Drivers looking for a practical SUV with some panache should consider the Jaguar F-Pace. This is a more performance-oriented luxury compact SUV that doesn’t sacrifice practicality. The cabin is roomy and comfortable, the technology is user-friendly, and the driving experience is that of a smaller, sportier car.
Since the F-Pace just got a mid-cycle refresh for 2021, Jaguar isn’t making any significant changes for the 2022 model. A couple of minor updates include a standard power tailgate, standard adaptive cruise control with steer assist on the SVR model, and available Premium Cabin 30-color ambient lighting.
The 2022 Jaguar F-Pace primarily competes with the more high-end, high-performance European luxury SUVs in this class. A few other SUVs worth considering if you have a big budget for a sporty compact luxury SUV include the Alfa Romeo Stelvio, Porsche Macan, and Audi Q5.
2022 Jaguar F-PACE pricing starts at $31,139 for the F-PACE P250 Sport Utility 4D, which had a starting MSRP of $52,175 when new. The range-topping 2022 F-PACE SVR Sport Utility 4D starts at $53,825 today, originally priced from $87,875.

The Jaguar F-Pace is an SUV with the driving character of a sport sedan. It has a variety of engine options to choose from. The base 4-cylinder motivates the F-Pace just fine, and it never feels underpowered. However, upgrading to the 6-cylinder variants adds some extra excitement, and the mild-hybrid system helps it return decent fuel economy. If you’re looking for serious muscle in a luxury SUV, you’ll be interested in the stunning SVR model and the supercharged V8 under the hood.
You might be surprised by how well the Jaguar F-Pace handles. The handling is agile, the steering is precise, and the standard all-wheel-drive system helps make it sure-footed around corners. This SUV gets even more exciting in the SVR trim loaded with more performance-oriented components like upgraded brakes and suspension.
The F-Pace is eager and agile in spirited driving, but it’s also supremely comfortable on the daily commute. City and highway driving are relaxed and comfy, even on rough roads.
The interior design of the 5-passenger Jaguar F-Pace is as stylish as you’d expect from the pedigree of this British luxury brand. The interior materials are top-notch, and the design has a properly premium look and feel. Tech features like the standard 11.4-inch infotainment system are tastefully laid out and easy for the driver to use.
One of our favorite things about the Jaguar F-Pace is the interior space. This is one of the roomiest luxury SUVs in its class. The seating is spacious and accommodating, with plenty of room in the back seats. On top of that, the cargo space is among the best in class.
The Jaguar corporate design language is extremely well executed on this compact SUV. It has muscular yet elegant lines throughout the body, hinting at its athleticism, but it’s designed in a way that doesn’t compromise interior space. Meanwhile, stylish wheel designs and an attractive light signature make it look genuinely premium.
The Jaguar F-Pace is on the bigger side of compact luxury SUVs. Its length is similar to the Porsche Macan, BMW X3, and Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class, but the Jaguar is quite a bit wider than most of its rivals, resulting in a more prominent road presence.
PIVI PRO INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM
This standard infotainment system uses an 11.4-inch touchscreen with beautiful graphics and easy controls. It’s packed with features like Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, HD Radio, and more.
STANDARD AWD
Every variant of the Jaguar F-Pace comes standard with all-wheel drive, improving performance and all-weather traction.
In the base P250 Standard trim, the F-Pace is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. Like all F-Pace models, it has an 8-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.
Standard features in the F-Pace include a panoramic roof, LED headlights, 19-inch alloy wheels, Luxtec simulated leather seats, heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, 40/20/40 split-folding rear seats, ambient interior lighting, a power tailgate, wireless charging, and JaguarDrive Control with Eco, Dynamic, Normal, and Rain/Ice/Snow drive modes.
The standard infotainment system uses a beautiful 11.4-inch touchscreen loaded with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, HD Radio, SiriusXM, and a Meridian audio system.
Standard safety tech features in the F-Pace include lane-keeping assist, automatic high beams, a clear exit monitor, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, a driver condition monitor, emergency braking, and front/rear parking sensors.
Upgrading to the S trim introduces the available P340 6-cylinder powertrain as an option. It also adds 19-inch gloss black wheels, grained leather seats, the Pivi Pro infotainment system with the online pack and data plan, traffic sign recognition, and adaptive cruise control.
The S R-Dynamic model is even sportier with the standard P400 6-cylinder powertrain, a unique appearance package with a special body kit and wheels, perforated grained leather sport seats with contrast stitching, a soft grain leather steering wheel with R-Dynamic branding, and an ebony Morzine headliner.
Finally, the F-Pace SVR is the pinnacle of performance in a Jaguar SUV. On top of its thrilling supercharged V8 engine, it adds Adaptive Surface Response suspension, bigger brakes with red calipers, an electronic active rear differential, a special appearance package with 21-inch wheels, a unique interior with heated and cooled performance front seats, a heated steering wheel, aluminum trim, bright metal pedals, and plenty of SVR branding.
You also get some extra standard tech features with the SVR model like adaptive cruise control with steering assist, an interactive driver display, a power-adjustable steering column, and a 360-degree camera.
There are many individual options and option packages available throughout the model range like a Dynamic Handling Pack, a Premium Upgrade Interior Pack, a Black Exterior Styling Package, various wheel options, tons of interior trim options, Premium Cabin lighting, and much more.
There are four different powertrain options in the Jaguar F-Pace. The base P250 powertrain is a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 engine with respectable performance and decent fuel economy. P340 introduces a mild-hybrid inline-6 with a turbocharger and an electric supercharger. It’s a significant upgrade in performance over the 4-cylinder with only a slight reduction in efficiency. P400 uses a higher-performance tuning of the same inline-6.
Finally, the SVR model uses a supercharged V8, cranking out 542 horsepower plus other performance upgrades to the suspension, brakes, and more. This powerful engine makes the F-Pace a thrill to drive, but it’s pretty inefficient.
All F-Pace models are equipped with an 8-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.
