The Jeep Wagoneer is a full-size SUV with a huge 3-row interior, impressive towing muscle, and the off-road chops we expect from a Jeep. Pricing starts at $62,040.
The Jeep Wagoneer brings authentic Jeep character to a full-size SUV with a spacious 3-row interior, class-leading towing capacity, and the off-road capabilities you expect from the brand. Go ahead and bring along the whole crew for the adventure; the Wagoneer has an adult-friendly third row of seats and more cargo room behind the third row than any of its rivals. But the Wagoneer is so much more than a utilitarian family hauler. The upper trims get pretty luxurious with niceties like Nappa leather seats and one of the finest premium audio systems we’ve ever tested. Whether it’s your first Jeep or you’re a longtime devotee of the brand, you’ll find something to love in the Jeep Wagoneer.
We’ve spent hundreds of hours driving and evaluating this generation of full-size SUVs, including the 2025 Jeep Wagoneer.
For 2025, the Jeep Wagoneer gets a price cut and more standard features. Talk about a win-win. The standard wheels have grown from 18 inches to 20, lane-keeping assist and adaptive cruise control are now standard, and power-folding mirrors are optional. Previously, power-folding mirrors were exclusive to the fancier Jeep Grand Wagoneer.
The 2025 Jeep Wagoneer has a starting sticker price of $62,040, with the range-topping Wagoneer Series III Super kicking off at $82,535.

The most popular Jeep Wagoneer trim is the Series II.
With this year’s price cut, the Jeep Wagoneer’s pricing is now on the low end of its segment, alongside the Chevy Tahoe and Nissan Armada. The redesigned Ford Expedition is a bit pricier, as are the GMC Yukon and Toyota Sequoia.
Before buying a Jeep Wagoneer, check the Kelley Blue Book Fair Purchase Price to know what you should really pay. Jeep Wagoneer resale value is below average for the segment. Recouping more money when selling a vehicle can mean a bigger down payment and lower monthly payments on the next one.
The 2025 Jeep Wagoneer is powered by a 420-horsepower turbocharged 6-cylinder engine matched with an 8-speed automatic transmission and rear- or 4-wheel drive. This engine proves that a full-size SUV doesn’t require a V8. Our testing found that it has more than enough grunt for hauling a full load of passengers around town and on the highway. It can also tow up to 10,000 pounds, meaning it can handle a wide range of travel trailers, campers, boats, and other toys without breaking a sweat. This powertrain is ideal for a big SUV.
Braking and handling are predictably ponderous, given the sheer mass of the Wagoneer. However, the available Quadra-Lift air suspension system (which is standard in the more expensive Grand Wagoneer) goes a long way in smoothing out the ride. This SUV was born for eating up miles on the highway, and it’s comfortable when serving that duty regardless of the suspension.
We’d be remiss if we got through a Jeep review without mentioning its off-road chops. Three different 4-wheel-drive (4WD) systems are available in the Jeep Wagoneer, but we’ll keep it simple. The Quadra-Trac I system is suitable for snowy roads and mild off-roading, and the Quadra-Trac II improves off-road capability with a 2-speed transfer case. Finally, Quadra-Drive II is Jeep’s most advanced 4-wheel-drive system with active low range and a rear electronic limited-slip differential. Quadra-Drive II, mated with the aforementioned Quadra-Lift air suspension system — which provides up to 10 inches of ground clearance — makes this big SUV a serious off-roader without sacrificing on-road comfort.
The Jeep Wagoneer gets 17 city/24 highway/20 combined mpg with rear-wheel drive (RWD). Subtract one from each of those numbers for the 4-wheel-drive models. Those are pretty good ratings for a full-size SUV, and the fact that it runs on regular-grade gas helps keep fuel costs reasonable.
For comparison, the Ford Expedition gets up to 19 combined mpg, and the V8s in the Chevy Tahoe and GMC Yukon get 17 mpg (the bigger V8 needs premium gas). For a more efficient full-size SUV, consider the turbodiesel-powered Tahoe or Yukon, which gets up to 23 combined mpg, or the hybrid Toyota Sequoia, rated at 22 mpg.
When you get a big SUV, you expect a big interior, and that’s what the Jeep Wagoneer delivers. Unsurprisingly, there’s plenty of room to stretch out in the first two rows. However, the way-back seats are sometimes disappointingly tight in this class. That’s not the case here; the Wagoneer has an adult-friendly third row with 36.6 inches of legroom, slightly more than the Chevy Tahoe and Ford Expedition. The Jeep Wagoneer also beats its American rivals in cargo space behind the third row, which measures a generous 27.4 cubic feet. If you can afford to fold down some seats, there are 70.8 cubic feet of room behind the second row and 116.7 cubic feet of space behind the first.
Up front, Jeep has managed to keep all the controls and switchgear remarkably tidy. Although there are three screens available (even the front passenger can have one), the overall feel is more warmly human than coolly technical. The rest of the cabin is quite luxurious. Leather seating surfaces are standard at the entry-level and upgraded in higher trims.
Jeep has done a nice job of taking an aesthetic that is uniquely Jeep and making it look refined without losing its rugged edge. Standard 20-inch wheels are a nice new touch this year. We’re partial to the blacked-out aesthetic of the Carbide trim, and the luxurious Series III trim looks lovely with its 22-inch wheels and tasteful use of chrome. All the while that seven-slat grille up front makes it unmistakably a Jeep.
10,000-pound towing capacity
The Jeep Wagoneer achieves the best towing capacity in its class, and it does it with only six inline cylinders. It’s so relaxed when towing that you might forget that the camper is behind you when on the highway.
4WD systems
In typical Jeep fashion, the Wagoneer has multiple 4-wheel-drive systems available. Whether you just want extra traction on slippery roads or are planning some serious off-road adventures, a Jeep Wagoneer can serve your needs.
McIntosh audio
The available McIntosh 19-speaker premium audio system isn’t just the best audio system in this class; it’s one of the best sound systems we’ve ever tested in any car, period. Much more than just cool-looking speaker grilles, this audio system brings your music to life in a way that you must hear to believe.
Carbide trim
The stylish Carbide trim has 20-inch gloss black wheels, black accents inside and out, and black Nappa leather-trimmed seats with smoke accent stitching. It gives the rugged Wagoneer a dark and imposing look.
Quadra-Lift suspension
This available air suspension system gives the Wagoneer the serene ride of a luxury SUV while improving off-road capabilities with up to 10 inches of ground clearance. It’s a worthwhile upgrade if your budget allows it.
Uconnect infotainment system
Uconnect infotainment systems have long been a strong suit of Jeep SUVs, and the Wagoneer is no exception. This user-friendly and feature-rich system has a 10.1-inch display, a 10.3-inch digital gauge cluster, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Amazon Alexa, and a Wi-Fi hot spot. A front passenger screen and rear entertainment system are optional.
A turbocharged 3.0-liter 6-cylinder engine mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission powers every 2025 Jeep Wagoneer. Some rivals offer more variety under the hood (the Tahoe and Yukon have two V8s and a diesel), but this powertrain is so good that we’re not complaining about the lack of choice. It pumps out 420 hp and 486 lb-ft of torque while returning a respectable fuel economy rating of up to 20 combined mpg with regular-grade gas. That’s a nice balance of performance and efficiency for a full-size SUV. Did we mention it has class-leading towing of up to 10,000 pounds?
More Wagoneer fuel economy information is available on the EPA’s website.
Jeep’s new vehicle warranty lasts three years or 36,000 miles, whichever happens first. Jeep covers the powertrain for five years or 60,000 miles. These terms are typical for the category. Jeep also includes three years of complimentary scheduled maintenance, which isn’t so usual.
The Wagoneer gets a 4-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). In testing by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), it got the top “Good” rating in every crashworthiness category except for “Moderate overlap front,” in which it earned a “Marginal” rating.
