The 2025 Jeep Grand Wagoneer L is a large, luxurious SUV with abundant off-road ability and surprisingly good fuel economy. Pricing starts at $104,040.
With its sights set on attaining the pinnacle of elite full-size SUVs, the 2025 Jeep Grand Wagoneer L offers all the positive attributes of the Jeep Grand Wagoneer (reviewed separately) and substantially increases its cargo space. The result is an opulent colossus that pampers with its highly contented comfy cabin and amazes with its go-anywhere off-road capability. There’s no doubt: Jeep takes the “Grand” in its nameplate very seriously.
We’ve spent hundreds of hours driving and evaluating this generation of luxury full-size SUVs, including the Jeep Grand Wagoneer.
Because Jeep first launched the Jeep Grand Wagoneer L in 2023, it apparently concluded tweaks at this juncture unnecessary. However, on a broader front, the Grand Wagoneer is scheduled to get a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version for 2025.
The 2025 Jeep Grand Wagoneer L has a starting sticker price of $104,040, with the range-topping Grand Wagoneer L Series III Obsidian kicking off at $114,635. But Kelley Blue Book Fair Purchase Pricing currently suggests paying $7,348 to $8,587 less than MSRP, depending on trim and equipment. These prices are updated weekly.
MSRP | KBB Fair Purchase Price (national avg.) | |||
---|---|---|---|---|
$104,040 | $95,664 | |||
$113,040 | $105,692 | |||
$114,635 | $106,048 |
If you are ready to spend what the Grand Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer L fetch, your only decision is whether you want the extra cargo and passenger space the Grand Wagoneer L offers. Both configurations provide similar content. As you move up the trim levels, not only do things become even more extravagant, but Jeep tosses in more advanced technology. Despite that, we’d stick with the well-appointed base trim.
Although Jeep is ranked among mainstream brands, most of those considering the Grand Wagoneer L will probably shop it against luxury models. The targeted rivals are a who’s-who list of opulent bruisers with impressive pedigrees. Among other stretched models, the Grand Wagoneer L prices are in the middle of the cost spectrum. For example, the Cadillac Escalade ESV and the Lincoln Navigator L start in the lower $90,000 range. Looking at some other elitist rivals: The Range Rover starts at more than $110,000, while the Mercedes-Benz GLS fetches about $90,000.
Before buying the Grand Wagoneer L, check the Kelley Blue Book Fair Purchase Price to know what you should really pay. Within the full-size luxury SUV class, the Grand Wagoneer L is perched exactly in the middle of the pack for holding value. Remember, the higher the resale value, the more you will have to put down on your next vehicle purchase.
No matter the row, there isn’t any difference in legroom between the Grand Wagoneer and the extended Grand Wagoneer L. In either, there is room for 6-footers to sit happily in the third row, even with two more 6-footers in the first and second rows.
Legroom in the first, second, and third rows is identical in the Grand Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer L: a respective 40.9, 42.7, and 36.6 inches. These numbers put the Grand Wagoneer models at the center of the segment. When evaluating cargo carrying for day-to-day use, we consider the volume behind the third row to be the most important. The Grand Wagoneer provides 27.4 cubic feet of cargo room behind its third-row seat, 70.8 cubic feet with that seat folded, and 116.7 cubic feet with both rows of rear seats lowered. For context, a GMC Yukon is similarly roomy, coming in at 25.5, 72.6, and 122.9 cubic feet, respectively. Cargo volume expands dramatically in the Grand Wagoneer L. There’s 44.2 cubic feet behind its third row, 88.8 cubic feet behind its second row, and 112.9 with both rows folded. For comparison, the Cadillac Escalade ESV is similar, offering 41.5, 94.1, and 142.8 cubic feet, respectively.
The Grand Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer L are handsome, if a bit understated. They look quite alike, the latter having noticeably longer back doors and much more rear overhang. The tale of the tape: The Grand Wagoneer L is 12 inches longer than the unstretched model.
User profiles
The Grand Wagoneer L allows up to five personalized user profiles. Preset preferences in seat position, cabin temperature, and audio choices are then presented automatically.
Amazon Alexa compatibility
This infotainment system includes wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone integration and Amazon Alexa compatibility with Amazon Fire TV, allowing occupants to enjoy hundreds of TV shows and movies. Moreover, we had no issue plugging in. For example, the Grand Wagoneer L offers up to 11 USB ports.
Rear-seat camera
The Grand Wagoneer L front passenger can keep an eye on the rest of the cabin using a personal screen. There’s also a zoom function for the upper trims for each seat, with memory settings for the most-watched positions.
McIntosh audio systems
Checking out the prices of highly desirable McIntosh home audio components usually induces deep gulps and bouts of lightheadedness. However, the Grand Wagoneer L has systems from this American company as standard. At the entry-level is a 19-speaker, 950-watt setup. The higher trims have a 23-speaker, 1,375-watt configuration. The bat-like hearing of our resident audiophile attests that this system is among the best out there, especially when playing high-quality, lossless music.
ParkSense Active Park Assist
We found the self-parking system for parallel and perpendicular spaces a godsend for a vehicle of this size. With a full complement of passengers and its T-rex-sized footprint, we argue that this may well be the ideal Grand Wagoneer L optional feature.
Center-row captain’s chairs
A 40/20/40 second-row bench seat comes standard on the three lower trims of the Grand Wagoneer L. Center-row captain’s chairs are optional on those trims and standard on the upper three trims, dropping the seating capacity to seven. However, they up the luxurious ambiance while providing easier third-row access. Furthermore, this feature gives middle-row passengers some extra “me” space.
Ripping a page from the book “Less Is More,” Jeep streamlined the engine lineup, fitting all Grand Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer L models with its Hurricane twin-turbo 6-cylinder engine married to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Generating 510 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque, the Grand Wagoneer L bests most of its rivals for engine performance. Rear-wheel drive (RWD) and 4-wheel drive (4WD) are available.
3-Year/36,000-Mile Warranty
Jeep arms its SUV lineup with the standard bumper-to-bumper limited coverage for a mainstream manufacturer: three years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. The limited powertrain coverage is for five years or 60,000 miles.
