Positive Review

"my 2nd Accent, great car"

Wow, love a car that doesn't break...anything...never had to go to the service center because nothing breaks! This is my second, and a third might be around the corner. Just finished a road trip and I got 36(!) mpg!(all freeway, but so what? 36!) Very dependable cars. Get one.

Critical Review

"Owner for three years..."

This car is great to have! If you spill your drink or put a dent in the door, you don't really care because it's an Accent! It's also good on gas, whereas nowadays a full tank of gas doubles the value of the car. But this is what I needed...a car that I could beat up, not have to clean, and not have to care about because I have so many other things to worry about! The 5-speed manual runs at about 4,000 rpms at 70 mph. It really sounds like the engine is trying too hard to sustain this speed, but it still accelerates rather well, and still amazingly gets 32-35 mpg at these speeds. When you step in the car, the interior cries 'sorry your life didn't turn out better'. It is very basic, plastic fantastic all around. My girlfriend once told me she was 'embarrased to be seen' in it, but I don't listen to her half the time... Would I recommend this car? It depends...if you need the cheapest thing to get you from A to B, this is a dependable workhorse. If you want something that is fun to drive, turns heads, or is comfortable on long road trips, you'd be out of your mind buying this car!

2001 bought in 2010 - 114,000 miles - $2,000. Now, 2024 - 262,000 miles. Setting a side tires and brakes which comes with every car - I have put less than $2,000. in repairs {$125. a year} 14 years and 150,000 miles. What does it not have - a $600. a month {$7,200. a year} payments. Who cares with impressing people - debt free life feels way better - grateful for this car's reliability!

Still going strong, 18 years later!! Because of the warranty, when it died 300 miles short of the 1000,000 miles, I got a whole new engine!

Lovely Little Car
Pros

Fun to drive, comfortable, reliable, large trunk

Cons

Not much insulation, lots of wind noise

I had this car for 10 years and it was incredibly reliable with only regular maintenance. I sold it only because I was ready to upgrade and not any fault of this car, it was still driving great and had no mechanical problems at 160,000+ miles.
