Positive Review
First I'd like to say I have always owned hondas or toyotas BUT because of the warranty a 2005 Kia Sorento was my first...I loved everything about it EXCEPT for the gas mileage. This year I traded for an Optima...was kind of worried because I would no longer have the SUV to haul things if needed but I LOVE IT! I bought the 4-cyl. for the gas mileage (getting 35-36!) and it's got plenty of power unless your on hilly terrain. I've had the need to haul things and was greatly surprised how much I packed into the car...amazed actually! I think the new Optima has a great sporty look too...didn't like the looks of the 2007 accord or camry...LOVE MINE SO FAR!!!
Critical Review
We purchased the car used, with low mileage in late 2010. We were originally impressed with the value of the vehicle and thought we got a lot of car for our money. Our original impression was nice ride, decent handling, reasonably quiet on the highway, good mileage, and good power for a four cylinder. The car had a few minor issues, which were repaired at the dealer. This year, 2013, our feelings towards the car changed for the worse. The transmission failed shortly after the warranty expired and KIA would not work with us at all on a repair which cost us $2700 for a rebuilt unit installed. A month after this, the air bag light came on and after a trip to the dealer for a diagnosis(five minutes and $100 later), they told us we needed to replace the front passenger seat at the amazing low price of $1500. We will be trading the car in with the problem as it is not worth fixing the problem at this point. It is hard to like a car that costs almost half its value in repairs in a few short months. We are now looking to dump the car and buy American which we should have done in the first place. This was our first and last car that was not built here. We understand cars break, but major mechanical and electrical failures at such low mileage (65000) are inexcusable, especially since the manufacturer refuses to work with you which tells us that they do not feel they are selling a quality product.

I love my Kia Optima 2008. It has been a great car. Very spacious and comfortable inside. I have this car since 2010 and still great. Another great thing about this car is when you need to accelerate this car will respond. My is a 2.4 litters and is very sweet to drive. I would love to find another but stick shift instead.
This car is great, as a first car or replacement for an older car you may have. I had a Chrysler 300 and it was a 2005. It went kaput. I bought this beautiful 2008 Kia Optima and I'm satisfied with this purchase. It is touchy with the gas and accelerator pedals, but other than that, I love it and would recommend it as a first car for young people.
reliable
sits lower than SUV's
great gas milage reliable no major problems I just want a vehicle with more safety built in, sits higher and newer
Great mpg and zippy family sedan.
Junky bumper plastics :-/
I’ve owned several Hondas and one early Kia (junk), but I have to say this car is fantastic! The 2.4 has plenty of zip, great mpg, plenty of space (including trunk) and handles really well. A/C is wicked cold! Only negative is junky bumper plastic. Great crash test ratings! I’ll miss it… Parting is such sweet sorrow!
Practicle. cd player and casette

Good transportation. Dependable. Has some dings and scratches but under the hood is what counts. One owner. No kids or animals. Low miles 56000. Have had all service done on schedule

I've owned my vehicle for about six years. I've driven it across the US and it's still in prime condition. I highly recommend this make and model.
