mid-size SUV) but that was too be expected. The front seats offer plenty of room for somebody 6' tall or under, but the rear seats could definitely be seen as tight. I do find the seats have some firmer edges that on longer car rides can get uncomfortable on the thighs. One other complaint I have is size and position of the cup holders. Larger water bottles don't fit at all and tall water bottles get in the way of the climate controls. Cargo: Cargo space is also a bit limited with the seats up, especially with the hybrid battery making for a higher lift in the rear. My test for cargo is always do my golf clubs fit and for this vehicle I have to fold a seat down to get them in there without issue. Not a big deal for me as I rarely have more than 1 passenger. Fuel efficiency: Despite it's rating, I get about 37 mpg on average. I have had some trips get me to 40 mpg, but I've gotten as low as 35 mpg so far. My main driving is suburban with a mix of town/city streets and some short highway stints. One thing that is a little annoying to me is how early the gas light comes on. With a 10.5 gallon tank I would expect to get through at least 9 gallons before the light starts yelling at me. In reality I find even when I take it down to E, I am only filling 8.5-9 gallons into the tank and I don't have the guts to test it. I'll be asking about it at my first service appointment. Technology: the track pad interface for the dash is definitely a bit distracting. It would be better mixed with a touch screen. I definitely find my eyes coming off the road if I start trying to play around too much to find a certain playlist or podcast. Fortunately, if you have Apple Play, Siri is pretty useful to replace that. The climate control works really well though and I don't find the piano keys an issue for that. I do have a wireless charge pad in the car and the position of the cup holders is in the way of that if I try to use it. Last issue I have had is with the Enform app. Every now and then it just stops tracking my car and loses its remote connectivity to the vehicle. I can still use the remote start from the key fob, but not the app and have to call to get it reset. I'm told this is a software bug and I hope it gets fixed soon. Overall, this has been a good experience so far. For the price and the quality of the vehicle I don't regret the purchase. It definitely meets my needs and provides an enjoyable driving experience 9 out of 10 times.

"Overpriced vehicle"

Cheap Vehicle... Already rattle noises coming from the dashboard. The service department said they can't fix it. Not happy at all with this.

Great Entry To Luxury

Coming into the luxury car brands with this vehicle is sweet! Its semi-autonomy is handy, active cruise and lane keep/tracing has me spoiled! Stylish inside and out! Speakers could use some work as well as some of the touchpads known issues. The safety features of the vehicle outshine all the finesse though. Prevented a few accidents to say the least. Sports mode makes it more fun to drive and the premium add-ons for the price are unbeatable! Love my UX 200! Ride is smooth enough, once tires are replaced from run flat it'll be even creamier.

Perfect for its Purpose
Pros

Reliable, predictable, efficient

Cons

Options/packages

I see so many people reviewing this car saying its too small or not fast enough. The reality is, it's not meant to be quick and roomy!! If you want a quick vehicle, buy a sports sedan. If you want a vehicle with tons of storage, buy a full size SUV. The truth is, this Lexus is PERFECT for what it is supposed to be. It is fuel efficient, nimble, versatile, and is a driver's car. Not to mention, and perhaps most importantly, it is reliable. After owning a German car that would give me a heart attack every time I took it in for service, this UXh is a warm welcome into the world of minimal servicing and repairs. All things considered, the Lexus UXh is a wonderful car if you are looking for premium fit and finish, luxury feel, great fuel economy, and well above average reliability (plus, it is probably the best looking subcompact SUV on the market). Toss in Lexus' standard safety features (the best in the business), excellent service, and thoughtful design, and you've got a real winner here.

Pros

Cons

Tight entrance and trunk

No lighting inside, door coffee cup is darkness inside this car.! No leg extension and front seat is a bit narrow. The driver entrance is a pain because of the sharp angle of the dashboard. Run flat tires !! break the ride comfort. No 360 camera no wifi hot spot. Gas mpg higher than expect. No panoramic sun roof.
