"Best vehicle I have ever owned"

Most reliable car owned. CD player a problem. Dealer replaced 2 times-still an issue. Great ride-fun to drive. carrying capacity is great. Purchased new in 2003 and still going strong. With fluid changes and replacement of the cv boots, it will then go my son.

"Great Driving Car, But Still Disappointing"

I am the second owner of this car, having purchased it used with 5,000 miles from a dealer. I put on the next 75,000 miles and still own the car. This is probably the nicest driving car I've ever owned. The six cylinder engine is just incredible: responsive, strong, and fast. It's a joy to enter the freeway. It's quiet and, given that it's not a luxury liner, smooth. The seats, front and rear, are some of the most comfortable I've ever sat in. Others have commented favorably as well. The leather has held up well. I simply love driving this car. That's the good part. The not so good? Actually, quite a number of things for a relatively expensive car and a brand that aspires to luxury vehicle status. First the mileage. In this day and age, it's unacceptable for a modern v-6. In city driving expect around 12 - 14 mpg. That's only slightly better than my Dodge v-8 pickup. Highway driving is somewhat better at around 22 mpg. But the instant you get off the freeway, the mileage plummets. The electrical components are where the car really doesn't meet quality standards at any level. The cd player is notorious for failing...check any of the Infiniti forums...and mine did twice. After the first failure, it unexpectedly came back to life after a month or so. Cost to repair at the dealer? $700. No thanks. The tail gate latch, which is electrically wired to the instrument panel to alert you to an open door or gate, also failed. Cost to fix...$450 for the part (yes, you read that right) and another $150 to install. The gas gauge has never worked properly, even after being replaced under warranty. It refuses to show a full tank. The side mirror adjustment panel in the dash pushed back into the panel. Not electrical and not hard to fix, but whaaa??? Finally, as others have mentioned, the dash is bubbling now. That's REALLY aggregating. No other car I've ever owned has had that problem, including two Fords (Mustang GT and SC Coupe), both that had more mileage and were exposed to the same California Valley heat as the FX35. On that note, I also have to say that the interior is spartan. In someways, the clean look is not unattractive, but there is really nothing distinctive about it, and certainly nothing that says "premiere." And please, get rid of the analog clock and put the time in the electronic display, where everyone expects to see it. I can't tell you how many passengers have looked and looked at the dash and then asked what time it is. Ridiculous. As fabulous as this car is to drive, I think there are others in this price range...or even much cheaper...that drive as well and have better reliability and more attractive interiors. I wouldn't buy another Infiniti.

Great car!
Pros

Dependable

Cons

none

I have the FX35 and have 235,000 miles on it. Just had a timing issue, that is the ONLY problem I have ever had out of this car. Timing chain will be a butt to repair and shops wont touch it because of the high milage, but Im handy so it shouldn't be an issue. This car is FUN to drive, has plenty of power and the interior is sharp. If you find one of these buy it!

Literally a 350 Z in a SUV body
Pros

Blast to drive! Passing is no problem

Cons

Somewhat if a stiff ride due the tight suspension

Fast and Fun!! It gets ok gas mileage as long as your not driving like it's Tokyo drift. It handles like a sport sedan. On and off-ramps are a blast, with the sticky 18 or 20 in tires that come on it. It definitely gets attention wherever you go with the VQ growl from the tailpipe and the stunning looks. I can't say enough about it. Repairs can get somewhat costly as Infiniti is a "luxury brand", but definitely not outrageous. For 13 years old, people think it's a lot newer. 130,000 miles and it runs like a champ, with no CVT and no turbo 4 cylinder. A real 5 sped A/T, pared to a N/A v6 that is placed behind the front wheels. The way Nissan/ Infiniti used to be!

One of the best cars that I have owned. Still good
Pros

Really good handle on the curb's

Cons

Only one, the board bubble.

Everything is still the originals equipment that came with the car. Added DRL lights . The only complaint will be the hole board is getting some bubble from the sun heat I can't complaint about anything else. One of the most relaxing car to drive, owning'it for 12 year's and been a Uber driver for over 5 years getting a 10-12 h on the road 6 days a week you will definitely not feel exhausted at the end of the day. Wish that they would have continued make the model . With all my respect for the company Petre.

Solid! Reliable! Great looking! Comfortable!

I got orange with brown leather fx45 at about 80,000 mi almost 10 years ago. Now, with 205000 mi, i can with vouch for this car, and would get another one in a heartbeat! I had to replace driveshaft and a/c compressor (expected, because live in phx, az). Vehicle is powerful, very comfortable, stylish, and easy to drive due to properly designed suspension. If you can find one with low miles, do not hesitate, and you will not be disappointed!

Awesome SUV

I truly love my FX35. Ive just gotten to a point where I would like to be in a smaller car. The truck has awesome power, and the AWD gives it excellent handling capabilities. I love the fact that I also have Navigation, the sunroof, and the speakers are amazing. I love the Bose thats included, along with having the in-dash CD changer. My truck also comes with the 20in Factory rims.
