Positive Review

"2016 LR Discovery Sport"

This is my 10th car, it's drive smooth have good off road compatibility, most stylish and desirable SUVs on the road, but this falls dramatically short it has a lot of noises in the cabin from plastics and other stuff that does not make a pleasant ride, and I it has terrible quality if you bought one which was built on the end of month! I been in dealer 10 times within 3 month. I never had so many noises problem with all my previous 9 cars. I can't recommend this model the price is luxury but built so low quality?

Critical Review

"Low Quality Craftsmanship"

Been to the dealer to many times to count. After four months the vehicle check engine light came on; injectors had to be replace and black plastic on top of license plate had to be replace because of squeaky noise. About eight months, engine overheat when setting in traffic, cooling fan had to be replace. Also water got in the driver rear marker light and had to be replace. Ten months or so, check engine light comes on: it comes and go randomly (software had to be updated and problem solve). On the 11th month, rear passenger seats and plastic on A pillar made squeaky noise (parts are being ordered and will be replace in a few weeks). The driver seat is not very comfortable, had to get aftermarket seat cushion. I own this vehicle for about a year now and drove this vehicle in all types of road and weather conditions and there's a great amount of road noise in cabin, huge turbo lag and poor acceleration. A few good things: great exterior design, heated/cooling seat works great, and huge panoramic sunroof.

Do not buy a LR Period

This is without a doubt the worst vehicle I have ever owned. Numerous electrical and mechanical issues. From air conditioning problems to jumpy acceleration. Looks good but everything else is so bad. I highly recommend avoiding all LR vehicles.

Not worth it
Pros

great high beams

Cons

too many to mention

I love the high beams on this car. That's about it. I have never owned a car before that I hated. This car seems to frustrate me every time I get in it. From the touch screen that is hard to use, to the extreme difficulty simply shifting into drive (it usually takes 3 or 4 tries), the "hold" feature that will not turn off, the bluetooth that is spotty at best in connecting to your phone, the poor acceleration, very average handling, nothing about this car tells me my money was well spent. Trading on after 2 years of frustration and going back to the Audit Q5 - head and shoulders a better vehicle.

Superb Review
Pros

Runs good

Cons

Scratches and price

This review helped me save 3k. The seller wanted 18700 which is far above its true value. I’m satisfied.

Never again

I've had 4 Mercedes Benz and decided to try something different...I bought a used Land Rover Discovery Sport HSE from a local dealership...there was no back wiper blade, no window washing fluid and tires with different tread so it made noise when I drove it...THEY ended up paying $1200 for a new set of tires...after those minor things, it was okay for a year and then on New Year's Eve.... 💥 Check engine light is on. I took it in on 1/2/24 had them change the oil and run a diagnostic test on it and some codes were cleared but one remained so they said they needed to order another solenoid which took 3 weeks to get here. Enter new solenoid....still have light on. The mechanics that worked on the car said it was an internal engine issue to where the engine would have to be taken out and I'd need to take it to Portland to the dealership. I saw mass hemorrhaging of money so this Saturday, I traded it in and I'll have a 2023 Camaro. The sales manager said since it has expensive problems, they were just gonna send it to the auto auction. I will NEVER own another Land Rover or s Jaguar for that matter.

It’s A Land Rover
Pros

Fun to drive. AWD capability STANDARD

Cons

Not much aftermarket parts out there

Our LR Disco Sport HSE has always been a performer. From the first time off the JLR dealership till today. Many will say that the LR is such an unreliable brand, it breaks down a lot, it’s not worth it.. well, these, so called, “HATERS” are also current Land Rover owners! Why? Because no matter the problems it has caused in the past, we are still loyal to the brand! Going back to my review.. The Disco Sport is a very capable compact SUV as it’s big brother, the Discovery 5. It’s AWD platform is impeccable. Going on sand dunes in Pismo Beach, tackling snow and ice in Big Bear or just cruising down PCH in Malibu.. the Disco Sport can get you in and out with no sweat. It’s LR pedigree on and off road will surely impress you. It’s turbocharged engine will knock your socks off! Very responsive. Styling is also an A+.. driving down Beverly Hills also not a bad idea to flaunt your Disco Sport. Of course, it’s a Land Rover.
