If you’re looking for a small, fuel-efficient SUV that has real off-road ability, a whimsical design and loads of cool features, the 2019 Jeep Renegade deserves a good look. The upright greenhouse provides good headroom and outward visibility, while the Renegade’s overall image is pure Jeep.
When it comes to driving, you’ll have more fun in a Mazda CX-3 or Nissan Kicks. The Honda HR-V offers better resale and reliability, as do many of the Renegade’s competitors. The slightly larger Subaru Crosstrek can go anywhere the Renegade can, offers better fuel economy and comes standard with all-wheel drive.
