Positive Review

"It's never left me stranded!"

I purchased this car in 2004 and have never regretted it for even a second! It is comfortable, reliable and people often see it and say that they would not have ever guessed it to be a 2002. It must be a popular vehicle because I find it difficult to find some parts for it when it needs them. I would recommend this SUV to anyone!

The Vehical is ok I just need something bigger and better on gas milage...and it leaks black stuff out of all four doors it's sticky and very hard to remove from clothes and from the door its self...

Pretty Good Car

I bought this car about a month ago and about a week after having it my check engine light started flashing and the car started to skip. Got it put on the computer by my mechanic and he said it was the coil packs(which are 90 bucks a peice). Luckily the car dealership paid for a warrenty for me. Other that that problem it is a great riding vehicle and its the perfect size for me and my family. Its not the best on gas milage but I dont go on long trips. I would recommend this car to small families.

Inexpensive, reliable, luxury features.
Pros

Cheap, luxury features, no breakdowns

Cons

Isuzu doesn't make them any more... :(

I bought my 2002 Isuzu Axiom (2 wheel drive) in 2006. My Saab transmission went bad and my budget was blown by the loss, so I wasn't ready to sink a bunch of $$ into another Saab. However, I also wasn't ready to let go of leather seating, sun roof, and heated seats. I also decided I wanted an SUV. So I did a search, and this 2002 Axiom with 42K miles was the cheapest option that came up with all the features I wanted. I bought it for $8500 and have never had to do a major repair. The power is great, the seat heaters work. Mechanically everything has been great. She now has $127K miles and going strong. Because its been so strong and no major repairs, my car budget has recovered, but I can't make myself get another car, cause why bother if this one is working so well? I will say that I did have a transmission issue give me a scare about 1 year in. It was sticky and I could hear something rattling. But I googled it and it was known issue. I found a former isuzu mechanic who resolved it for just $125. Another issue was the wiper relay went bad, causing it to fail inspection at about year 6. There is no easy way to replace this relay. I had to special order it ($5) and pull out the circuit board from an awkward poistion behind the glove box, and solder it on my self. It was my first time soldering though, and I was successful. Issue was fixed and it passed inspection. It may be a rather anonymous vehicle, not exactly a high end luxury brand, but with leather, heated seats, sunroof, etc., its serving me just as well, and I will probably drive it for another 80K miles. I would highly recommend this vehicle, but the problem is, they don't make them anymore, so the best you can do is find a 2004 with low miles and go for it.

Great vehicle - wish they were still making them.
Pros

Great features - reliable

Cons

Ride choice is too soft or too stiff

Owned it since new 2002. 80000 miles. Zero problems. Changed the sepentine belt myself about 4 years ago. Can't believe the poor resale value. Have used synthetic oil since first oil change. Lot of great features equal to much more expensive cars.
