Positive Review
I've owned my I30 since 2007, bought it used w/ 75k on the clock. The Nissan V6 is bulletproof. 200k on it now with only minor repairs. The CV joints have been replaced twice, and it went through 3 starters in the first 3 years. My only complaint is the odd location of the only cupholder inside the center console.
Critical Review
Used as a commuter car for several years (to Fremont) - good gas and very reliable; then handed down to our son who used it for around town (Morgan Hill). Lots of miles - and still going. Besides the miles, I'd rate this as Fair on the Blue Book scale because the Interior is worn - seats need seat covers, sun damage in some areas and needs new tires. Exterior has some minor scratches. My husband passed away and my son now has his brand new car of his own. This car is just sitting and should be useful to someone. I just need to get rid of it ASAP!

powertrain, reliability
cupholders!
I bought a black 1996 Infiniti I30 with black leather interior that had about 112,000 miles on it during the summer of 2009 for 3000 dollars cash. I bought it while I was in community college, so it stayed at my parents house while I was still local and then was parked in the woods on our property for a year or two while I went to school in the city only occasionally used...mostly just sat. Around 2013, it was revived....all it needed was new brake lines, oil change, and a battery after over a year of sitting in the woods. From 2013-2017, it was used to deliver food all across Chicago sometimes for 12 hour shifts...so the car would literally be running and driving for 10-12 hours most days. The only time it failed me was a bad starter. Every other time, it came through and it never had issues.
Fun and comftable car with lots of room and trunk
Unstable idle ar times
Strong reliable trooper with lots of power and solid engine. Transmission is great and this car will power up any steep hill.
RELIABLE, Very stylish when maintained
None
I owned this car for 12 years prior to the very recent demise of my wonderful 1997 I30. I bought it at an auction in 2004 with 115000 miles in immaculate condition and had to retire it at 265000+ (too much body damage/rust and brake line failure that scared me). This car is, bar none, THE most reliable car sold on the shores of the US!!! Repairs are few and far between, and when they are needed, they are extremely easy to diagnose and repair. It should be noted that the last 3 years that I owned the vehicle I completely left it to its own devices (decay) and it absolutely refused to die. It was a smooth riding vehicle (once front control arms, struts replaced at 195k) until the day of its towing. The car led a brutal (Northeast, LOTS of snow/salt coated streets) life under my reign (especially the last 3 years) and I know it would gone ANOTHER 100k with only adequate care.. The only REOCCURING issues were: Front Wheel bearings (3)@ 150 per repair Starters (2)@ apx $200 per Ignition Coils (tune up) (4)@ > $50 per incident THe sume of ALL my repairs was less than 3k overall. How's that for a 265000 mile car!!!! I WILL be buying another. Very soon!!!
amazing car
no blue tooth
I am the 2nd owner of this auto. purchased with 72,000 miles. have cared for it as if it was new. Still runs the same. Great gas mileage. all paperwork.
Not much goes wrong, reliable, comfortable, solid
luxury, expect higher repair cost. (not a con)
I have owned this car since 2001, and really like it. It rides nice, has nice interior features all around, very stylish exterior. I get about 22 mpg in town which is above average and I use the regular unleaded. Since I've owned it, I have replaced all the shocks and struts, all hoses & gaskets, tires, air compressor, and one sensor inside the exhaust. This car has a TIMING CHAIN, not a belt that wears out and needs replacing. I do regular maintenance on the car to prolong its life, and the car still runs and drives like a new car. YES, repairs are expensive, but it is an infiniti, repairs should be expected to be higher than an average car. You don't buy a luxury car and expect low repair cost. In the 15 years I've owned this car, I have spent ONLY about 7000 to keep in running great. About 6ooo of that was the last 5 years, including upgrading to touchscreen stereo with phone, and remote start. It has been one of the best cars I have ever owned. Remember, you get what you pay for, and you have to pay to keep it.
Fun to drive
Rock in windy weather
The vehicle is too small. I purchased the vehicle 9 months ago and I'm having issues already. I have to get the struts replaced. Its horrible. And it rocks in the wind
Comfortable - great ride. I like the sun/moon roof
Seats Worn. Lots of miles.
