The Land Rover Range Rover Sport midsize luxury SUV delivers impressive performance, remarkable off-road prowess, and a luxurious experience in a handsome wrapper. Pricing starts at $85,075.
Receiving a total makeover for 2023, the current Range Rover Sport models return for 2024 with only minor tweaks. The Range Rover Sport soldiers on with its strikingly handsome exterior wrapping, a lavish cabin, and a series of electric-enhanced powertrains. For those carefree enough to muddy their Ferragamo loafers, the Range Rover Sport can transport adventurers to the most difficult-to-access locations. Yet, it will surely create a buzz when gliding into the valet stand at the country club. We like the Range Rover Sport for its expressive styling, lounge-like interior, and electrified powertrains.
The big news is the addition of the SV grade. It fulfills a similar high-performance role in the Range Rover Sport lineup as the SVR model that Land Rover discontinued in 2022. Notable as the only member of the lineup with a V8, the SV uses a 626-horsepower twin-turbo to deliver a sprint to 60 miles per hour in 3.6 seconds, according to Range Rover’s stopwatch. It includes a high-performance adaptive air suspension, seats that allow occupants to “feel the sound,” and specially tuned suspension. Options include Brembo carbon ceramic brakes and carbon fiber wheels.
The 2024 Land Rover Range Rover Sport has a starting sticker price of $85,075, with the range-topping Range Rover Sport SV Edition One Carbon Bronze kicking off at $181,775. But Kelley Blue Book Fair Purchase Pricing currently suggests paying $3,134 to $7,999 less than MSRP, depending on trim and equipment. These prices are updated weekly.

Before buying the Range Rover Sport, check the Kelley Blue Book Fair Purchase Price to know what you should really pay. The resale value of the Range Rover Sport has historically been average for its segment.
Our time in multiple generations of the Range Rover Sport has included long road trips, thick mud, deep water, loose sand, triple-digit speeds on an active airport runway, and commuting to and from the Kelley Blue Book offices in Southern California traffic. Nothing in the vast Rover domain offers a better mix of performance and comfort.
The best-selling Range Rover Sport, the Dynamic SE, features a 395-horsepower turbocharged 6-cylinder engine capable of moving the party to 60 mph in an impressive 5.4 seconds. Around town, it reacts to throttle and steering inputs with satisfying responsiveness. Freeway speeds are handled with complete stability and calm. The Porsche Cayenne Coupe, BMW X6, and Audi Q8 are each nimbler to varying degrees, but the Range Rover Sport is nevertheless surprisingly enjoyable to drive with verve, and definitely the one we’d choose (again) for a long, fun road trip.
Yet, for all its uptown qualities and Sport moniker, this Range Rover can still get down and dirty. All-wheel-drive hardware and terrain response systems don’t just pull the Range Rover Sport through deep bogs and back-road ruts, they allow the vehicle to conquer them. And wade through water deep enough to reach the door handles. In concept and execution, the Range Rover Sport lives up to all the qualities promised by its very name quite brilliantly.
We’ve spent hundreds of hours driving and evaluating midsize luxury SUVs and the full Range Rover lineup.
Inside the Range Rover Sport, there can be no doubt you are in a midsize luxury SUV. We wouldn’t be surprised to find oriental rugs as floor mats. All the materials are quality, and the craftsmanship is top-notch. Most competitors in this class offer seating for five, as does the Range Rover Sport. Cargo space and second-row legroom are about average for the segment.
Although Range Rover styling over the decades has evolved, we can still recognize the 2024 Range Rover Sport by its basic shape as a Range Rover. We find the flush-mounted side glass and flush door handles add a wonderfully sleek appearance to its flanks.
Terrain Response System
The Range Rover Sport’s Terrain Response System allows the driver to customize the dynamics to suit everything from snow and sand, to mud and rocky terrain. While Land Rover SUVs are expensive pieces of machinery, the brand built its reputation on building go-anywhere vehicles. Don’t let that elegant exterior fool you; the 2023 Sport can venture places that would leave most SUVs stuck.
Adaptive Off-Road Cruise Control
Speaking of going off-road, the adaptive off-road cruise control allows the driver to focus on steering the Sport over rugged terrain, all while throttle and braking inputs are handled by the vehicle. Aided by features like a 3D-surround view camera system, the Range Rover Sport can be positioned with pinpoint accuracy.
Power Seats
Standard are 22-way power-adjustable front seats that are heated, ventilated, and massaging. Adding to the opulence are power-reclining second-row seats.
Surround-View Camera
Also standard across the board is a series of cameras that, when stitched together, provide a 360-degree bird’s-eye view around the vehicle.
Quad-Zone Climate Control
Separating the SUV into four zones — one each for the driver, front passenger, and each of the outboard second-row positions — this available system allows each zone to be set, then automatically maintains a preferred temperature.
Upgraded Audio
This available premium audio system is a 29-speaker Meridian sound system with 1,430 watts of amp power.
The two more-popular Range Rover Sport trim levels (SE and Dynamic SE) use variations of the same turbocharged 6-cylinder engine. For the SE, it delivers 355 horsepower. That number escalates to 395 horsepower for the Dynamic SE. In terms of reaching 60 mph from a standstill, the time difference is about 0.3 seconds (5.7 versus 5.4 seconds). The Autobiography has a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrain delivering 543 horsepower and a seriously impressive 0-60 mph time of 4.7 seconds.
We have limited information about the 626-horsepower twin-turbo V8 MHEV in SV models. We do know that Range Rover is claiming a blistering 0-60 mph time of 3.6 seconds.
Following the average for its segment the Range Rover Sport’s basic warranty is for four years or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first. It’s the same for powertrain coverage.
Neither the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) nor the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) have safety tested the Range Rover Sport.
The 2024 Land Rover Range Rover Sport is in the bottom 76-100% for Cost to Own among all Luxury Mid-size SUV/Crossovers.

3D surround view camera
This standard feature gives a bird’s-eye view of the Range Rover Sport and is invaluable when navigating tight parking spots. Front and rear parking sensors are also included on all trims.
Blind-spot monitoring
Another popular active safety feature, blind-spot monitoring comes standard and warns the driver if another vehicle is alongside but unseen. Even in a high-riding SUV with a commanding view of the road, this can be extremely useful, particularly when changing lanes at highway speed.
ClearSight ground view
Standard on the new Range Rover Sport, this camera-based system allows the driver to virtually see through the hood of the vehicle and spot any obstacles. Geared toward off-road driving, the display shows an unobstructed view of what’s directly under the front of the Range Rover and allows for added delicacy and safety when traversing rugged terrain.
