Positive Review
I'm a guy with well above average interest in cars. In the last 20 years, I have owned six cars in the GS/E-Class/5-Series class. This is my third Lexus GS and it is an outstanding car. Two points first. 1. We need to be honest and admit that the Germans overprice their cars. Not to take anything away from them, but it has become increasingly difficult to rationally justify the premium. They do not hold their value better than Lexus and their quality is not up to the Lexus bar. If you like the styling, features, driving characteristics, cache or ergonomics of one car over another, buy it and enjoy. Just be honest that you are not spending that much more for a better car. 2. Historically, the biggest difference between Lexus and the Germans was ride and handling. As I have gotten a little older (50 is now in the rearview mirror) the harshness of the German ride got harder and harder to take. I want to feel the road, but around the greater Chicagoland area, feeling the full scourge of every pothole can make a guy really cranky when he gets out of his fancy car. The current generation GS is a marked improvement in driving capabilities over its predecessors, particularly handling. The historical gap between the GS and its german competitors is nowhere near where it once was. I haven't shipped the car over to Nurburgring to run the loop and doubt anyone else will do that either. But for daily driving and hitting twisty country roads, it is tough to beat the GS in the handling category. As to ride, I don't think you can select any car in this class and judge one better than another. They are different. The GS has great rigidity while not rattling bones. I prefer that choice for reasons stated above. The car has every bell and whistle one could want. I learned years ago that buying an extended warranty is a waste of money as nothing ever goes wrong with Lexus cars. The new styling is OK. I liked the previous generation more but think the minor tweaks to the current generation made for 2016 make a major improvement. The car feels luxurious and no one confuses it with a Taurus or Accord. Overall, both thumbs way up.
Critical Review
This was my first Lexus, having driven Maximas since 1990. In fact I used to get a new one every five years. I stopped buying them because the quality went way down along with the resale value while the price kept going up. That said, I decided I would spring for a Lexus. First I liked the styling until I noticed that I can't tell the difference between an ES and a GS. Second for a vehicle that costs this much it has way too many rattles in the dashboard and way too much tire noise enters the cabin. I actually bought new Michelins thinking this would improve it, it did not. Overall the car drives fine though not really exciting. I find the rattles and tire noise very annoying so I am looking forward to replacing it if these can't be fixed.

Trading it i today and know I am going to miss it :(. This car was super fun to drive and looked incredibly luxurious inside.
Everything
Not for a taller person with taller passengers on a daily basis.
I've had my Lexus for several years. I absolutely love all of its features considering it's over 10 years old. I bought it used and the only issues I've had has been a AWD sensor going out. I've had other issues but not because of the car itself. It had some aftermarket 19in wheels on low profile tires that would fall apart if a fruit fly landed on them. I looked for the factory wheels for it but they were more expensive than afternoon 20s with thicker tires. I currently have 245/35R20 Vogues on it and they've been great. If i could change anything on it I would give it more power, I'd love a V8 engine in it, back seats that fold down and more room inside. I'm 6'2" with a 10 year old son at 5ft who struggles to sit behind me unless I drive like a 4'5" elderly person with suffering from vision loss. Despite that, this car gets a 10 out of 10 just for being reliable. It's guaranteed to do its job like candy making a kid with ADHD extra hyper.
Simply amazing. Stylish and handling are exceptional. Brakes stop on a dime. Whether driving in Eco, normal or sport mode, the car can handle it. I only use the sport mode when getting on the freeway. Premium gas for this quality of vehicle is expected. Took some getting use to the mouse control feature but love the large screen. No complaints so far.

The GS had a great run of years . My first 2 were a 2015 and 2018 F Sport. I loved them so much I got one of the 210 made 2020 blackine editions. It is safely put away
Reliability, luxury, handling
Fuel cost - requires premium
Just a great combination of features. Not outstanding in any one aspect but solid throughout. Wonderful, comfortable interior. Road feel is firm but not jarring (normal mode mellow but not cushy, sport plus mode noticeably firmer but still usable). Acceleration is quite good (not very quick off the line but exhilirating and strong over 3500RPM). Handling is very good for a car this size and is the thing I like best about the car, especially in sport plus. Road noise in the cabin noise is minimal, and creaks and rattles inside the car are minimal as well, especially considering the car is 10 years old. Reliability has been perfect over the 18K I've driven the car. I think the early years of the 4th generation had classic good looks, and IMO the F Sports look much better than the non F Sports. Running costs are not low. I get 23MPG in mixed driving which is not bad but premium fuel is not cheap. I'm easy on tires and brakes but these are known to wear fast on the GS. I've driven almost all the other luxury brands and can't knock any of them. IMO only BMW drives "better" in most of their models, but the difference is not worth the compromise in reliability. So glad I bought this car. Was very close to buying a CRV so glad I didn't.
Reliable, Comfortable, Spacious, AWD
Gas mileage, Back seats don’t fold down
Beautiful car inside and out. Fairly quiet and comfortable only one small rattle/vibration after all the miles (fixed with loud music. Even the base audio is very good). I have had zero issues with this car other than a recall on the A/C not blowing out off all the vents (fixed in a couple days with free rental) If you care about gas mileage however look elsewhere! I average 20 mpg which isn’t the worst but this car recommends premium fuel. Gas prices being the way they are makes filing this car up for one week to be around $80-$90. Overall very satisfied but may get something more fuel efficient in the future. I’ll be missing the power though it’s a decently quick car.
Quiet, comfortable, a pleasure to drive
sun roof rattle
Quiet comfortable ride for long distances, Very reliable with no substantive issues over the life of the car. plenty of power and tight suspension, a pleasure to drive.
Great handling, comfortable ride, reliable.
trunk height a little meager, though deep.
The Lexas GS f-sport is a great car with lots of amenities like lane departure warning, front collision warning, backup camera, front side and rear audible sensors, auto.rain sensing wipers, auto parking brakes and mark levinson sound system and lots more. When driven in sports plus mode its a lot of fun as the steering, power and suspension are all accentuated and the driving feels tight and very controlled. Most of all the riding is very good ,comfortable and the reliability is stellar. I believe this model is no longer made (?) so I'm looking forward to a newer version if
