Positive Review
I was in the market for a hatchback and i was intrigued with the veloster but after reading some reviews saying how the car is slow and sluggish i had to test drive one the car is just fine it drives just like a mazda3, focus or civic its not a v8 600 hp car but its really reasonable especially with the gas mileage it gets. the car is the most comfortable and it has more room in the front and back ( im 6'4 )of the cars i tested, it has the most gadgets for the money it drives really good and its the best looking in my opinion. I just advise people that are thinking about buying the car to actually drive it before discarding it because you will enjoy it, especially with the eco off. ps: that thing about leaking in the back when it rains doesn't happen on mine not sure if it got fixed with the 2013 model or what but its good.
Critical Review
This car may look good but it really isn't worth the money. I've had this car for almost 3 yrs and think almost every day I wish I had not purchased it.

Gas is super cheap, perfect for first car
Blind spots, issues with age, not smooth driving
Blind spots are a little scary breaks are jerky and the rides can be a little rough. but it has good interior features and works well for a first car! I don’t ever want to get rid of it because it’s only $35 to fill up my tank and lasts a long time.
I love my 2016 Veloster. Sporty. Plenty of power, no body rust at all.fun to drive . Great on gas. Great cargo space. Sunroof is a plus. Good in snow with winter tires. I’d buy it again.
Affordable, Fun, Sporty, Semi-Spacious, Economy
Bumpy ride, lacks passenger space
This little hatchback actually has a lot of room in the front seats. I'm 6'4" 220lbs and I sit comfortably with my seat adjusted properly. That being said, no room to sit behind me. I never really have more than 1-2 people riding with me occasionally, so the unusual but cool 3-door approach works perfectly. I love that the driver's side door and window are much longer than the passenger side. I am writing this review in December of 2023 with 84,000 miles on it, I purchased the car USED in February of 2019 with 32,000 miles on it. It has been reliable, fuel efficient (depending on how heavy your gas-pedal foot tends to be), and fun to whip around listening to the decent premium sound system. I have put very little money into the car over time. I do all of my routine maintenance in a timely manner and have seen no issues. Just recently I was told I had a leaky strut, and the labor for that was tough. This month I replaced both front struts, brakes, and bearings costing me about $1,100 in labor at the dealership, but that is the first time I had to put in more than a couple hundred bucks in 5 years of driving. CONS: The only con of this car really is that you will feel every bump in the road. That is just due to the very short wheelbase of the car among other things. Never bothered me too much. That and the lack of space, but if space isn't a concern then this is a very affordable, fun, sporty car that has proven to be pretty reliable for me. We will see what the next couple of years bring as I near and surpass 100k. Plan to trade in for a new Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid in 2025 if all goes to plan.
Economical
Blind spots
Compact and good gas mileage. Love the style. Highway driving get about 50 miles per gallon. The only issue are blind spots.
Stylish And great gas mileage
Everything else
These cars are notorious for engine issues and more. Hyundai does nothing to help and you are just stuck with a car that is always in the shop. Search the issues people have and you will see. On the bright side the car does look cool.
Truly a fun car to drive.
Did not like low profile tires. I had a need to ch
It's a good handling car. Grips the corners. Comfortable, good on gas. A lot of room. This car is great for all ages.

car in perfect condition……………………………………..
Super fun car
Not great in snow
This car has been a joy to drive. So much fun and surprisingly versatile. Has been super reliable and get so many complaints on it. I absolutely hate to be selling it, but it just doesn’t fit my lifestyle at the moment. I’d definitely own another someday.
