Positive Review
To those who say they get poor mileage, my Tucson (GLS with AWD) easily gets 26MPG overall average. City driving average 22-23MPG. On long stretches of highway driving 29MPG is common. Winter driving is somewhat lower 23-24MPG overall average. If you have a "lead" foot then your mileage will suffer. Really have no complaints other than the somewhat small gas tank (~14gals) about this vehicle. Have over 17000 miles and not a problem. There is enough power to pass when I need it. The seats are comfortable, the voice activated NAV control is easy to use. You do have to train it with your voice. The six speed auto is very smooth both on up-shifts and down-shifts. The main points for buying this vehicle were AWD, styling, build quality, mileage and the great warranty!
Critical Review
This vehicle was ok in the beginning but then things started to go wrong. The first was just annoying and the dealer wouldn't fix it was the radio. It draws the power out now and it won't start in the mornings. It only has 75k on it, pretty disappointed a little issue can't be fixed easily. The other issue is the shocks are going out, really? You would think they would use better quality in their vehicle or at least provide better customer service. The quality of the vehicle is the last thing I want to mention because you realize the longer you own this vehicle the cheaper it is made.

Purchase price, doesn’t make up for low quality
Poorly made, doesn’t hold value, rattles and noises in interior
Purchased with 115k miles and changed the oil and maintained vehicle properly. Owned for 2 years and engine seized while driving on interstate at 152k miles. Owned lots of vehicles with many more miles and never had an issue. Hyundai/Kia is complete garbage. Do yourself a favor and don’t buy any of their junk.
Economical , roomy, safe
I am the original owner of the 14 Tucson. It’s been a great car very reliable. Very safe and comfortable ride and lots of fun times. New breaks last summer & fall 2024 all New Tires. The maintenance has been kept on schedule Hyundai’s service department has solved the manufactures recall to date. In January 25’ a new engine was installed by Hyundai Of Colorado Springs service department.. Very impressed with quality and professionalism. She runs beautifully looks very sharp at 10yrs.
We have driven this car for a little over 196K miles. aside from the expected small damage and wear and tear we have not had any significant issues, we have of course maintained the vehicle to the best of our abilities, will definitely consider getting another one, this one will be sorely missed.
Has been reliable. Handing is still great. Comfortable even with original seats. A little more noisy than before. Fuel economy has never been good. Attributed to larger tires and AWD I guess. Almost gave 4 stars, but I have been happy enough for 5 stars.
This vehicle is easily stolen. There is nothing written about this. Buyer beware! This fact also impacts the value.
It was fun while it lasted
Engine seized right after the warranty expired
I realized too late of the Theta Engine Settlement for my defective 2015 Hyundai Tuscon GLS 2.0 Now that I experienced a sudden seized engine without any warning, I feel the only remedy is to file a lawsuit against Hyundai Motor. Total cost for repair $6,500 to replace the engine with another engine of equal value, plus parts and labor. My car was under the average annual mileage.
Looks nice
Motor sucks
Don't waste your time and money on this junk car. The engine seizes without warning even with good maintenence. It's not worth the mental trip.
Love the color, size and has savings
To much maintenance needed every year
Had the car 8 months brand new AC compressor goes out, pull leaks, put 1600 bucs into it in Jan 2020 for something with the engine. Now the car is at the dealership getting a new engine and it's on recall for breaks. Horrible car and biggest mistake. I'll keep me 2005 Dodge Ram worth zero problem and over 200k miles
