Compact luxury SUVs are a dime a dozen, but the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque stands out as something unique. It has styling not quite like anything else on the road, plus it has the outstanding off-road capabilities associated with the storied Range Rover name. Not only that, but it’s a comfortable and luxurious daily driver as well.
The 2023 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque is a small SUV with a lot of personality, but most competing subcompact luxury SUVs are more practical. The high starting price, cramped back seats, and relatively poor fuel economy make the Evoque a tough sell if you’re looking for a good value in a small luxury SUV. Rivals like the BMW X1, Audi Q3, and Volvo XC40 are more practical and affordable, but they don’t have the character or capabilities of the Range Rover Evoque.
The 2023 Range Rover Evoque is essentially a carryover model with a few minor changes. For example, adaptive cruise control is now standard on all trims, which we expect for this price point. A couple of option packages have been dropped, but the SE trims now have an updated deployable touchscreen and Meridian premium audio.
2023 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque pricing starts at $33,652 for the Range Rover Evoque P250 S Sport Utility 4D, which had a starting MSRP of $47,575 when new. The range-topping 2023 Range Rover Evoque P300 R-Dynamic HST Sport Utility 4D starts at $41,481 today, originally priced from $58,175.

The Kelley Blue Book Fair Purchase Price for any individual used vehicle can vary greatly according to mileage, condition, location, and other factors. The prices here reflect what buyers are currently paying for used 2023 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque models in typical condition when purchasing from a dealership. These prices are updated weekly.
We’ll get to the Range Rover Evoque’s off-road chops in a minute, but we know that most drivers will spend most of their time on the pavement, even Land Rover drivers. The Range Rover Evoque is a comfortable luxury SUV that’s competent in tight corners but not as sporty as some of its rivals like the BMW X1. The Evoque delivers a smooth, quiet, and comfortable ride around town and on the highway.
Any SUV with all-wheel drive will do just fine on a snowy road, but the Range Rover Evoque is capable of much more. When the pavement ends, the Evoque holds up every bit of the reputation of the iconic Range Rover name.
The Range Rover Evoque is simply the best off-roader in the subcompact luxury SUV class. On top of standard AWD, off-road features that give it this distinction include All Terrain Progress Control (off-road cruise control) and the Terrain Response 2 system with four drive modes.
In classic Land Rover fashion, the Range Rover Evoque is comfortable on-road and capable off-road with little compromise.
The inside of the Range Rover Evoque is luxurious by anyone’s standards. The design is upscale, and the materials are top-notch. Leather upholstery is standard, and there are a couple of option packages upgrading the interior like the Premium Upgrade Interior Pack, Premium Upgrade Textile Pack, and Eucalyptus Textile Pack. Different leather colors, interior trim materials, and headliner options make the interior customizable.
The front seats are roomy and comfortable for just about anyone, but the back seats are pretty cramped. Granted, it’s a small SUV, but even for its size, these back seats are strictly for shorter passengers. There’s also not a ton of cargo space. The roomy BMW X1 is the one to get if you’re looking for a luxury SUV in this class with a lot of interior space.
Distinct styling is one of the top selling points of the Range Rover Evoque. It speaks the Land Rover brand’s design language while having a look that’s unique to the Evoque. The sharp lines in the body make it look good from every angle, and there are many paint and wheel options to make it your own.
The appearance of the Range Rover Evoque changes a bit depending on the trim. The R-Design models have a sporty appearance package, and there’s a Black Exterior Styling Pack available that adds handsome gloss black exterior trim.
The Range Rover Evoque is the smallest SUV in the Land Rover lineup. Its dimensions are similar to other subcompact luxury SUVs like the BMW X1, Audi Q3, and Volvo XC40.
TERRAIN RESPONSE 2
This standard system contributes to the excellent off-road capabilities of the Range Rover Evoque. It can automatically switch between drive modes based on the terrain.
PIVI PRO
The high-tech Pivi Pro infotainment system uses a rich, vibrant screen loaded with features like Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, HD Radio, and a self-learning navigation system.
The Range Rover Evoque has a generous list of standard features that helps to justify its high base price. The standard powertrain is a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 with a 9-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.
Standard features in the base S model include Terrain Response 2 with off-road drive modes, All Terrain Progress Control, LED headlights and taillights, a power liftgate, DuoLeather seats, heated front seats, 40/20/40 split folding back seats, wireless charging, and two USB ports.
The standard infotainment system is the Pivi Pro system with a 10-inch screen loaded with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, SiriusXM, HD Radio, and navigation. Standard driver assistance features include lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, front and rear parking sensors, traffic sign recognition with adaptive speed limiter, and automatic emergency braking.
Upgrading to the SE trim adds some extra luxury features to the Evoque, along with a bit of a price hike. Standard features on the SE model include premium LED auto-leveling headlights, automatic high beams, signature LED taillights, 20-inch wheels, a memory driver’s seat, a deployable touchscreen, Meridian premium audio, blind-spot monitoring, and a rear traffic monitor.
The S and SE trims both have R-Dynamic variants available. R-Dynamic is an appearance package that includes unique wheels, a sport front bumper, a Dark Atlas front grille, copper exterior accents, aluminum interior trim, metal treadplates, and an ebony Morzine headliner.
Finally, the top P300 HST model is the most luxurious variant of the Evoque and delivers the most robust performance. It has a mild hybrid engine with more power and torque than the lower trims and about the same fuel economy. Additional features include black exterior accents, a black contrast roof, a panoramic moonroof, a heated, suedecloth steering wheel, an ebony suedecloth headliner, a digital gauge cluster, and a Touch Pro Duo infotainment system with two screens.
As we often see with Land Rover models, many option packages and individual options are available for the Range Rover Evoque. A Dynamic Handling Pack provides sportier on-road handling. A Convenience Pack adds niceties like a hands-free power liftgate and an Activity Key. A Technology Pack adds a dual-screen infotainment system, a digital gauge cluster, head-up display, and camera mirror.
Under the hood of the Range Rover Evoque lies a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 engine in two different variants. Most Evoque models use the P250 powertrain, which delivers satisfying performance, but the mild hybrid P300 setup in the HST trim upgrades power and torque with similar fuel economy. Even with the mild-hybrid system, the fuel economy ratings are pretty unimpressive compared to the rest of this class.
Every Range Rover Evoque has a quick-shifting 9-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive.
