Positive Review
I have owned the 2010 LR4 since Jan 2010, and have just clocked 30000 miles. I think I finally have enough experience to offer some insight into the value this vehicle offers. Firstly, let me just say, I love it. Even after 2 years of ownership, I still get excited for a trip to the store or to take the dog to the beach, when I know I will be driving the LR. Addressing some of the the most commonly discussed points re. the LR4 Cost - this vehicle is not cheap, but is not much more than a 4Runner LTD, about the same as a Volvo XC90, is less than an X5 or ML/GL350. However, you get a whole lot more for your money. Value - as mentioned above, you get more for your money in the LR than its comparably sized competitors. A level of luxury that meets or beats Lexus/BMW/Mercedes, and off-road abilities that are better than any of these competitors except maybe the 4Runner. I would back the LR over the Toyota, if for nothing else, the powerplant. The 5.0L V-8 is a beast. Reliability - Land Rover has a bad reputation for reliability. This is probably deserved on some of the older models. I can only speak to my experience. I have had a couple of minor electrical issues (a bad fuel sensing unit, and a stereo power issue) that were both resolved pretty quickly under warranty. Otherwise, its rock steady. Maintenance - Oil changes cost more than a moon shot ($130ish!). BUT, you only have to do them every 15000 miles (yes, 15000 is not a typo). Tires and brakes will last between 30 and 40000 miles, if you don't drive super aggressively. Fuel Economy - worried about fuel prices? Don't bother looking at an LR until they bring a diesel to the US. This thing is thirsty. Corp Support - I haven't had any run ins with LR Nth America, though I have heard some horror stories. Not too impressed with their recent effort to charge $250 to update the maps in the Nav system. Overall Impression - this is an amazing vehicle, massively confidence inspiring. Whether bombing down the interstate at 85, or climbing an ice covered drive, or a slick snowy mountain road, the LR seems completely sure footed. It is ridiculously comfortable, and very roomy. The features offered are impressive, and make me wonder how LR sells any Range Rovers when they offer the LR4 with so many bells and whistles. Its hard to imagine going back to reliable(ly) boring old Toyota after this....
Critical Review
This is my second brand new LR4 in the last 3 months. The first had multiple mechanical issues and I was given a replacement. Now my most recent LR4 Lux was also in the shop after less than ONE WEEK! I have now seen suspension issues, transmission issues, fuel pump issues and engine issues all within two brand new 2015 trucks and in a period of three months. I love the design, the features and the ride but I could really just use a car that works.

Style, strength, adaptability
Price and availability of parts
This SUV has a great style and a shape that lends to large interior space without being too long. It can be top heavy on quick tight turns but I have a full roof rack and tire on top. Great car for camping, able to fit a full size mattress and has head space to sit up in the bed. Near panoramic views due to huge windows and multiple sunrooves. The down side is expensive and rare parts. Over the 11 year life of the car the suspension has been replaced as well as a few pricey pumps. Nothing out of the ordinary for an 11 year old car with 150k. These parts are expensive and some repair shops don't bother with a license for land rover because they can be difficult to work on. If you want to buy this car used, ensure that it has been impeccably maintained with receipts showing suspension and brake care. This car will take you ANYWHERE if it's taken care of.
Styling, comfort, practicality, seating
Engine, service.
Timing chain went unexpectedly. Took the engine with it. First told it was a $6000 repair, then it leapt to $20000 to replace entire engine. Dealer nor Land Rover would do anything to help. It is entirely unacceptable to have an otherwise well maintained vehicle have this kind of problem. Very very disgusted. DO NOT BUY THIS BRAND.
Solid comfortable car to drive.
Some minor blind spots
Interior styling is excellent, roomy, great for long distance driving. Easy to handle, driver view is great. Comfortable seating for 7. Wish folding seats where push button automatic. Plenty of room for groceries with jump seats up, but don't over pack. Not much room for large suitcases with third row seats up. Love my LR4
Comfort and styling
Everything else
This is the fourth Land Rover that I owned and it is complete junk. 54k miles on it and it needs a new engine. Nothing but issues from day one. Always did oil changes at 5k intervals and kept it in immaculate condition. I had 2 other lemons (2010 LR4 and 2016 Range Rover) and 1 decent LR3. Stay far away from these vehicles there is a reason why they are always rated worst for reliability. Land Rover North America does not stand behind their product.
2016 first breakdown! Great ride and handeling.
Parts availability!
Overall I have had an amazing owenership! Today I have a LR4 that I can not find a replacement part for and the dealership doesn’t have any idea when the part will be available! Sitting in my driveway…

Gas mileage
I had an LR3 for years and then got this LR4 as a lease trade in. I have owned it for over 8 years. It is the most enjoyable car ever, I love the huge tall windows (great visibility), the seats feels like sitting in a comfortable office chair with arm rests and very upright which I love. At going on 11 years old it looks like new inside and out and shows very little upholstery wear. The tall boxy design lends more space for such thing as a dog crate in back without being overly long. It has been extremely reliable as well, just general maintenance which any vehicle would have. The only cons are the gas mileage 14.5 / 18 and the cornering feels a bit top heavy, but it has plenty of V8 power. Off road it can't be beat. It's a keeper, beautiful design very well made.
Comfort
Engine can feel underpowered, horrible MPG
I love the car but it isn’t perfect. V6 is a bit underpowered. MPG is really bad (16 MPG combined). I love the unique styling. And comfort is the best. Yes I would tell a friend to buy it.
amazing cabin comfort
horrible quality, constantly breaks down, expensi
Very Unreliable car - it was in the shop more than any car I have ever owned, I only owned it for 2 years.
