Positive Review
I must admit I did not go shopping for a Kona. Actually I didn't even know it existed. I had taken my 2017 Genesis G90 5.0 Ultimate in for regular service and was wandering around the showroom and I saw it - or rather it jumped out at me. I was taken aback by its matte grey finish, red roof and the special wheels. It was lust at first site. My wife just rolled her eyes but I had to have it. Traded her 2017 MINI Cooper in on it after some fast talking on my part (even after 51 years of marriage a little bribery works fine). Anyway I have not regretted it since. It is a blast to drive and everywhere I go people always ask me about it. I came out of the grocery store the other day and this lady was taking pictures if it. That has actually happened quite often: restaurants, grocery store, gas stations etc. My poor Genesis has sat in the garage quite a lot since I bought the Iron Man. OK so is it perfect? No. There are a few touches they could have added like power folding mirrors (nice to get into the garage with the big Genesis talking up a lot of space), too much hard plastic (they could have used a bit more soft touch), and some nice red indirect lighting could have been nice. But the pros far outweigh the cons. Punchy 1.6 Liter, Turbo four coupled with the 7 Speed DCT make it fun to drive, the leather seats are very comfortable, I've averaged about 31 mpg with mixed city and highway, my grandkids LOVE it, etc. I admit it's not for everyone but I love it. I figure at 71 years old I need as much excitement in life as I can get.
Critical Review
This vehicle is trash, I literally just traded in this stupid looking vehicle in. Not worth buying, don't waist your time. Go buy something better that will hold a resale value. These vehicles are not a good choice. Cheap transmission, cheap engine and there's no good things to say about it.

I really wanted to like this car. It's the first one I've ever bought brand new. The very first day I had it, one of the rings holding down the net in the trunk snapped. Within the first 3 months, the entire dashboard went out. If the lane assist is turned on, it causes you to almost drift into other cars. It's slow to accelerate. I've had it lock up on me as I tried to turn and have almost gotten hit in the process because of this. I have less than 29K miles on it after owning it for four years and it's currently in the shop for a brand new engine. I've taken care of this car, but it's faulty. I loved the shape and size, but wouldn't recommend this to anyone who wants a reliable car.
This is my daily driver and it makes the commute so very exciting. Not many on the road makes this a rare find and I love when people ask what it is so I get to talk about it.
Awsome car the reason for getting new car is need a little bigger car and need to be able to carry luggage and electric scooter

Low ground clearence
I bought this brand new because of its speed and warenties. This was a great little Crossover except ground clearence, who knew a fat racoon could take out a radiator mount. I could jump in this car and go cross country easily. Very reliable and saved my life...really. A week ago there were two cows in the road, one in each lane. I had no choice but to hit them, I was going about 60mph. After the impact Bluelink was activated right away getting the help I needed. The front end was in a million pieces, but inside the car was untouched! The airbag went off but that was all. I only had a couple bruises from the seat belt. Many people including the deputy sheriff said I was extremely lucky.
No worries, you been ripped off buying this car. Terrible resale value, and there reputation. Not reliable, not good on it's fuel mileage. It's a pointless vehicle. One of the worst vehicles out there.
Everything, love everything about this car
Nothing, I have no complaints
Got it brand new, now have over 30,000 miles on it. Never had an issue, never had to have any work done at all. Still runs perfect, decent gas mileage, peppy and fun to drive. Great factory warranty and the company really seems to stand behind it from what I have heard from other owners, but I have never had a reason to use it. EXCELLENT in the snow! I live in Michigan and have driven this car in snow that was deeper than I should have been driving in and it cut through it like hot butter and I have never had it slip or lose traction.
No
No quality, No value, Not reliable
Hyundai Kona is nothing but a cheap vehicle. Nothing good about this Kona. Not reliable, does not hold its value. It's just another pile of junk vehicle on the road. I, would not recommend this vehicle.
No pros
Gasoline pollution, value, reliable
Take this car to the cash for clunkers program coming soon. It's time to go out and buy a electric car, or hybrid. These full blown gasoline vehicles are polluting the air. Green new deal, climate change. This car is a complete lemom of junk. SAVE THE CLIMATE, IT'S BIDEN POLICIES 2025 RESTRICTIONS TO NEW VEHICLE'S
