Positive Review
The car is quick and fast, handles well. It’s very appealing to the eye. The car technology is very complicated to learn...and some technology we’ve never used because it’s difficult to learn...such as automatic parking. We had to have a tech come to our home after one week to offer more coaching on how to drive the car. That’s ridiculous. The layered technology is challenging to learn and to operate while driving. The smaller gas tank is a nuisance. Too many gas stops. My wife loves how the car looks. I’m ok with it, but we had too many “bugs” that needed in-shop computer repairs. I’m looking forward to the end of the lease to turn it in. I feel the value wasn’t there for the inflated $90k price tag.
Critical Review
Absolutely horrible car, Range Rover is know to be unreliable but my god I couldn’t imagine that it would be this bad. At 44,000 the car broke down, it needed a full engine replacement, brake job and countless other issues like screen constantly freezing, interior things breaking, radio doesn’t turn off even after turning the car off and locking it. On top of that Range Rovers don’t last past 60,000 without major complications. In my case it couldn’t make it to 50,000 miles. If this was any other brand I would think I got a lemon but being a Range Rover this is just normal issues. Mine is a diesel and the car tells me to change the oil every 17,000 miles. Before it broke down, I asked the dealership how often I should get the oil changed and he said the car will tell you but these diesels go 17,000 miles between changes so that’s what I did. Then my car breaks down and needs an engine replacement the same dealership then tells me I should’ve been getting the oil changed every 10,000 miles. ???? So don’t trust the car?? Anyways, horrible car and nothing about is nice enough or special enough to be worth all the trouble that comes with it

Fast and sturdy. Only drawback... Passenger side door has no UNLOCK button for other passengers to re-enter car, you have to unlock from driver's side only. :(

Small back seat
Overall great SUV I really have enjoyed having this car. The only thing that I would change is the back seat is a little small but other than that I love it. It’s such a head turner!
Excellent car, no issues since I owned in 2020. Luxury interior, very good performance. Steady on road, great handling, enjoyable drive, very reliable.
Sleek style, fun to drive
WAAAAY too many repair issues for a high-end brand
I was warned. I read the reviews and thought some of the quality issues that Range Rover is famous for were being overblown. Just in case, I bought the extended warranty. Instead, I wish I’d (a) bought a different car or (b) leased it for 2 years because I would gladly turn this car back to JLR and say, “it’s your problem now”. Is it a beautiful vehicle? Yes, it turns heads everywhere it goes. Does it feel like a very nice luxury car that is fun to drive? Sure does. However, in 18 months of ownership, I’ve already had 4 major issues with the car. This is stark contrast to my old BMX X5, which was 9 years old and never had a single issue. Also, the screens on the Range Rover has so many software bugs that it’s a wonder if there is any QA team at all. This is a closed software system (they own the hardware) so it is shameful for the Range Rover engineering team to have continual issues of screens failing, getting “stuck”, turning black in the middle of driving, losing Apple Play connectivity in the middle of driving, etc. I’ve had cheap Hyundai rental cars that are more solidly engineered than this.
Quiet
Love my Landrover Velar. It’s the most comfortable auto that I have ever driven. It’s quiet, comfortable and stylish! I haven’t had any issues and love driving it around town.
Nice looking vehicle
Terrible mechanical issues
Our 2019 Velar has been in shop too many times for major issues. The car has left us stranded beside the road three separate times. There is a reason Range Rover is at the bottom of the list for reliability. The dealer cannot figure out what is going on with all the problems we are having.
Beautiful vehicle
Infotainment system is a bit slow
I have the P-380 R-Dynamic HSE. I’ve had this vehicle for a year and a half and have had zero problems. It is a shame Range Rovers are thought to be so unreliable. I absolutely love my Velar. I’m in my vehicle, traveling to and from the office, for about 2 hours every day, so a well appointed, comfortable, fun to drive vehicle is a must. I would like something a bit roomier, so I placed a custom order for a full size Range Rover in July. The dealer informed me, it is in active production now and I should expect it to be at port the end of January. I will miss my Velar, but I wouldn’t hesitate recommending the Velar to anyone.
