Positive Review
I owned a 2010 Lexus RX350 for which I was paying too much to the bank and the gas station for all the premium gas it uses. I decided to downgrade to use that money on something more useful than a luxury ride. In doing my research about my next purchase I read good things about the 2011 Optima and decided to give it a try at the dealer. Outside, it has that very sporty and stylish combination of a Lexus IS250 or an Audi 4. Inside, I did not miss one single thing that my RX 350 had: Bluetooth, dual air, foot parking brake, leather seats, satellite radio, dimming mirror, steering wheels controls and high end materials for all the dashboard and cabin materials. That you can only expect only from a luxury vehicle, but a Kia? Once on the highway, this car feels very responsive and the feedback from the steering wheel is amazing. Accelerating feels like if the car had a turbo engine. When it comes to buy a car I usually tend to be as a girl in a dress store: will try them all and come out empty handed. But with this one and at that price…. I traded in the Lexus and got some money back for it. It has been a week I am still impressed with this car, especially when at the gas station my once a week stop got to be $26 instead of the usual $50 with the Lexus.
Critical Review
I thought this was a great deal for what I paid for a Optima EX, really nice looking, but that was before the slight vibartion started and when your driver side seat clicks when you make a right or left turn, not good, the windows are not air tight, you hear wind noise, when I brought this up to the attention of the dealer, they tell me that is the way the car is made, not happy with that answer, I went to KIAUSA and guess what they say, opps we know about the window and seat, we are working on that but cant help you if dealer says that is the way it is, good warranty or not, not worth the money, you waste more time dealing with the issues and not enjoying the car, and be prepared to take a big loss, you loose 5K the minute you leave the dealership, NEVER AGAIN KIA

Nice amenities on Base model
None
Bought about 18 months ago for 10.5k w/98k miles Base model great condition (very minor dings, paint in good shape, interior nice, tires have 30k +left ) has so many options! In price range of 10k, most used cars had more miles, ugly styling smaller/cramped /uncomfortable, cost more compared to the Kia Optima 2013 I found. Recalls already taken care of. Handles well, very comfortable and roomy inside, rated top for safety, lots of room in the trunk, drives great, just absolutely love this car!!! Feels like a steal compared to what else is out there in this price range. Lots of compliments on this one.
Nicer than most for price
Doesn’t have resale of Toyota
Happy with purchase of my used Kia Optima LX. Nice styling, paint is in good shape, good gas mileage, Bluetooth, spacious truck, very comfortable seats, back seat passengers will be comfortable. Faster than expected when need to accelerate. Nice handling on curves. Design of car does not look dated and boxy as did other cars in similar price range. Better value than many other used cars. Lots of great reviews. Has some recalls, but those were fixed so no problem. Rated really well for safety! That’s important with so many big trucks suvs etc on the roads.
Chrome Trm. Stock 20s.
Oil consumption
Bought my optima about a year ago with The turbocharged motor 2.4 & I absolutely love it. Speed with a dash of luxury
Price
Bad quality overall. Bought it as used but it had battery problems. Only the good thing was the price.
Great gas mileage and always reliable
Not a “cool” car
I’ve had my 2013 Kia Optima for 8 years, I’ve put over 100,000 miles on it and I’ve never had any issues with it. I’ve always done regular oil changes and never drove it like a race car. It has nothing exciting but she’s always been reliable.
Bought in 2014 from a Kia dealership. I loved my car, named it Optimus Prime and everything...Come on, a red/burgundy Optima....The only issue with this car is that the motor sucks. There's been recalls on it but they aren't able to fix it so if you don't fix it you need a brand new motor that sets you back 10k. This car is great for parts, or if you able to fix vehicles or just have a matching motor laying around. AC works great still, battery and electrical is great. I'm gonna miss this car for reals!
none!
Mechanical and electrical
Shoppers beware, Kia and Hyundai does Not take care of the customers!! Recall on the car for over 6 months and the car cannot be driven or I will be at fault for full damage. No loaner car offered and needing to rent a car or by due to the lack of fix, as they have No resolve for the recall. AVOID this manufacture!!!
I had the car since 2015 and I have had nothing but troubles. I have completed routine maintenance last year the engine decided to stall wasting 3 months of my time waiting for the piece of junk to be able to be replaced for a hefty price tag more than the car would ever be worth. Completed that now the belt and alternator as well as other parts have went down the crapper. I would never recommend this car it’s a money hog and it would be better to ride a bike than the piece of junk Kia Is passing as a car
