For those who want a stylish sub-$50K luxury vehicle with genuine sporting credentials and a relatively attractive price tag, the 2014 Infiniti Q60 is a safe bet.
In addition to the Q60’s large appetite for fuel, rear-seat legroom and headroom are noticeably tighter than most 2-door rivals. What’s more, the Q60 convertible’s retractable hardtop every so often produces irritating squeaks and rattles.
Beyond the adoption of Infiniti’s Q-centric nomenclature and a new Venetian Ruby exterior hue, the Infiniti Q60 carries over unchanged from last year’s G37 coupe and convertible.
Formerly known as the G37 coupe and convertible, the 2014 Infiniti Q60 line continues to occupy the middle ground between dedicated sports cars and entry-level luxury sedans. Fitted with such performance-focused hardware as an optional 6-speed manual gearbox, rear-wheel drive, and a 330-horsepower V6, the Infiniti Q60 has an edge over the more buttoned-down Audi A5 and Lexus IS coupe in terms of visceral driver involvement. Modern interior amenities and civilized road manners put the Q60 on competitive footing with long-refined nameplates like the BMW 3 Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class. This high level of athleticism does come at a price, though, as both the Q60 coupe and hardtop convertible return some of the lowest real-world fuel economy numbers in their respective categories.
2014 INFINITI Q60 pricing starts at $13,204 for the Q60 Journey Coupe 2D, which had a starting MSRP of $41,855 when new. The range-topping 2014 Q60 IPL Convertible 2D starts at $18,029 today, originally priced from $62,355.

The Kelley Blue Book Fair Purchase Price for any individual used vehicle can vary greatly according to mileage, condition, location, and other factors. Every Infiniti Q60 pampers its occupants with a comfortable ride, a strong sense of refinement – save for the convertible hardtop – and an array of high-tech goodies. But drive enthusiastically and the sportiest Infiniti satisfies like few competitors can, with accurate steering, crisp brakes and a planted feel. The responsive 3.7-liter V6 pulls strongly, whether mated to the 7-speed automatic or 6-speed manual transmission. Should you find the Sport 6MT package not quite sporty enough, higher-performing Q60 IPL (Infiniti Performance Line) variants are available in coupe and convertible form, which offer more power, a tauter suspension and larger brakes. All 2014 Q60 models benefit from a driver-selectable Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) system that lets you to explore the Q60’s outer roadholding limits before the system intervenes. If you live in a frosty climate, or prefer a little extra traction driving out of corners, you can opt for the Intelligent All-Wheel Drive system on the coupe (with automatic transmission only).
The Infiniti Q60’s interior is exceptional both in design and in quality of materials. The cabin is marked by supple leather surfaces and elegant, soft-sheen “Silk Obi” aluminum trim. The form-fitting standard driver’s seat features 8-way power adjustability, while Sport 6MT models offer increased support and 12-way adjustability. Most vehicle functions are accessed through a 7-inch, full-color display mounted high in the center stack for better readability while behind the wheel. Regarding everyday use, rear outward visibility is obstructed to some extent by the coupe’s racy C-pillars and the convertible’s narrow rear glass, although the standard backup camera alleviates most reversing-related anxiety.
Every version in the 2014 Infiniti Q60 series comes wrapped in a well-tailored suit of sleek sheet metal combined with subtle chrome accents and Infiniti’s signature 4-bar grille design. When night falls, standard bi-xenon headlights and LED taillights provide an upscale, modern look. The Q60 coupe and convertible each offer available 19-inch wheels and IPL-specific front and rear body pieces, side sills, and a rear decklid spoiler.
ADAPTIVE CLIMATE CONTROL
Maintaining a comfortable, consistent climate during open-top driving can be a tedious task. That’s why the Q60 convertible comes standard with adaptive climate control, a system designed to automatically adjust heating and air conditioning levels depending on vehicle speed.
INTELLIGENT CRUISE CONTROL
Infiniti’s available Intelligent Cruise Control system helps maintain a pre-set distance from the vehicle traveling ahead of you. When that distance becomes shorter than the driver’s pre-set parameters, Intelligent Cruise Control will renew the predetermined distance by automatically reducing the vehicle’s speed.
Unlike the Audi A5 and Mercedes-Benz C-Class coupe, the value-oriented Q60 offers bi-xenon headlights (xenon illumination for the low and high beams), keyless access with push-button start, and heated front seats as standard issue. Base Q60 models also include dual-zone climate control, an 8-way power driver’s seat, leather, a backup camera (optional on the M-B, BMW, Audi and Lexus), and a 6-speaker audio system with a USB port for portable music players. Safety equipment consists of six airbags, active head restraints to reduce the severity of whiplash, and Nissan’s slide-away brake pedal assembly that moves the brake pedal away from the driver in certain front-end collisions to help prevent lower-leg injuries.
Most feature content is bundled together into four option packages: Premium, Sport, Navigation and Technology. Assorted highlights include a viscous limited-slip differential for the hardcore driving enthusiast, navigation with 3D building icons and traffic overlays, a highly-recommended 11-speaker Bose premium audio system (sound quality from the standard setup is mediocre at best), a supremely comfortable 12-way driver’s seat with a thigh extension for long-legged drivers, and an advanced air-filtration system complete with ionic and odor-reducing purifiers.
The Q60’s robust 3.7-liter V6 is the latest iteration of Nissan’s renowned VQ35-series all-aluminum DOHC engine. Transmission choices include a standard 7-speed automatic or close-ratio 6-speed manual. The IPL edition makes use of retuned engine-management software and freer-flowing exhaust for a minor bump in power. Regardless of configuration, all Q60s require premium-unleaded gasoline.
