Positive Review

"highly recomended"

hi I have 4 children and was looking for something different other than a caravan( which I have owned) I was looking at the ford escape hybrids but they don't offer them with a 3rd seat. so wanting to have better gas millage and still have room for all the kids and my wife and me, I looked at the rondo. I test drove one and it really impurest me. I also liked the warranty 10years 100'000 power train warranty.( to the first owner only I don't like that) but we plan on keeping it. I can't begin to tell you how much my wife and I like the rondo we have had it for about 6 months now. I plan on putting in a navigation system in the dash. the turning radius is unbelievable you can turn on a dime. and It does not feel top heavy like the mini vans or the suv's

Critical Review

"pretty good, but..."

We bought this brand-new from a Kia dealer with high expectations based on reviews that I had read. I currently own a Hyundai Sonata with 160,000 miles on it so I know that a good car CAN be made from this company. Don't get me wrong. It's not a total piece of junk. In fact, all of the basic features that led me to this purchase were exactly as promised. But here are the issues that I have with it after 9 months of ownership: 1. MPG is nowhere near the 21/29. We are lucky to get 22 overall, and our trip last summer gave us 24. Our Mazda MPV 6-cylinder got better. 2. I chose the sunroof option. Big mistake. It limits the use of the roof rack because the crossbars are not able to move completely forward to hold our softshell luggage carrier. Also, there are no openings on the side rails to tie down any cords to secure any loads on top. (Did you guess Christmas tree disaster?) 3. Horrible rattling when the sunroof is open and I am driving. Good thing the air conditioning works so well. 4. Even worse rattling when any of the windows are open and I am driving. My lab and my golden retriever are used to sticking their noses out the window when I am on a country road. No chance anymore. Sorry, guys. 5. The advanced sound system really is a pile of garbage. If you are any type of audiophile, wait and install an after-market system so you get what you pay for, not some garbage with a big name. 6. Leg room for driver. I am only 5'11", but I cannot move the seat back far enough to get leg support under my thighs, so long trips are painful after a while. My recommendation is to test drive one with a very critical eye and not to have the dealer say "you'll get used to it after you have the car for a few weeks."

Great Car, MPG So So
Pros

Durable reliable, flexible . Nice upright seating

Cons

MPG not great. 3rd row seating, small.

We bought this car new in 2009. We don't drive that much so it only has 106,000 miles on it. I really like the upright seating position that is kind of like a mini SUV. It has been a reliable and flexible car with the only major problem being an air conditioning fix. Other than that it is been oil changes, tires, and the routine items. The car is durable and with the seats laid down it can haul a good amount of material. I do a lot of gardening for a local Garden club and I haul a lot of dirt shovels and I can even put my wheelbarrow in it! I sometimes car camp. sleeping in the car with the Sun / Moon roof open I can see the stars. It has leather seats that are heated which we really like in the winter. The only cons I have with it is it's not as good as I had hoped for a car this size. When I'm doing a lot of stop and go around town it only gets about 17 or 18. On the highway ,it generally will get about 23 and if conditions are just right I have achieved 27 to 30. But overall if I'm combining highway and town driving I'd say it's around 20 to 21 MPG. Not a flashy car ... just a durable little tank that gets the job done

Reliable and safe car
Pros

Safe, dependable car

Cons

Looks like a minivan

I bought my $800 Rondo nearly three years ago. It was supposed to be an extra but I quickly fell in love. It has been impressively reliable for a 15 year old car. I unfortunately totaled it out not too long ago and managed to walk away with minor bruising. I will definitely be buying another Rondo soon.

Cons

Radio is not great. Outside noise is not muffled m

Works really well in the snow with no 4 wheel drive. Rondo has lots of room for projects, traveling, or picking up big items or purchases. Has 7 seats total.

Go for the V6
Pros

So many features and options. Room for hauling

Cons

Parts more expensive in my location. Order on line

I had never even heard of a Rondo. I was shopping for a Sportage or Sorento I happened to see a Rondo on a lot and liked it but the lot was closed. I finally found another on and knew as soon as I drove it, I was taking it home. The car looks small on the outside but inside it is identical to the Sorento. All the negative reviews I read about were on the 4 Cyl. models I haven't seen anything neg on the LX v6. With the 2.7 It's got the power to jump on the freeway or quickly move when you need to. I love all the hidden compartments under the cargo area. I am a person that likes to be prepared. I keep a full tool set, flares , jumper cables, Sleeping bag, Towel and spare shoes, first aid kit extra oil & cleaning supplies plus the jack and tire tools, all completely out of view In two separate compartments under the floor. The spare tire is under the car. There is an emergency fuel tank access release inside the back as well as a hatch release in case your remote fails. The Rondo turns on a dime, parks easily and fits in the economy parking spaces. It has front and rear passenger AC & heating vents and pull-out cup holders for rear passengers as well as plenty of leg room. Rear passengers can ride just as comfortable as front passengers. All seats recline. I added rain shields above the windows and dark tinting which really gave the car a sharp look. The standard aluminum wheels look ok but I might get fancier ones later .

Perfect size for me.
Pros

Very comfortable drivers cockpit.

Cons

Non after new alternator installed.

I have only had this car for nine days, but find it the right choice for me. Not too small. Not too big. Comfortable seats. Good size cargo space. Good shape and size of windows which make pulling up to something or backing out easier (And safer) than my old mini van.

Reliable comfortable car good miles
Pros

easy ride, lots of trunk room, very low miles,

The car has great to ride in, smooth and reliable. owned by 1 person who didn't go on long tips so the miles are very low. The cigar lighter still works and also has the non smoking, charger ports and an auz cord and or CD player. Brand new battery installed as well as tires, The color of the car is light silver with darker-seat interior.
