Positive Review
Thing is, I never thought I would ever own a car like this (2002) and now that I have I love how it drives. I bought it used and ended up putting about $8500 into it for various reasons ($2,400 cat converter and many other components around the engine) but all in all it never leaves me stranded. If there is an issue, it lets you know well in advance. I hate that it cost so much to repair, but I love that it keeps going even if it needs a repair. (Beware of the P1383 engine light code. Jag wanted to sell me a new engine. It just needed a software update!! Tech Service Bulletin S307-07) You need to find a quality non-dealer shop to keep costs down. If so...you will love this ride.
Critical Review
This is the worst car I have ever owned and I’m 72 and have owned a lot! I have also had Jaguars, most notably the E-type series three, V12. Now that was a car! This load of junk was built when Ford owned Jaguar, and it has been a constant source of breakdowns, failures, and returns to the shop. Luckily I have been able to fix a lot of things myself. If not it would have cost three times what I paid when new. The funniest thing was when the head liner fell down. not just a bit of it, but the whole thing fell on to the seats in one lump. The car was still under warranty, but the dealer said the head liner came under, “wear and tear”, like seats and was not covered. I told the sales manager I didn’t sit on the ceiling and made a stink in the showroom, but I never got anywhere. It cost $600 for a new liner and I wrote to the factory in Coventry, UK, but never had a reply. I will never touch another Jag, ever.

I feel like a queen when I drive my jag.
Beautiful, responsive, well-designed performer.
Don't neglect.
Specs: VDP, 4.2L Sport, Seafoam/Cream This is not just a beautiful car on the surface, it's also a pleasure to drive. It's sensitive, responsive, fun, and literally purrs as it smoothly accelerates with ease. Incredibly comfortable in front and back, it handles like a dream, LOVES the highway, the curves, and never fails to turn heads in town. This has also been a very reliable car with surprisingly good mileage...as good as our Toyota! Things to know: Most repair shops don't understand these cars (even "european car experts)" so find an indie Jag shop with great reviews with technician(s) that know older Jags (most good techs will have a couple of beauties on display). Definitely attend to the regular oil changes and maintenance, and these well-built driving machines will serve you well for decades. If you buy used, check maintenance records and/or get it looked over by a good Jag mechanic to avoid one that has been neglected or serviced by non-Jag specialists, because those kinds of repairs will be costly and compromise reliability.
Looks good, Smooth ride, Quality interior
Leg room, mileage
I was gifted this car by my grandfather after he bought a new one. It is a beautiful car, inside and out. Drives smoothly, and after 122,000 miles it's in relatively decent shape, especially after having three owners. My biggest complaint is that there is NO room whatsoever for anyone over 5'9". I am 6'3" and even with the seat pushed all the way back, my head still touches the ceiling and there is no leg room whatsoever. I would recommend this vehicle to anyone under 5'9".
