"After 9 years and 240,000 miles another Hyundai?"

The 2007 Tucson 2.0 base FWD model is my 1st and only SUV.Being hard pressed for wheels,I went to the nearest dealer;Hyundai.I purchased it without any research or test drive of any SUV.In all I am very satisfied with it.It has never let me down.I trailered bikes, hauled a fridge, safe, scrap metal. But it has inconvenienced me with: oil change access, radio replacements, power window failures(could have been caused by my dogs),a cloth center console armrest, flaking steering wheel, hole in the door armrest caused by my resting elbow.Maintenance was normal:timing belt, alternator, water pump, oil seals, spark plugs & wires and the original working starter a month ago.Oil changes every 3,333 miles(easier to track).Next SUV?Tucson?CX5? Forrester? This time convenience/safety and reliability will count.A hard choice to make when I get to 300,000!

"very surprised with terrible suspension troubles"

I have only heard great things about Hyundai. Bought it 2 years ago used so I expected some maintenance. Still owe $5,500 and have put $3,000 into car between alternator, all plugs, wires, all struts, sway bar links, both crossbars. The whole suspension has caused me trouble and I don't get it. I'll never buy again. I've had GMC and Chevy and never had to replace any of these things at 180,000

Most reliable car I've ever owned!
Pros

Starts first time, every time; trouble-free

Cons

No complaints

I bought my 2007 Tuscon new and couldn't be happier! I usually replace my vehicles every 10 years when the warranty expires, but my Tuscon has been so trouble-free it just didn't make sense to replace it. It hasn't needed a single repair (knock wood) in 15 years! The only thing that needed replacing was the rear window wiper that I accidentally broke off. It still looks showroom new ( I wash it often & use a ceramic type wax a couple times a year.) Living in N.E. Ohio snow can be a problem, but my Tuscon handles even heavy snows without a problem. The anti-lock brakes make even sudden stops safe. It has plenty of room so I can carry loads of firewood, tons of packages and even the occasional appliance. There's a storage area between the front seats that holds about 7 cds plus a little tray under the center armrest where one can put proof of insurance etc. There's another fold-up armrest in the back seat and more storage in the doors. After an injury sustained by a family member we added a wheelchair lift that only takes up a small 2 x 2 fitting in the rear. (The rest of the lift disassembles into 3 pieces.) The electric scooter fits beautifully after removing just the seat. All the doors are wide and the front seats move back far enough that my 6'5" brother can sit comfortably in the front seats. The rear seats have plenty of room depending on how far back the front seats are situated. Even after 15 years it has excellent acceleration so freeway driving is a pleasure. It starts on the first turn of the key regardless of the weather. N. E. Ohio just had one of it's coldest winters in decades and my Tuscon started easily. It still gets about 25mpg on the freeway and roughly 18 city driving which, considering the fact fuel efficiency wasn't a big deal in 2007 is remarkable. We often exceed the recommended oil and transmission fluid replacements by doing early changes and every 3rd or 4th change we have the mechanic do a flush, which we've found helps extend engine life significantly. The stereo system is terrific, and I can set it to where it's like surround sound for the driver. Mine came with the cd/tape deck combo so I can play some of my vintage tapes along with disks. I am extremely happy with my 2007 Tuscon and look forward to driving it for many years to come.

Most trouble-free car I have ever owned.
Pros

Long warranty. Styling, reliability

Cons

Engine noise, sluggish pickup.

Mine is the 2006 Ltd model with 4wd, 6cyl , leather. After going through 3 pontiacs, a Plymouth, and 2 Dodges, I have found a vehicle to love. Purchased brand new 16 yrs ago, It fits my needs. With the back seats flat i have hauled small furniture easily. I’ve con-templated getting a new car for the last couple of years (just *because* I’ve usually kept my cars 8-9 yrs) but can’t seem to give this one up. It even still looks new and runs great. It hasn’t spent a lot of time in repair shops. Most repairs were related to recalls. Right now the tpms doesn’t work but I don’t care. And the hydraulic rear cargo door doesn’t stay raised while loading in cold weather. It is not a race car but it will get me where I need to go.That’s about it. This suv is the most trouble-free car I have ever owned.

Best car ever
Pros

safe, reliable, smooth ride, roomy

Cons

gas mileage lower then predicted

I love my car. Bought it brand new, and will replace it with the same. In 14 years other than your typical maintenance I have spent less then $1k on repairs. I've never got stuck on the side of the road, in the snow, or in mud. This is the most reliable car I have ever had. The gas mileage is not that great. According to the dashboard, it's 22 mpg, oh believe me the sticker on the window was higher, never hit that. No weird noises, no weird handling, this car has been so reliable that it cancelled out my typical replacement schedule and will soon be hitting 15 years old. There is some rust spots trying to appear, I have been diligent in treating those as quick as I discover them. Having a white car, I find and can treat them quickly. Handling is great, pick up and go is great. Have had a couple of recalls on it, the one that angered me the most, was I had to replace the oil pan due to rust. That was just under $300 and 6 weeks later it was recalled, never got refunded. I keep going to the Hyundai website and pricing out the same thing, almost to the point of buying one, will get there in a few months. Someone will be a lucky person when I sell this.

Best vehicle that I've ever owned !!!
Pros

Drives great on snow, never breaks down

Cons

None

Safest, best running and most reliable car I've ever owned. I will definitely buy another one when this one finally dies on me!! Although, I have 251,000 miles and it still runs like new. I bragg on it all the time because I love it so much. I've always kept my maintenance up and it's never given me any problems in 14 years!!!

Great SUV! My wife loves it.
Pros

Engine size is great, 4 wheel drive, decent space.

Cons

Gas mileage is not the best. 20 MPG in the city.

My wife and I bought this SUV almost 2 years ago; we love it so far. It runs great, and we have not had any issues. I really like the power that the engine has, even though the gas mileage is not the best, it only gives 20 MPG in the city, and around 23 in the freeway. This Tucson seems to have the perfect engine for the size of the car. It also runs great in the snow. We are planning to keep it for a long time.
