Infiniti’s luxurious sports coupe has a choice of two potent engines, both twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6s that require premium gasoline. In the Pure and Luxe models, the aluminum-block engine puts out 300 horsepower, whereas the Red Sport 400 versions pack a 400-horsepower punch. As such, these Infiniti coupes aren’t lacking any thrust, and they are a delight to drive on a twisting mountain road.
Rear- or all-wheel-drive models are available, and although the Q60 is aging, the updated InTouch infotainment system makes this luxurious coupe feel much more contemporary when compared against competitors like the Audi A5/S5.
2020 INFINITI Q60 pricing starts at $27,646 for the Q60 3.0t Pure Coupe 2D, which had a starting MSRP of $42,375 when new. The range-topping 2020 Q60 Red Sport 400 Coupe 2D starts at $31,727 today, originally priced from $58,175.

The 2020 Infiniti Q60 is larger and heavier than many competitors, but it’s an agile and exciting performer nonetheless. With 300 horsepower, the base engine in the Q60 3.0t feels totally acceptable for everyday use, propelling this luxurious Infiniti coupe up to freeway speeds with a dignified ease and posting reasonably quick acceleration times at the test track.
However, it’s the 400-horsepower V6 in the Red Sport 400 that really brings the Q60 to life and accelerates our pulse. This direct-injected V6 makes for a Q60 that hits 60 mph in less than five seconds, accompanied all the while by a particularly sweet-sounding exhaust note.
The 7-speed automatic transmission in the 2020 Q60 works well, and although the paddle shifters and rev-matching technology dial up the fun quotient considerably, it’s still not quite as satisfying as a traditional manual. The Red Sport 400 model is on the stiff side of acceptable, so some folks may find that the Q60 Luxe model is a better daily driver.
To be clear, the Q60’s ride isn’t as compliant as an Audi A5’s, but it’s not harsh. And while the back seat of this Infiniti is far from spacious, the Q60 is a quiet car. At its price point, however, a leather interior should be standard, not an option.
Attractive, comfortable and finely crafted, the interior of the 2020 Infiniti Q60 is a pleasing mix of technology, design and strong ergonomics. Control placement is excellent, aided by a tilt/telescope steering wheel, and the touch screens that control the navigation and infotainment systems have been improved with Infiniti’s adoption of the updated InTouch infotainment system for 2020.
Seat comfort ranks among the best in the segment, and although a tall driver might feel a bit cramped inside the car, the Q60’s sightlines are surprisingly good for such an aggressively styled coupe. Rear headroom is not suitable for adults, and there’s decent leg room in back only if the driver is short. As for the Q60 trunk: It’s by no means large, but it can accept a couple of midsize roller bags.
We like the Q60’s hunkered-down stance, and the rear-drive Red Sport 400 model — with staggered-width 255/35R-20 tires in front and 275/30R-20 rears — looks particularly aggressive. But all 2020 Q60s are artfully styled, and they benefit from beautiful details like drilled exhaust tips, a 3D grille badge and a unique aero bulge that begins in the grille and extends to the hood. Infiniti’s Q60 is visually more interesting than the Mercedes C-Class Coupe, more voluptuous than the BMW 4 Series, and less cartoonish than the Lexus RC.
DYNAMIC DIGITAL SUSPENSION
With the flick of a switch, the available Digital Dynamic suspension can transform the Infiniti Q60 from a comfortable boulevard cruiser into a knife-edged canyon carver. All the while, this suspension continually adjusts to help the Q60 deal with road imperfections or twisty roads.
DRIVE-MODE SELECTOR
Via a rocker switch on the center console, the Q60 driver can select among Standard, Snow, Eco, Sport, Sport+ and Personal driving modes. The tuning of the engine and suspension, and also that of the electrically assisted steering, is specifically tailored for the given mode.
The 2020 Infiniti Q60 is well equipped, but we wish the base model, the Pure, had a standard leather interior. On a positive note, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto has been made standard on all Q60s for 2020.
The Q60 Pure is well equipped with LED headlights and taillights, plus 19-inch alloy wheels, push-button ignition, a pair of front USB ports, brushed-aluminum interior trim and satellite radio. With the Q60 Luxe, you get automatic emergency braking, a power moonroof and an upgraded Bose stereo.
Infiniti’s top Q60, the Red Sport 400, boasts the 400-horsepower twin-turbo V6, red-painted brake calipers, staggered-width 20-inch alloy wheels, satin-finish exhaust tips and semi-aniline interior leather. If you order the Q60 Red Sport 400 AWD, it gets all-wheel drive, of course, but its 19-inch alloy wheels are shod with all-season rubber, size 255/35R-20 at each corner.
A new Q60 Edition 30 model, which celebrates Infiniti’s 30 years in America, comes with unique badging, a black mesh grille, dark chrome trim, dark 19-inch alloy wheels and much of the hardware found in the Q60’s optional Essential Package.
An Essential Package available on the Q60 Luxe model isn’t inexpensive ($3,200), but it brings a lot to the table. It includes voice navigation, Sirius XM Traffic and Travel Link, automatic collision notification, heated front seats and steering wheel, a power tilt-and-telescope steering wheel, power-adjustable side bolsters and lumbar support for the driver’s seat, and a dual-occupant memory system for the driver’s seat, steering column and outside mirrors.
If you want a Q60 Luxe with a leather interior, it’s a $1,350 option. We’d also seriously consider the $1,650 Pro Assist Package because it has three safety systems that we consider very worthwhile: blind-spot warning, an around-view monitor and backup collision prevention.
With the 2020 Q60, you continue to get two engine choices, both direct-injected twin-turbo V6s that displace 3.0 liters. In the Q60 Pure and Luxe trims, this engine produces 300 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. In the Q60 Red Sport 400, that jumps to 400 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque. All Q60s employ a 7-speed automatic transmission with manual-shift mode and rev-matching technology. A manual transmission is not offered. Rear- and all-wheel-drive (RWD, AWD) models are available.
