Positive Review

"Great vehicle. Not a flash in the pan."

Extremely luxurious SUV. Every vehicle has its trade-offs. The main ones for the LX 570 are fuel efficiency and price. Those are off-set by a classy SUV with real off-road capability with unmatched reliability. I test drove the Range Rover but couldn't get over the well documented reliability concerns. The LX 570's fit and finish matches that of the Range Rover.

Critical Review

"Overpriced, gas-guzzling, clunky, dinosaur!"

One word to describe this SUV compared to others in its class would be: Overpriced. You are simply NOT getting anything worth its hefty tag of 100K! Lets start with what it is LACKING that SUVs 1/2 its price have.....NO Lane Assist, NO Panoramic Sunroof or Power Sunshade (manual only), NO Quiet Cabin (I clearly hear all road noise and the super irritating noise of the fans whenever the cooled/heated seats or cabin controls are on anything but low (no excuse for this CHEAP design), NO Touch Pad screens, NO Color Changing Ambient Lighting, NO Choice of Engines, NO Keypad for phone dialing, NO Easy Interface (I am very good with technology but this thing is a joke), NO Rear USB Ports, NO Digital Clock (only a hard-to-read analog one). In addition, it has poor leg room in third due to bad floor design, Poor Cargo Space due to poorly designed folding seats, and ready for this one???!???...it comes with a car starter, but you only get to use it for ONE YEAR before they force you to pay for their Lexus Enform App to keep it going! NO yearly 300 App = NO Starter!! The drive is so clunky and tipsy around turns that I would compare it to navigating a tall cinder block on lego wheels. Oh, and the split truck is actually a big pain b/c they forgot to add power to the lower hatch, so if you have something heavy in your arms, you have to set it on the ground to manually open the dang lower trunk first! The controls are in horrible spots (coffee cups will block the single USB port and phone cubby, and no other place for your phone. I have to constantly take my eyes off the road to try to navigate through the dinosaur limited options screen and buttons. Seriously, every question I have for Lexus on if there is something I might be missing, is met with a resounding NO! Unless you think it is ok to pay 100K for a vehicle that raises and lowers (no big deal since many other SUVs do this too), and youre OK with getting 10MPG b/c they didnt bother to improve consumption, then save yourself from this headache and buy something else. Anything else.

Luxury LS
Pros

Reliable,great comfort, sleek looking

Cons

Poor gas mileage

This is about the best SUV I’ve owned. I’ve owned 7 Lexus’s, this one tops them ALL. Quality is outstanding. The reliability is proven. I purchased the blackened version. It gets a lot of attention. All I can say is it is the BEST. You won’t be disappointed.

Dependable luxury SUV

A Lexus is for those that truly appreciate driving in stylish comfort. The ride is smooth and it drives more like a Lexus sedan as it doesn’t feel heavy when accelerating. As every Lexus I have ever owned is, this car is incredibly reliable. You can’t beat luxurious, comfortable, roomy, smooth and reliable.

A Whole Lot of Vehicle if You Can Afford It
Pros

Roomy, comfortable, durable, capable

Cons

Not for poor people

Over-engineered to survive the harshest climates in the world, the Lexus LX is more than adequate for just about anyone's needs. No other vehicle this size has nearly as comfortable ride--not Mercedes, not BMW, not Cadillac--and it is customizable with the press of a button. By far the most reliable vehicle available from the most reliable manufacturer in the world, all you have to do is change the oil and tires and you should be good for 300,000 miles at least. Now, you DO have to keep filling up the gas tank quite frequently. It would have been nice if the tank could hold another 10 gallons but as far as complaints go, fuel is about it--this is NOT an efficient vehicle so be prepared.

I love this car, unfortunately we grew out of it, we have grandkids now and need a new car. We are interested in a Lexus SUV… we need a all wheel drive

Walks the talk.
Pros

Safety, reliability, resale, comfort, capability

Cons

Mpg, that’s it for the cons.

The 2014 Lexus LX 570 performs and acts as advertised and expected. It’s a Toyota Land Cruiser in a tuxedo. Love and owned both the LX and LC. Performs admirably on the road, dishing out large amounts of comfort. Off-road, to hiking trails or up skiing, the LX doesn’t break a sweat. Sure, it is a 3 ton or 6,000 lb. beast that drinks gas at a rate of 12-17 mpg, but that’s the price to pay for great luxury, safety and reliability. At least OPEC sent me a box of candy as a “thank you” when I bought it. Plus, and I hate to say it, but if anyone’s going to run in to me in this vehicle or I’m going to run into anyone, there’s no better vehicle to be in when there’s contact on the road. It’s heavy because it’s made extremely well, and made of steel, not aluminum. Even though a friend of mine has the upgraded Mark Levinson stereo 19 speakers, he cut a hole in the passenger side door to add in an additional speaker and told me there was a massive steel bar going across the whole door to protect the passenger. He couldn’t believe it and now calls it his tank. It might be overkill for most owners, but for whatever reason you decide to own one, rest assured there’s a reason why it’s incredibly highly respected in Australia, Russia, and all over Saudi Arabia where I actually took one to find and photograph wild camels running through the desert. In the end, it’s a pleasure to own…and is what it is, and does that beautifully. It’s not a Miata in handling, a Prius with mileage or a BMW M3 in performance, but I’d rather be in this that any vehicle I can think of for a long distance haul. I bought mine when it was 6 1/2 years old, with 91,000 miles and in beautiful shape. I put on 20,000 miles since and can sell it today for $10,000 more than I bought it for. Resale is great. One can’t say that about 99.5% of the vehicles out there. Being now 8 years old, it’s obviously not the most modern, efficient or luxury laden. It is still, however, an incredibly reliable beast of a truck that continues to be safe, comfortable, reliable and can go anywhere… I read last year that this vehicle and the Land Cruiser are the most likely vehicles compared to all others to hit 200,000++ miles. Before I bought it, I called the Toyota dealer and then the Lexus dealer, asked for the service departments and then asked them what vehicles come in consistently with the highest miles. Toyota said Land Cruiser, the Lexus dealer said the LX 570. We just love this thing.

Pros

Quiet, smooth, reliable and great resale

Cons

None

This is my third Lexus LX. Each one gets more improved, refined and better. I can't wait for the new 2022 LX model. I tempt myself to consider other brands but I always end up with the Lexus. Reliable, and great resale value.
