Positive Review
would be a 10/10 if the back seat was a bit bigger, I have to sell now because my kids have outgrown it... What a great car it has been..:)
Critical Review
There have been a series of problems with the car. Interior issues with fading, cracking, leather lifting. Broken drain pipe under dash. Right after that was taken care of, another $500 mechanical repair...Now there is a whirring noise that I will have to pay to fix and based on everything else, it is bound to be major. I love to drive the car and appearance is unique but it has been a waste of money. The current value is way less than half of what I paid for it. Buttons stick, temperature shows up as 0 at least half the time. Display screen has begun to do unpredictable things.

This is a rare "diamond edition" convertible. It is in great shape beautiful pearlescent paint. There is a rip in the drivers leather seat.
Perfect all around. Two tone leather seats.
no cons
My Jaguar is probably the cleanest 2013 XK in the U.S. It looks like it was built yesterday. The car is in showcar condition.
Endless fun and prestige
Very low riding seat position and a bit cramped...
I've had the pleasure of owning my 2008 Jaguar XKR for over ten years now and still get compliments and head turns at it's beauty. I have had NO major breakdowns or repairs! Hailed as one of the premier car designs of all times this car's designer influence is still present in so many cars you see on the road today. The cars performance with it's dual superchargers deliver instant acceleration at all levels of the power band. That it is still respected and admired is mind boggling and I look forward to when the collector's interest begin to peak... as this is a one in a lifetime classic automobile!
Fast, grand tourer. Great handling, comfort.
Battery drain; Dated infotainment/navigation
I've owned previous Jag sedans and I have been wanting to get an XK8 for some time. A few years past and by the time I was ready to buy my car I now had the XK8 and the newer XK. I also considered the Porsche 911, Maserati Gran Turismo and Jag F Type. I decided to go with the the newer XK in the XKR model. Glad I did, it is a much more refined car. The supercharged 4.2 engine offers effortless pace just a few ticks off the 911 and F Type, but more comfort and room. It is great for long trips and has plenty of room for luggage (coupe). I've had no reliability issues since purchase. Although I haven't experienced this issue, it appears that the XK has a reputation for battery drain. Fit and finish is top notch and feels like quality. Even here in Michigan with our bad roads, the car doesn't rattle and feels solid. The ride quality, even being an XKR with 19" wheels is very compliant. The infotainment and navigation system is very dated. I was able to find a Bluetooth solution to work with my iPhone. Overall, I am very pleased and this one will be a keeper.
Fun to drive fast an good handling
Parts are most expensive of any car i owned
Fun to drive ! Fast handles very well. But parts are way over priced. One lower control arm factory 1000$ an you have to buy factory parts for this car mosty or it want drive the same , it have electrical gremlins tmp always comes on for no reason radio is not the best sound system , love driving but to keep on the road might to pricey for me in long run
The XK is a beautiful car. I have driven my 2007 daily and have now about 140,000 miles. Major problem is I can't leave car for more than 72 hrs without a trickle charger on. Dealer tells me a common problem. No one can find out why. AAA guy and I are on friendly terms since I have to call about 4 times/year. Runs smooth with a tight engine after much use . The styling is best ever and I have owned 6 Jags--XJS, XK8, XK and 3 saloon cars, all purchased new--none as beautiful as XK.. I live in California but even in good weather Jags are like a pretty woman--high maintenance.
Beautiful and fast
Constant issues. Very $$$ to fix.
I’ve had nothing but problems since I got the car used at 4 years old. It went from strut mounts needing repair to the AC multiple times needing repair and now is not working again. To the coolant leaking and needing multiple repairs. Thousands I’ve spent. It’s one thing after another. It’s extremely unreliable and very very expensive to fix - it looks gorgeous and it drives fast but I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Plus bc I financed I’m upside down almost 10 grand now that I’m trading it in. Avoid Jags unless it’s a lease.
Fun to drive
None
I have owned my XK convertible for 6 years, and like other fun cars I have owned I actually drive it. I enjoy the whole experience. There is hardly a day that goes by that somebody doesn’t remark about the car. No mechanical issues. I don’t drive it from January to May. So that means the other 8 months it is driven every day. It was the best year as far as JDPowers ratings go and it has not disappointed me. I couldn’t get a set of golf clubs in the 2015. I was lucky to find a showroom 2014 to buy.
